Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Hi @Dimity , that's the thing - My Medicare seems to just cover one GP. And MyGov made me nominate a new one straight away.

I did book an appt with the new GP I nominated, but it seems that she is not as available as the last one - the appt is two weeks away.

That's disappointing about your referrals. Can you email or ring the clinic to ask about them? I know that at my clinic, referrals and scripts get placed in an accordion file till the patient picks them up in person. Although you said your GP promised to forward yours. But ot wouldn't hurt to follow up.

Thanks for remembering my change in asthma meds. You're very attentive like that. ❤️

Today is 2 blood tests at 2 different places - one for iron, and one for penicillin (immunology studies) with the hospital network. Plus the library to pick up reserved books, and the supermarket for more rhubarb.

Well done for persevering with your craft group. I hope your day goes OK today.

It sounds a very busy day @NatureLover . A lot of driving for you. Hopefully you'll get the results soon.

I thought MyMedicare was optional... obviously there's a lot I'd got wrong about it. Perhaps I've done the wrong thing in seeing other doctors when my nominated gp is booked out for weeks.

Home help didn't come today. I'd found our last interaction troubling, so perhaps she did too and won't come again.

You've been a good friend in my struggles. Thank you. Please excuse me if my account is suspended. I hope and trust things go well for you.

Hi @Dimity , am concerned about what you said about your account possibly being suspended. That seems to indicate it's not your choice to leave. I don't want to lose your friendship.

I hope your account isn't suspended 🤞

My clinic made me join My Medicare...something about benefit to the doctor I choose under it. I didn't really understand it, but they didn't give me any option.

I would also see another doctor if I needed to. But apparently for all my chronic conditions I should be seeing just the nominated GP. It's not a realistic system as GPs can be booked out for weeks, like you said.

That's a worry your home help didn't come and didn't let you know. Can you ring the agency to find out if she has quit?

Thank you for your friendship and support. I really hope you don't have to leave. ❤️

Hi @NatureLover I hope your cold has improved.

I'm taking things very quietly.

I worked for 4 hours today, trying to get back on track here at home after the upsetting week. I found a small stash of lace my grandmother must have made (crocheted), very old. And other craft.

Still finding my papers hard to deal with. Unpacking them very slowly.

Enjoy your day tomorrow - perhaps you'll do some of your volunteering tasks again?

Hi @Dimity , I'm so happy to see you! You haven't left! ❤️

Well done on the 4 hours' work yesterday. And old lace is quite valuable, I've heard.

I think it's a good idea to intersperse your difficult papers with other things.

My cold is still hanging around. The asthma coughing I always get afterwards hasn't started yet.

No work today - am not sure yet what to do today.

Good luck today.

I'm trying to mind my p's and q's @NatureLover. I'll see what happens.

It's good the cold hasn't gone to your chest yet.

I've pottered through chores and finished transcribing my phone contacts so I can risk transferring the broken sim to a new phone. The old one went dead for a while yesterday so I can't keep putting it off.

Fingers crossed your SAD turns the corner with the solstice. I've been very low but I don't blame the season.

I really hope your account is not suspended, @Dimity 🤞

Well done on transcribing your phone contacts - I hope the change to the new phone goes smoothly.

I believe the Forums will be down tomorrow morning, and it's a work day for me so I will miss my morning slot to post.

I heard that my old GP moved just 9 minutes' drive away. So this morning I'm going to drive to that clinic and check it out. I really like my current clinic, so I have a dilemma.

Yes, I am happy we've reached the winter solstice. But my S.A.D. usually lasts through to October.

I'm sorry you're so low 😥 Sending wishes for you 🤞

Hello @NatureLover just testing as the administrator said posting on old threads has been fixed now.

Lovely to see your messages on the solstice threads.

Testing...thanks for letting me know, @Dimity ! I hope this works 🙂

About to go and see your reply on your Solstice thread.

I didn't get much done yesterday except laundry, which I'm very behind on.

A work day today.

Hoping you're feeling a little stronget with the tech fixes on the forums 🤞❤️

Laundry is good @NatureLover . Mine got soaked in heavy rain late yesterday.

Hope your work day went well.
