A TIME FOR EVERYTHING There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the sun. A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time for decay and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones, a time to gather, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. - ECC -

Re: QUOTES THAT SETTLE MY MIND
TWELVE STAGES OF DECLINE ( in mental illness / living)
01 SELF importance became too high a priority in my life.
02 INATTENTIVE to the universal order of life, growth, beauty and love.
03 COMPETITIVE motives are allowed to prevail over common personal welfare.
04 VENTING feelings, or suppressing them, against our better judgment and sound advice.
05 THINKING in isolation from others & following feelings or imaginings instead of reason.
06 BODY CARE, and control is neglected.
07 DENYING signs of personal decline and shrinking from the task of change.
08 SYSTEMATICALLY disguising the true nature of our own unhealthy conduct.
09 BECOMING prey to obsessions, elusion and hallucinations.
10 PRACTISING irrational habits, under elated feelings of irresponsibility or despairing feelings of inability or compulsion.
11 REJECTING advice and refusing to cooperate with help.
12 LOSS of all insight into our condition.

Hi @Decadian, thanks, I'm addicted to validation (character flaw). Its just a simplified version from the 'GROW' Blue Book. Talk to you on STM thread.

Re: QUOTES THAT SETTLE MY MIND
You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view . . . until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.

Re: QUOTES THAT SETTLE MY MIND
I used to be very frightened of people but I have lost that ... and now I am gently curious about them .. there are so so many people ... I sit next to a nervous shy young woman and smile at her in her veil and know there is so much I cannot understand about her life .. just a shy smile .. so that she doesnt see all whites as distant .. but then a very modern confident veiled woman and child sits in front of me ... they are both so different from each other ... people are fascinating critters ...

Do you ever want to grab them and hug them tight.

Re: QUOTES THAT SETTLE MY MIND
That is a very strong truism @Former-Member
I believe that - and also - even if we could walk around in someone else's skin we still would not know - we would bring our own personality to the situation - our own experience and our own belief system
For all we are alike we are also different - and it is our human differences that allow mankind to flourish - and well as give us the opposite
