Numb again

I have tried contacting online support but everything is unavailable or offline .

I was raped 7 years ago and things happen so I made myself numb and supprised everything. I learned about the breathing techniques as well as the 5,4,3,2,1 tool. Tonight it's not working . I am having flash backs like crazy and I can't get my mind and body to calm down to relax and sleep . At this stage I am in for a night of night terrors and I can't do that again tonight. I am shutting down again but not sure how to stop it .

I have no idea on the soft toy. I have bought anything like that while here. Any recommendations?

Big W has some bigger toys that are about $10 - I bought an owl for my kids at school. They had an elephant also that was super cute and would be a rather could hugging toy @Pollyotter Have a look on ther website and see what they have.

It makes a difference talking to someone who doesn't make it your fault . It makes a bigger difference talking to someone who understands it all. I am sorry that we have this as a connection.

That connection certainly sucks but we are more than our past, more than our trauma and certainly not defined by it. I have had soooo much support from the forum and have a good team around me so that has helped immensely. That also makes it easy to be here for you - we can both draw on what has connected us but it does not in any way define who we are - don't let them have that power of you Hon because they certainly do not deserve to continue to have that effect on you. You are stronger and more courageous than you know - just reaching out here has showed that - so draw on that strength to get you through - and take that control back for yourself @Pollyotter
