Re: Sleeping too much
Glad there was rep to help assess your parents needs .. they should be entitled to personal carer .. or council help etc.
Was just researching banter sarcasm & irony .. lol ... again .. getting it sorted in my thick head ..
I suspect it was a mindful outpouring with reality in your family dynamic
if sarcasm is frequent its a problem .. but given its a shift ifrom your usual attitude .. Imy guess is that it was healthy .. and necessary ..
I had an ambulance moment today .. drove buy police wagon and ambulance .. just near the spot .. where I had my sit-down in October .. I muttered .. "at least its not cos of me" .. son didnt respond .. but noted it .. I wasnt too loud or jokey .. but had an inner smile ...

Thinking of your smile @Appleblossom....
Nighty night @Former-Member
Im sitting in happy stillness that you got that necklace and when you leave that home you do not give it back even if the grand jury of Canberra search through all your car, you stick in in your bra and just hold it tightly.
Look innocent. Feel kind to you.
You walk away. The consultation with the DVA rep, was brill.
Love your way babe,
@Former-Member girl,
Nighty night from PP

Re: Sleeping too much
That's a lovely necklace for your little girl @Former-Member - and I am glad you are going to plant it near your daughter - who knows what people know after death - I have quite a few items that belonged to my grandmother and they are precious to me - I am sure this jewellery will be precious to our daughter too
Your brothers are astounding - I guess they are a product of their dysfunctional lack of a supportive upbringing - I feel cross with your brother ranting at you about mice eating his computer cable etc - and having a bad back and no money - I don't know what to say but those boys could take the bins out for your dad and cook a meal here and there and do the dishes
It will be hard for you to get out of there - I imagine there will be a culture shock when you get home - you will be in my thoughts Tawney

Re: Sleeping too much
It is a beautiful necklace @Former-Member .... I am so glad you have decided to gift it to your daughter in memory ..... and the fact that it has come from your mum who is unable to express grief for her, is so special .... it's a touchstone .... and it came to you unexpectedly .... a special gift.
You have done so well with the situation at your mum and dad's house .... you're a real trooper ....
There might not be anyone at your house, but you will be able to rest and recover .... and maybe your son will come and visit more often now.
Keep hopeful about other changes this year @Former-Member .... you have come miles since I first met you here.
Baby steps .... take care on the road ....
❤️💕

Re: Sleeping too much
"Banter sarcasm & irony* sounds like an interesting topic. Thanks for being "mindful of my family dynamic" - I still can't figure it out lol Am i being sarcastic? Are, the 'waaambulance' comment - just venting frustration at the time. Its very hard when the Bros get verbally aggressive, sometimes in tears because we don't agree with them (the delusions), and no empathy for their audience. Yes, its not me & hate that sinful part of myself when it surfaces. Going to bed is much easier on the world around me.
Sounds like ambulance trigger you a little too - I'm so glad it wasn't because of you this time 🙂 Do you get all insecure with yourself to be reminded of these past setbacks we've had too? Another part of me I struggle with. Maybe you're stronger than me, certainly sound more rational. Was your son around when that happened before? Glad you can smile about it. A healing reminder you've moved on. Hope for us too. xox
@PeppiPatty, hi, how are you precious soul? i'm still uncomfe covertly taking the necklace (must pray about it), my girl or I don't need 'things' anymore. Love your snoopy pics xox
@Decadian, yep, I think you have more 'fight' than me, I appreciate the different perspective, and empathy with frustration. Sorry you seem to have been singled out so young to be the 'black sheep' of the family. How painful! Could your dad see through it? Not fair. What choice have you had but to walk away. Yes, It will be hard for me to leave. My biggest fear is that mum or unwell bro will sabotqe my efforts with their critical words. Never good enough it seems, so maybe the sooner the better, let them get back to 'normal' (oops, there's that sarcasm again) xox
@Faith-and-Hope, my far away friend, you always have a gentle drop of goodness to add. and Thank you for the waterlilly - made me smile (and mum).Didn't see the necklace ismmas a 'touchstone' that 'came to me' 'a special gift' (and here I was being so hurt by it drr). Not sure i've done well with the situation here at mum and dad's house. So much cleaning I can't seem to get round to. As mum said "ya just doing th things I do" Once she even put dad on the spot and asked him if he liked her meal better than mine. Poor dad - he's good at dodging lol. I haven't even begun to describe the dynamics there. But yes, I have noticed a 'shift' in my ability to handle them all - less reactive! Think I'm too tired or maybe its the new 'therapy' who knows, its good.
Yes, i will be able to 'rest' at home (if i ever get back there lol), recallobrate my focus to self care / healing, my garden... Still want to see my son's new flat and shout him to a belated birthday meal.
Thanks for notaticing I've grown, changed this year "miles since I first met you here" that means more than toy know to hear, xox ❤️.💗💕
@Shaz51, hiya, good to see you. I know you care. I've been thinking of you too, wondering if you health is improved? Stay strong. xox

Re: Sleeping too much
Mum has been sick with this cold 2days but eating & drinking. Just 1/2 fainted while I was posting here before, checked her BP 89/46, rang 13HEALTH (because I doubt myself), yes they said to see Dr within 4hrs - who agreed to squeeze mum in. But she couldn't stand long enough to go to the car & I'm worried about losing her on steps so I rang ambulance.
Ambos took 1/2hr (and frankly one was quite rude), they assessed her & helped me get her in the car to take her to the Dr (yep, they refused to take her to hospital). Her temp was 37.9. She staggered the 100m from car, leaning on shopping trolley with me behind her with a lightweight plastic chair for wobbly sit downs. We made it. The nurse assessed significant Postural Hypotention, fever. Her normal GP saw her and sure enough she has clinical pneumonia and he called ambulance as she needs admission to hospital. My heart knows this is how cancer patients die and even though my mar is so cruel at times - it still upsets me.
She's all worried about the dogs & dad and shopping so I grabbed a notepad and pen & took list to tend to which eased her worry. But
While talking with her my ph kept ringing, Bro4 wants me to come pick him up cause he's broken down again. I suggested he walk the 2blocks & sit with dad under aircon as I'll be more than an hour. I told him what's happening with mum. All he said was "oh sh#t" paused, "can you ask mum for $150 I need to fix my car!" I said "No, shes "too sick" and i'm not leaving her here alone here". He started to abuse me so I hung up (not letting on to ma). He's been trying to ring back repeatedly since, can't block, he's on silent now. I don't feel so guilty anymore but it shook me up, he sent me thus msg: "This is hell why do you treat me like this"
I rang dad to let him know what's GI ng on, he said Bro4 was there & give mum a kiss for him.
I thought i was real strong till I walked back to mum to find her with the nebuliser on OMG - flashback to the night I lost my girl. That nebuliser!!. I left for a silent cry. But calmed down.
After waving mum off in the ambulance, kissing her goodbye, taking instructions to go shops with the list, get dads lunch and feed the dogs...
I got to supermarket and the tear damn burst, so I spoke to myself:
"Stop for a coffee, take a moment for you. Bro4 has interrupted this post x6 wjile trying to type.
But I've recharged a little, not sure if up to facing him & demands for money. Hmm, poor mum. Will take dad up to se her tonight 🙂

Re: Sleeping too much
How beautiful that you could ease your mums worries by taking out pen and paper. She maynot say it out loud to you - but to me it's obvious - that she is very thankful that you are there. Her allowing you to help her - is her way of letting you know. Probably not how you would like to be told. But again - it's her reality - it's her way.
Fingers crossed and prayers for your mum. Don't forget to look after yourself too - as much as possible. Call lifeline or the nearest mental health team - when you need to talk - or get some help.
You are doing an amazing thing for your parents. I'm proud of you.
Sending you a big hug. ♥♥
