My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow

That’s awful and I think feeling angry is an appropriate response. It seems like your CM thinks so too if she’s encouraging you to put in a complaint.

You’re in a system that’s treating you like you don’t matter, and it’s understandable that part of you might feel like you aren’t meant to have support, but I promise that you do matter.

I wish I could do something to change things for you, so you could have the support and the stability that would help you recover. 💛

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow I'm sorry about the news hon. It simply isn't right. I can understand your anger and frustration. Putting in a complaint certainly is a good idea.

You do deserve the support. Unfortunately those making the choices just don't realise how much it affects you and others.

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Snowie @Wintersweet

im just so frustrated with my situation and frankly very over it. I have a lot of thoughts but I won’t give them voice, they aren’t helpful. I’m not getting anything from my ‘SW’ either. She sends me a text in the morning, I reply and then nothing. I really appreciated the 15mins with my CM today, I didn’t want to take too much of her time cause it was unplanned and I have a proper appointment on Friday.

@Chasingsunsets hope you don’t mind me tagging you over here. This is kinda my home I guess and when things are hard I tend to not wander too far from home. Feel bad I haven’t managed to reply to your last post.

Re: My Mosaic

Hey there @Bow thanks for your tag here 💛. I definitely understand sticking to one thread when things get overwhelming, I tend to do this at times too, thanks for inviting me to your thread 🫶. Definitely don’t worry about responding to the other post, you are completely fine and I’ll meet you where you are at now. I hear how destabilising this is with all these changes with your health workers, I’m sorry it’s all happened at once and that it’s even happening at all. What are some things that help you find some comfort? I know I like my weighted blanket when things get destabilising and I’m in a hyper state, how are your dogs going (can’t remember if you have one or two ☺️)? Do they help too?

I know this may be a new thing to throw out there and I know maybe not the right timing however if it’s not the right timing maybe this can be kept in your pocket for now- I was thinking that you find the forum helpful and you kind of know sane, not that long ago I saw adds for the recovery club, maybe this could help in the interim, was just a thought. 💜. Sitting with you bow it’s not easy travelling right now I know. We are here. What’s in for your evening?

Re: My Mosaic

Oh @Bow I am so sorry this is happening to you yet again. That is so unfair and unprofessional. I can’t begin to imagine how it will affect you this time and I totally understand if you put it all in the too hard basket. I’m just so sad for you.

Re: My Mosaic

Thank you @Chasingsunsets thank you for being understanding. Yes this is all very destabilizing for me all over again. It is a constant theme for me- pull all my supports out from under me all at once.

My psychologist was actually really good about it today and we have decided to work on a document together over the coming weeks that outlines stuff about me, where I struggle, all the internal stuff etc. I will take it when he leaves and I can chose to give it to my new psychologist. I appreciated this approach cause he understood how much I struggle with these changes. We also discussed the year long DBT group that they offer. Definitely told him though that I need/want psychology.

im currently laying on my spikey mat. I’ve held a lot of tension in my shoulders and upper back today and it’s feeling yuck. So this will help.

patting my cat and the dog does help. I’m trying to get into my art journal and I’m kinda looking forward to upcycling a piece of furniture again.

you know I signed up for recovery club a few months ago, but it’s felt too hard. It’s another person to get to know and I just hate the phone, especially when I don’t know the person. I did the guided program a couple of years ago but I knew one of the counselors from the chat/phone/forums and asked if I could request them and I was, so it was easier. I know they be wasted all that time now, but it was just something I didn’t have capacity for at the moment.

im going to watch some tv. Daughter has her book week parade tomorrow, so will go to that.

how are you doing?

Re: My Mosaic

Thank you @Eve7 I am definitely going to put in a complaint and I may even send it along to our local member of parliament. I’ve emailed him before and he was really responsive and met with me.

very much in the too hard basket at the moment. Psychologist told me to try not to shut down.. just all feels so inevitable.

how are you today? How’s uni going?

Re: My Mosaic

I’ve had internet issues today @Bow which has been very frustrating when I only have until the end of next week to finish this unit.

Yes, go to your MP especially if they’re supportive.

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow, your plan with your current psychologist sounds really good. Takes off a bit of stress when you can just hand someone a piece of paper rather than keeping it all in your head and having to rehash.

a spikey mat sounds interesting, is it relaxing? ☺️ sound like it’s great for tension though!! Pets are also so regulating sometimes aren’t they ☀️

An art journal and up cycling furniture sounds great, happy to be updated on what you get up to you are very creative!

Im actually not sure how the RC works. Maybe if you phoned them you could ask if there was a possibility of having a worker you may know of. Seems like a reasonable request. However I see there are a lot of things on your plate atm but least it’s there as another option if needed I guess 😊. Take care

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow

I’m glad your psychologist was at least understanding and is helping you put that information together. Hoping it will prove helpful, but also am so sorry it’s necessary.

I really hope you do decide to contact your MP too. I think that’s a really good idea given what’s happened.

I get hating the phone too. I also struggle with shutting down and not being able to find words, and find that talking over the phone makes it so much harder not to go into that space. That happened the first time I contacted Recovery Club but the second time I talked to someone else (Stephanie) and started by explaining that I struggle with that, and it was much more helpful. I hear you that it feels too hard right now (which makes sense) and It’s not the same as knowing them but thought it might be helpful for the future to know that she was able to hear/understand that and meet me where I was at.

Hope the book week parade goes well 💛
