World caves in

World caves in

i sit alone in painful times as I seem to in all times, I sit and look upon the world and wonder why..........why.........why is it the world is driven by narcacissm, hubris and the ever increasing need for instant self gratification, a world of beauty transformed into a gamorrean garden of visceral excess. All depth left for dead, love sits forgotten weeping tears of diamonds as the world is consumed by cheap lust, when did we stop caring when did people just become things to be used and thrown into the mud as they move to the next and the next and the next. Why is it so quiet now, why is it so empty, why is it so cold. When did it become stupid to have morality and standards and self control, when did love become a word to be thrown around as just some empty sentiment, when did sorry lose meaning, when did words become just words.

he sits upon the earth frozen to the touch but warm deep within, he looks upon the people and weeps that they shall never see or feel what real love is, he dreams of things that will never be because the world grows dark around him, his heart so big it was thought unbreakable people had cut it, times had aged it, people had crushed it beneath heavy boots, but he stood back up again and again denying the fall he could see, but then he saw what we had become, what everything was, is and shall be, and his mighty heart broke in two, now he sits invisible to all holding within his hands the pieces of a once great and beautiful heart.

This is tough @Redraw

I have read what you wrote - I think it was John Donne who wrote "No man is an island"

If there are so many empty and lonely artists and writers in the world - yes - something is wrong

But as a published writer - I don't feel that way - but it is true that it is lonely to be gifted

I do like Impressionism, though surrealism has many pluses too and pop culture, mine is ranging but not much in the way of landscapes, I suddenly remembered that scene in ferris bullers day off when Cameron stares deeply at the post impressionist painting by Seurat, I also recall seeing a Van Gogh exhibit when I was young that was great

Hi @Redraw

I didn't remeber that scene from Ferris Bullier's Day Off, but I googled it, and I am familiar with Seurat ... that technique is pointillism ..... creating images from lots of dots of pure colour, but when you put them together the eye blends them to make, say purple, out of red, white and blue dots rather than the colours themselves being blended. It's also referred to as chromoluminarism .... as in an illumination through the use of colour ....

The impressionists were so amazing - totally transformed the direction and understanding of art in Central Europe at the time ...

I have also seen works by Van Gogh, and loved them.

Not everyone has dismissed moral fibre and genuine care and feelings @Redraw .... I hope some nicer folks come your way than the ones who have left such a bitter taste in your mouth. It is really a spectrum out there .... take your time .... healing is important ... but please keep that spark of hope on the back-burner somewhere.

He sat the day looking out on sun and green, then to stride down to sit upon the sand watching waves roll over red rocks and soft sand, just watching, listening trying to drift from the dark loneliness and sadness that resides within, tears streak his face, pain creases his face, and strains at his ever large heart. Is it him that's wrong or the world, he knows only that what is within his mind, heart and soul holds more purity than most.

He walks outside in cold darkness, stands upon fresh cut grass spreads his arms and looks up into the eternity, staring up at stars long ago burnt out, wishing for a sign, a mysterious something that shall never fall upon his soft and ever frosting skin, vision blurring from burning tears draining his soul and staining his flesh, his hair aflame his skin frozen but beneath the surface his blood burns. He smiles but not a smile of joy or happiness but of agonised longing, his laughter breaches the enveloping darkness the endless silence. He collapses to his knees, broken, beaten, crushed beneath dreams, ideals and beliefs strong yet hopeless.

The world keeps turning, people keep burning, everyone stops learning, and he.................well he falls unending

to quote firefly "when you can't run any more.......you crawl, and when you can't ........well when you can't do that you find someone to carry you.

or the theme song. 'Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand, I don't care, I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me'

That is fabulous - this shows the man - this shows so much

I see the stars too - but while I can - they have not yet died - it's true stars die - but not when I can see them

@Redraw I love that Firefly quote 🙂 Firefly is where I got my username from, actually!

"I’m very sorry if she tipped off anyone about your cunningly concealed herd of cows."

Such a good show!

The light of the stars reside within my eyes, my mind and my heart but much like everything this is all just a case of the human sphere of perception.

Coincidentally enough I just watched that particular episode. "See morbid and creepifing I got no problem with"

sad that it only got one season, movie aside there is so much that remained untold, like the background of Shepard book, and well there in the show there was more mystery behind river and the 'men in black'

I was painfully shy in my first 30 years.

I have often withdrawn into my own mind and imagination where people wernt horrible and did not hurt others. When I was 23 I started at uni and that saved me as before that I had met a lot of wounded bumbling and savage and greedy souls. So it helped me to withdraw into my mind but at the same time open it up to some of the best thinkers in the world.

I also was taught in a therapy session to vent anger ... I thought it was a joke at the time ... then did primal which was a different type of physicalising feelings ... and then psychodrama ... which was more subtle and more social ... there are many approaches and some do actually help.

I have also been driven as I was surrounded by those who were youngewr and more vulnerable than myself ... as in younger sibs ... then children ... so I couldnt give up and become cold hardened and cynical.

Yet there are challenges for all souls to take up living in their own true way.

Your language is very evocative. I havent gotten into modern rock, have a few memories from my teens. I moved away as it was often entwined in the drug scene and when that gets heavy it destroys people.

Many of us then become afraid of or deniy our own power and strength. I believe to become truly adult we need to embrace our strength and harness it for a good purpose. You have strength at the same time as you talk of your vulnerability and gentleness and the energy inside you lke a supernova. I have felt things like that and then the next day incredibly frail and broken ... it seems to be the path many take to wholeness ... do what works for you.

No love, one friend rarely seen, family scattered and more rarely seen, I feel broken inside, unwanted, unliked I can't be what everyone else is, I wish I could no longer feel, I wish I could see the shine that once was before de-evolution came to the world, I weep for a future so broken by present mentalities, where love, honor, honesty, have been replaced by the seven deadly sins, I am not religious but no matter what you believe the darkness of the future remains, I would explain but no sense in creating more conflict than is presently plaguing my aching mind. The question is what is it that remains, what is the future? with luck rebellion against a arrogant, self serving, vain, paternal populace
