World caves in

World caves in

i sit alone in painful times as I seem to in all times, I sit and look upon the world and wonder why..........why.........why is it the world is driven by narcacissm, hubris and the ever increasing need for instant self gratification, a world of beauty transformed into a gamorrean garden of visceral excess. All depth left for dead, love sits forgotten weeping tears of diamonds as the world is consumed by cheap lust, when did we stop caring when did people just become things to be used and thrown into the mud as they move to the next and the next and the next. Why is it so quiet now, why is it so empty, why is it so cold. When did it become stupid to have morality and standards and self control, when did love become a word to be thrown around as just some empty sentiment, when did sorry lose meaning, when did words become just words.

he sits upon the earth frozen to the touch but warm deep within, he looks upon the people and weeps that they shall never see or feel what real love is, he dreams of things that will never be because the world grows dark around him, his heart so big it was thought unbreakable people had cut it, times had aged it, people had crushed it beneath heavy boots, but he stood back up again and again denying the fall he could see, but then he saw what we had become, what everything was, is and shall be, and his mighty heart broke in two, now he sits invisible to all holding within his hands the pieces of a once great and beautiful heart.

Re: World caves in

The people who have harmed, broken and decimated me, some more so than others deserve no quarter unfortunately that list is very long and wide ranging. But again would I turn them away some no others deserve punishments I am incapable of.

I try to hold that little sliver of hope, it's hard I drew a picture once of a man (me) drowning holding onto well hope in the form of a fishing line the hook in the side of my palm, the scary thing about that is rather regularly I can feel it, or maybe it's there as a reminder of hope I'm not sure.

to bad my angels and things I have drawn can't become corporeal

Well Apple whilst I tend to be dark and brooding I have many other attributes such as humour, good nature, selflessness, innocence, compassion, and probably other things that I think make me just really nice, this to has been taken advantage of sadly but some things I won't change cause well they are the ones that have lost out.

The calm white face in your pic is beautiful ... and the manic mask playful and wild.

I could tell you had compassion but humour is also important ... it took a while for me to "grow" my humour. I had to do it deliberately ... as I had to be able to laugh a bit with my kids ...

My sense of humour has been with me for nearly 10 years ... though I cant always tap in it.

We also do need to learn to laugh at ourselves ... but not too much ... just enough to acknowledge our foibles.

Well in my profile picture, those familiar with the movie 'the lost boys' would know it, it's one of my favourite movies and the characters do make sense

as for humour I developed that at a fairly young age, to distract from my lack of understanding and as a defence mechanism

Re: World caves in

I dont know that movie ... i'll look it up.

I am interested ... in humour.

For me I thought I did not have any as I was often upset about other people laughing and being mean about people. Then I discovered my first big huge belly laugh reading Pygmalian ... and identifying with the Flower girl ... in the mud ... and not speaking with a genteel accent ... so that was in my late 20s.

It just had to be things that genuinely tickled my funny bone .. not ridicule of others .. i like Hannah Gadsby .. but am not really gay

Re: World caves in

Lost boys is an 80's vampire movie, it's up there with the crow in my favourite movies, when it comes to humor it's very individual, I like billy Connolly, and Adam hills, self deprecating tends to be preferable to stereotyping and degrading.

as for me I tend to turn things around on people hence the defence mechanism, laughter has helped me once or twice, the first few seasons of that 70's show helped me once
