Let's relive the 1980's

Hiya everyone!!!!

I loved the 80's and I thought I would start a forum where we can relive our favourite songs. bands, TV shows, movies, fashions, celebrities, world events etc. If I had a time machine I would go back and experience it all, because as they say at the time you don't realise how special it is until it is over.

So if you grew up in the 80's tell us your experiences, what you loved and remembered etc. If you missed the 80's that is fine. we can tell you what it was like, how things were done etc. So please come and join me and reflect on this great decade......

I am going to start off by showing you one of my fav songs from one of my two fav bands (The Beatles being the other one). Still love this song as much as when I first heard it..... written by drummer Roger Taylor inspired by words from his young son.....Radio Ga Ga

Yes @Scarecrowe BCRs was the 70s not 80s - my first crush! I even made some 'roller strollers' out of a calico suit like the ones 2nd from left (Eric!). Mum wasn't too happy about that. So I guess I'm saying I really wasn't cool at all in my early teens. It was the first big concert I went to too - with my Dad ... sooooooo uncool!!! I don't remember them having a TV show of their own tho'.

Funny how we change so much in just those few years. 1980 I was just 17 and it was a totally different world than the 70s. I was so determined not to be a dag any more!!

This was my fave when I first went to 'discos' as an underage drinker .....

LOL love that pic of the BCR!!!! @eth Yes you only have to look at their outfits to know they were 70's era lol. Plus they were in my primary school years so that was mainly the 70's. That is how I usually remember what decade things were if I was in primary or high school as I started high school in 1982......

The two decades were so different weren't they. But no matter what I was still a dag....I was in the daggiest group at school....I was never cool!!!!!! But I was fine with that....the cool kids were not that nice anyway, I would rather be uncool and nice than cool and nasty.

@Scarecrowe loved that one too. I finished grade 12 in 1979 at age 16 and was determined to dance to everything that wasn't 'pop' - trying desperately to punk out in a rural CQld town!

Bro and sil just got back so if I vanish that will be why.

I def lived through the 80s but there is heaps that does not ring my bells or tickle my fancy ... tho I do confess to big hair.

Ah hah now you are talking. @eth @Scarecrowe nah no BCR or Barbie ...

@Bunniekins Nah ...no movies ...maybe 2 or 3 in 15 years. Usually had no tv so I did get to see them as reruns either ... but did not feel like I was missing out ... just too busy getting on with stuff. My quick sum up is ... got corrupted by Bach too young ... make if it what you will!
