QUOTES THAT SETTLE MY MIND

QUOTES THAT SETTLE MY MIND

A TIME FOR EVERYTHING
There is a time for everything, and a
season for every activity under the sun.
A time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time for decay and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones, a time to gather,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Re: QUOTES THAT SETTLE MY MIND

I see it @Decadian, perceptions are different and filtered by so many facits. I wonder if any of us truly understand another. But i think I have seen it in the love of elderly couples when they look into each others eyes, after endured a long lifetime by eachother's side.

Re: QUOTES THAT SETTLE MY MIND

Yes @Former-Member - I understand that

People tend to live a long time in my family - so I have had the chance to see what long term - seriously long term - relationships can be like

Maybe that filtering of time does allow them to understand the other person - and yet - even between my own parents and other close relatives in later years - I have seen and heard or been told - about their little narks -

So I guess love and time to give this insight to the elderly couples who have somehow lasted time's enduring ravages - they know each other so well - those little irritations have not dimmed their respect for each other - they understand - and it must be okay or their children or nieces etc don't but in, don't exclaim - just listen with amused inner-sight gained during their own trips through middle-age - alone or not - and smile privately and keep it to themselves -

It's pretty wonderful actually - to have my aging relatives - tell me something like that - ah - yes - that friendship they found in each other - maybe had the chance to grow into mature love - and the friendship still exists.

I think it may not be the loss of love that destroys a relationship but the loss of the friendship that drew them together first - I think that was so in my case

(for those who have lost loved ones)

THE BROKEN CHAIN

We little knew that morning
that God would call your name,
in life we loved you dearly;
in passong we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home..

You left us many memories,
and love is still our guide,
though we cannot see you,
you're always by our side.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
