Munchies

Munchies

Thought I would start a thread that can be used to chat or talk about food issues, hates or loves. I do comfort eat but also I know its the great human connecting ground, because we all do need to eat, no matter what.

I wondered if some on the forum might relate to this more than the beergarden or the night shift. Hi @Former-Member I was thinking of you but anyone else who is interested may just pop in.

Just had a mandarin, its sweet but lighter flavour than an orange is sometimes just what i need.

Feel free to chat, though.

Cheers

Apple

Re: Munchies

Excellent work there @Shaz51! they look yummy.

Last night, when sorting the pantry to store the pickled ginger, I found the last jar of Elderflower Jelly I made from the gathered flowers from the Elderberry/ Elderflower tree at the last place I lived. I didn't know I still had a jar of it. Really nice find, I'll have to make pikelets or scones to enjoy it to it's best advantage now.

I am very limited on the amount of pastry I am able to have, but oh, they do look yummy!

Re: Munchies

.. one reason I’d like to be a teenager again @Appleblossom .. we used to eat at least 2 slices white bread with cream and dessert spoons full of McEwens fig jam from those kilo or 2 kilo even cans. There must have been a glut and it must have been cheap. We got to love it 😀

Re: Munchies

@TAB I was about 13 and staying/working at the dairy farm when I was shown that cream and jam decadence. The farmer's daughter said it was not as good with the cream from their dairy but used cream from the supermarket and fridge. I never kept it on as a thing, though showed my son once.

Basically I am a low sugar type. @Wanderer I have a diabetic gf ... her numbers are adjusted. Maybe your are too, perhaps considering all the ops etc

Dont be too swayed by my honey story. Had more problems reducing cream as did lots recipes with cream in early 20s. Trying to get permission to change to yoghurt ... almost made the switch. No bought cream for a few years.

Thanks for starting up this ole thread again. @Shaz51

Munchies need to be healthier.
