Let's relive the 1980's

Let's relive the 1980's

Hiya everyone!!!!

I loved the 80's and I thought I would start a forum where we can relive our favourite songs. bands, TV shows, movies, fashions, celebrities, world events etc. If I had a time machine I would go back and experience it all, because as they say at the time you don't realise how special it is until it is over.

So if you grew up in the 80's tell us your experiences, what you loved and remembered etc. If you missed the 80's that is fine. we can tell you what it was like, how things were done etc. So please come and join me and reflect on this great decade......

I am going to start off by showing you one of my fav songs from one of my two fav bands (The Beatles being the other one). Still love this song as much as when I first heard it..... written by drummer Roger Taylor inspired by words from his young son.....Radio Ga Ga

Which indecently inspired the name of a current pop star...................

Hiya @Maggie

Glad you are enjoying the thread. It is fun looking back, remembering things that we have forgotten, and having a chuckle.

My friend had an Atari which I loved playing when I could @TAB but yes no computers in the household back then.

I used to save and search for 20cent pieces to take to the shop to play pacman and galaga and caterpilla lol......

loved playing computer games then and now

@Scarecrowe my mum had a poster of Norman Gunston on the back of her sewing room door. Always wondered if she pashed it, like I did my Bay City Rollers posters! (confessions here!)

@CheerBear the barbie I remember best was the hiking barbie

the joke was that inside her sensible boots she still had the high heeled feet!! My bub came in 1988 and this was the only barbie I let her have. Other than that she had action figures - hard to get female ones in those days

Re: Let's relive the 1980's

LOL @eth Barbie and her high heeled feet.......hilarious........nearly choked on my tea when I read that........................

Wow love Wonder Woman doll......I loved that show as a kid.......of course we all wanted to be like her........................I don't recall Lady Slither though, she is rather scary lol.

I was not into barbie that much, I did have one but hardly played with her. My sister and I had heaps of matchbox cars and we played with them all day.................

But I did have one of these which I loved......and I would not let my sister play with this no matter how much she begged me.....................and she begged often!!!!!

The Bay City Rollers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was a huge fan of those when I was in primary school.............................Do I remember correctly, did they have a TV show on the ABC back in their hey day because I seem to vaguely remember watching them .....

That is funny of you wondering about your mum and her Norman Gunston poster
