Re: Sleeping too much

Love the 'firtalizer' for TS plant idea F&H, made me laugh out loud. Could still do that. I have chook poop lol, and Her B'day is 8thNov & my dDIL is 9th. Neither have time for me but I did send nice plain simple not too much effort cards yesterday. Well, sent TS's to mum to fwd for me. Probably end up in the bin or lost by mum but I've done something. Tried. But planting something on their birthday, that's a lovely idea.

Just watching the neighbours cat at the moment, so cute chasing butterflies & lizards under my mulberry tree in the sgade. Think she comes over here to get away from crazy pup house mate at home (next door). So many butterflies this week. They seem to like the dandeloin I've let go to seed this month (fancy that). So grateful for my garden really, hard work but even the work itself does me good let alone enjoying it afterward

Anyway, thanks for the fertilizer laugh, that's made my day 🙂

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member. You need to remember that revelation. Unfortunately no one can take the place of someone else and no one can make us feel whole. That's up to us - but with a lot if help from our supportive mental health team.
But yes - I do get it. I'm lonely for someone special to share my life with. Not to fix me. I don't need fixing. I just need to be as healthy as I can be. But it would be wonderful to share all my ups and downs and even my mundane boring days with someone.
Sorry to hear your mum used to do welfare checks on you. Yes the neighbour's seeing it all.
I don't know what meds they put my dad on. But he was zombied out for over a month. Unfortunately he needed to be - to keep him safe. He had PTSD undiagnosed for over 20 years (Vietnam war). He also had a horrific childhood that he never spoke about. But it was easy to see. By the time he was diagnosed - it was simply a case of removing as much stress from his life as possible. Towards the end of his life - he was happy with his life. So that's a relief.
No, unfortunately I have no aboriginal blood or history. Just a huge love of their culture and the fact they are the worlds oldest living culture. Still surprises and annoys me - that people aren't amazed by this. There is just so much we need to learn from the first peoples about looking after our land. I wish others would listen.
I always say a prayer when I go and sit on the rocks in the mountains. I can fesl it is a special place - a sacred place. It's not hard to pick up this feeling. I do hope it's a new one for the database. Then the Heritage group can investigate the site and then the Elders can be notified. Our local tribe died out a long time ago .- but there are still other tribes in their clan/group. So those elders will then take care and 'ownership' of the site. Bloody exciting.
What plans are you going to make today - or what would you like or be able to do for yourself today?
Everyday you need to do something special or nice. Even if it's just an extra 5 minutes in the shower or listening to some favourite old songs.

Re: Sleeping too much

@Faith-and-Hope. Yes I see it happening also. An integration of culture into the mainstream. Unfortunately it's extremely slow progress here in Victoria. But the local language has been rediscovered and taught to the young now (but not at school). We have a wonderful woman who has spent so many years - not just finding the language and creating a dictionary, but also working out the correct pronunciations - as it has been so 'Englisised' over the years.
Glad you also join me in one of my passions. Have a look at the post I just sent @Former-Member.

Re: Sleeping too much

Glad you are hanging in there @Former-Member

no, if the family is as fractured and disturbed as ours, it doesnt just go away after a nice dvd or drive in the countryside. It takes putting in internal protection .. but when we put up walls .. we close out good things .. so hard ..

Glad @utopia @Faith-and-Hope share love of country and first peoples.

Yes I love bush tucker and the new fabrics with Aboriginal designs .. Only buy a bit cos not a big spender .... but still issues to battle with the diabetes everywhere ... always feel privileged if I get to have a chat with a koori I meet while out and about.

My son has gone now .. we played scrabble last night which was good ... he is seeing 80 yo with his girlfriend and then coming back home on Wednesday for dinner. There is a bit of a spiel about "assessing" me ...

So I am trying to enjoy time alone .. we will see how it develops.... gf was nice today .. but comes in front door without knocking .. and startles me a bit .. is it fair .. its fair to ask her to knock .. before she enters .. isnt it?

I am afraid I will get in trouble if I ask for anything .. but also a bit sick of all the presumptions ...

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Appleblossom

You can mention that you startle easily, and ask would she mind just givin a light tap on the door before opening it to warn you that someone is coming in.?

I am glad that is something I asked of my kids when they were small, cos the amount if eye-rolling and mouthin off I am met with now is reduced on what it would have been otherwise ....

😆

Hi @utopia

This is what I think that our spirituality come from what is RIGHT OUT what is in front of us. It's getting in touch right there. What is right there.
