That would be really hard. Is there anything you find helps soothe that part of you when it’s so loud?

I’m going to meet up with some friends tomorrow. I think there might be a campfire? Hopefully I can just passively join in with a group conversation and not have to try and put sentences together. Will be something to occupy my brain at least.

@Wintersweet i haven’t really found anything to soothe it as such more a matter of being able to do something until it passes.

we love a good campfire, our house actually has a purpose built firepit out the back, we’ve been here just over a year and have only used it once though! I find it a huge effort to set up and I hate when it won’t burn properly and just smokes and then the smell! My hair smells, my skin smells and I have to have a shower which is another whole big effort! My daughter loves the marshmallows and sometimes we will do s’mores. I hope that you can enjoy your time with your friends and it’s not too stressful.

im at market. It’s been a bit drizzly all day which is annoying. Sun tried to peak through the clouds. I need to find some crates for my artwork. They are currently in boxes that I got from bunnings which were the perfect size. I put heaps of sticky tape and a layer of contact especially on the bottom to protect them from any wet ground. But there is nothing to cover them.

but it’s been a pretty slow day. Rain keeps people away too.

Doing something until it passes makes sense. I imagine that might also help ground you a bit in the task and the present moment.

Fully understand the fire-pit being a motivational and sensory challenge. I’m fortunate that I like the smell of campfire smoke but it is very strong and I can see why others wouldn’t.

Good idea with the tape on the boxes. Hopefully you can find some crates at some point so you don’t need to worry about not having a cover for them. Well done for getting there today. Especially with the rain that would have been an effort.

we are home now, unloaded the car and we have the marquee roof and walls to somehow get dry. Hopefully the rain doesn’t stay too long. I’ve changed into my trackies and jumper and curled up on the couch.

I’m pretty tired but I think my brain is doing a good job of blocking out the stuff I don’t have capacity to process at the moment, which I’m grateful for.

i ended up having a late snooze on the couch. Daughter has just got home from her fathers- I always feel relieved once she is back.
