Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Wishing you all the best for your date tomorrow @NatureLover . Hope it's a promising start, you deserve it.

I'm still digesting yesterday's news I might have an electrolyte imbalance accounting for my feeling nqr. The tests have to be repeated.

I've lost the plot on clutter. And everything else.

I'm safe, just bamboozled.

Glad you're safe, @Dimity .

Thank you for remembering my date today. However, my date postponed again. The first time she postponed, I was depressed. This time I'm surprisingly OK. Maybe because we're chatting every night.

An electrolyte imbalance! That sounds like it might be easily fixed? When do the tests have to be repeated? It would be good to get to the bottom of why you're not feeling right.

I need to go to the previous page before I can reply to your other post...

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, @Dimity . I woke up past 8am (!) and then had a very busy day at work. Catching up now.

I'm not going to start looking for another place till I absolutely have to. This place is perfect for me. My neighbour is also going to request a renewed lease soon, so that will be a big clue if he's knocked back too.

Well done on doing some chores.

I finally went out and recycled the bottles and cans early this morning. Then did 4 errands. Unfortunately I did another big shop, making 2 since I got my car back. Now there are bags all over the kitchen and lounge-room floors! Oh dear. I need to tackle them today as they're blocking the way. Also my finances are way down. Oops!

I hope you feel a bit brighter today and that the sunshine helps 🤞

Glad you're happy things are going well with your date @NatureLover . And it's amazing your place is perfect for you. Add to that you're so happy with your volunteering and it's probably contributed greatly to your recovery and stability.

Well done on the recycling. Don't worry too much about the bags - you've had lots of practice dealing with them.

Your finances are a bit of a worry, hope things work out.

I had a better day today. Not super productive but I caught up a little.

I was going to repeat the blood tests Wed but I got an unexpected recall from the gp today so I'm not sure now.

Hope you have a good day tomorrow. I'm overwhelmed by admin, clutter, garden jungle, but have to start again somewhere.

Hi @Dimity , thanks for your reply - you sounded a bit more positive? I'm glad you had a better day. 🙂

What do you mean, an unexpected recall...did the GP want to bring you back in to discuss something? Do you have a new appt?

I'm actually depressed this morning as my date didn't want to chat last night, as well as postponing our date. We've been chatting every night for a month. I'm discouraged. No-one else is interested in me on the 2 dating sites.

Thanks for your encouragement re the bags on the floor. I did unpack about 5 of them yesterday, but there's no more storage to unpack the rest. I went overboard in shopping.

I have a family lunch today...thankfully without my abusive father.

I hope you can continue feeling a bit more positive today...

I don't know why the gp recalled me @NatureLover and I haven't made a new appt yet.

It's understandable you've been depressed... perhaps your new friend was busy with something important to her to both cancel and avoid chat last night? Hopefully not another family emergency for her.

It seemed very warm today. I achieved very little.

That's a worry hanging over your head, about the GP recalling you, @Dimity .

I feel OK this morning as my date chatted last night and we've rescheduled the date for this Sunday. Thanks for your kind wishes.

It was hot yesterday. At least you achieved a little. I didn't achieve anything. After the lunch I sat out in the sun socialising with the neighbours.

Today I really need to catch up on some volunteer work. My official work day isn't till Tuesday, but I'm quite behind.

Do you have a busy week ahead? I hope you feel a bit stronger today when you wake up 🤞

Hi again @Dimity , I found some rare energy this morning, and have cleared all the bags on the floor! I stacked groceries on the long kitchen bench.

Am having a break now and maybe afterwards will tackle the papers and other stuff on the long kitchen bench, now that groceries are taking up a lot of room there.

I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous day...
