My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @Wintersweet

Thanks for the thoughts. Glad to hear that the iron transfusion went well and you didn't have any side affects.

Wishing you a good day today

Re: My Mosaic

Hey dear @Bow

Well done on getting through the sleep study hon. Sounds like not much sleep, but hopefully you can get some answers out of it. They probably realise that many people don't sleep well hooked up to things in a strange room/bed.

I like the breakfast in bed! Hope it was yummy.

Well I got through Fri night. There were about 16 people there so didn't really have to sit and chat with him. Just the basic hi, bye, happy birthday. Spiraled that night and Sat. Sun was bit better.

How is your week looking?

@Snowie

I’m glad there were enough people that you didn’t have to sit and chat. It makes sense that you’d need time to recover though 💛

Hope there are some nice things in your day today, or at least some neutral things that can help ground you (or whatever else is going to be most helpful for you).

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Snowie

thank you. The overnight sleep study was easy compared to the day time study. It was pretty hard. I was nearly gonna ask if I could just go home. They woke me at 6am and I had to get out of bed. At 7:30am I was told goodnight and told to try and go to sleep. 8am lights back on and told to get out of bed. This was repeated 4 times. I just couldn’t sleep. Even at home it often takes me more than 30mins to get to sleep, plus knowing that I would be woken again , I just couldn’t sleep.

I did find out today though that my uncle has narcolepsy and 5 of dads 8 siblings all have sleep apnea. I’m doomed!

im glad Friday night was ok and that you got through but sorry that your spiraled after that.

not too much on this week. Thursday I have my psychologist. I’m catching up with my friend Wednesday I think and I don’t know what days I’ll see my SW. think my new one was away today cause I got a message from my old one. Was expecting a call from my interim cm today but she didn’t call. She tried calling on Saturday but I had to keep my phone off for the majority of the day so it didn’t interfere with all the signals and stuff. We have market Saturday too. Might go down in the cave and sort through my stock and see if I need to make anything up.

what about your week? Got much on?

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah I think managing a job or kids with a mental illness is rough @Wintersweet i struggle. I have a lot of mum guilts. But I also have my mum around, which I am heaps grateful for.

greenland is one of them end of the world disaster movies and they go into a bunker. Number 2 is a follow on from it. I need to watch it again cause I got a bit distracted.

oh I have many projects started… and never finished! I also have lots of craft supplies to make things that I’ve never got around to even starting!

how was your day? Does the iron infusion kick in straight away? Or does it take some time to work?

Re: My Mosaic

The sleep study sounds weird waking you up so much and telling you to go back to sleep and so forth, but I guess they know what they are doing and what they look out for @Bow

Were there many people doing it at once? I'm assuming you get your own room?

My dad had sleep apnea. Not fun to deal with.

I sort of expected it after Fri night. Just glad it's behind me now.

Hopefully you can catch up with your friend. I'm assuming out somewhere so you can leave when you need too.

I hope your psych session goes as well as the first one did. Hopefully your SW doesn't take too much time off, not like your old one.

That will be a cold market hon! You'll have to make sure you rug up.

Have to take mum up the street tomorrow and got hairdressers Wed but thats it for this week. Looking forward to it being a slow week. D's got a dance comp Sat so will go to that too.

Re: My Mosaic

Todays been a very quiet day @Wintersweet which has been nice. Not a lot happening.

I hope your day has been kind to you too.

Re: My Mosaic

I guess that’s what people with narcolepsy do, fall asleep suddenly throughout the day @Snowie my dad was saying that when he worked with my uncle on the excavator, he would turn around to see why nothing has happening and there he was asleep. I don’t have that, I don’t think. But the lady did ask about leg movements, I can’t remember what she called it, but I said no and then told her that I often get really bad restless legs and she said that can be part of it. She said she had looked at my overnight study and seen on the movement signals. So it will be interesting to see what the results are in a few weeks time.

there was 4 others in overnight. But only 1 other stayed on to do the day time study. Think the others were just doing the regular sleep apnea test and I know the lady in the room next to me was doing a c-pap trial. The technician was in and out so much and that was partly why it took me ages to get to sleep. And yes, we all had our own room. Small room with a king single, bedside table, chair, sink and one of the hospital tables on wheels. After the first 2 nap trials I had to actually get off the bed and sit on the chair. I was so tired and sleepy and it was becoming a bit distressing. In the paper work it said you could leave your room and walk around, but it was a clinic. They were seeing patients during the day and I was in my pjs!

I need to badly loose weight. I have so many health issues because of the weight I have put on. And if I’m diagnosed with sleep apnea, it’ll just confirm it. I have so many aches and pains and it’s all been since stacking on the weight. They weighed me for the sleep study and when I asked for her not to tell me or let me see it, she gave me this funny look. And of course she wrote it on the paper and then stuck it down next to me 🤦🏼‍♀️

market will be cold! And it sucks setting up in the bitter cold, especially when you need your hands and fingers and they are so cold. Wearing gloves helps, but sometimes they get in the way.

im glad things have been a little better since Friday for you and a relatively quiet week is probably something you need after the week or so that you have had. Your daughter’s dance comp sounds nice, would be lovely being able to watch her.

Re: My Mosaic

@Snowie

Glad you were able to have a quiet day and not too much on this week until the dance comp. What kind of dance does D do?

@Bow

I’m sorry they put the paper next to you like that. I imagine that all the thoughts about the health issues and the physical discomfort might also feed the ED thoughts. Sending you lots of love. What’s the most helpful way for people to respond when you’re sharing about that?

Also, I’m really glad you have your mum to support you with D. I think it’s vital for any adult raising a kid to have support from (an)other adult(s).

The iron will probably take 4-6 weeks to make a real difference but I think it’s started helping with the restless legs I get when my iron is low. This evening was rough, thankfully the exhaustion seems to be taking over a bit now.

Re: My Mosaic

Well hopefully @Bow the results can help in the long run.

I wouldn't have left my room in my pj's either!

I can relate to needing to loose weight hon. I think lots of us can. I know it must be harder for you with your ED.

I don't know how you do it with the markets. Think I would have layer upon layer on trying to stay warm.

I just got back from taking mum out. Trying to relax a bit.

@Wintersweet D does something called Calisthenics. It's like dance but differs in a few ways. She's been doing it since she was 3.
