Wives caring for Husbands

Wives caring for Husbands

Hello ladies

I am a wife who has had a husband with depression for 10 years now. He has had multiple hospitalisations, long series of ECT's, and is now not able to work. I would love to hear from ladies who have been, are in, my shoes and was wondering if you would answer a few questions for me.

1. Where have you needed the most help, and, could you find it?

2. What has been your hardest struggle?

thanks in advance and all my best wishes

ZZ

Okay, please let me know how you go and remember that we are always here for you. @Tootsy

Trauma bonds are so complex... and it sounds like you know what you need to do here to feel safe again. But I know this isn't easy, you're incredibly brave for reaching out tonight.

I hope you get good rest, but please don't hesitate to reach out if you need us. Big hugs. 💛

@AuntGlow @Shaz51 @Healandlove @Jynx

Thank you, its a better day (although at work) but there seems to be a breakthrough and hubs is feeling a bit better 😊 I will still reach out for some help and will set some boundaries to stick too. Thank you for your support 🧡

Oh, I am so glad that today feels lighter for you @Tootsy. 🥰

Do you think you and hubby might explore some support together?

Re: Wives caring for Husbands

@AuntGlow He spoke to his Psychologist today which helped. He is still edgy, he just told me I’m cold hearted and so is my daughter so I’m not sure how to take that especially for what I endure. 😓

I have been classed as being at high risk for DV and I thought it was getting better but it’s not. Im at a loss to help hubs as he turns everything around on me when i say anything.
