Re: Sleeping too much

@utopia, you said "hi Tawney, we might just get a chance to talk today - instead of missing each other. How has your week been? Any plans for this weekend?"

Thanks for asking, apologies in reply delay. I don't have plans for the weekend other than home stuff. How about you? As for my week, well, a bit of a blur, trying to get things done, walk 3-4times a week (murder lol), walking buddy has been disappointment, gardening a bit more. Regressed a bit, danger signs coming up re ignoring phone & door & disappearing into my bubble. Not sure how that will go. My mother's aggression, son ignoring my text msgs again and bro in MH hospitsl put on mind numbing anti-psychotics and a couple of painful anniversaries looming, and I don't recognise the person in the mirror anymore, and feelinf so desperately alone in the world... well, that pretty much accounts for how I'm feeling. Cement mixer. Dunking wave, washed out to see in a rip... here I am treading water just trying to keep my head up and not swallow too much salt. haha! So, how's your week?

Re: Sleeping too much

Trying to wade through all yesterday's posts - so many, everyone sounds so progressive, good to see. Concentrating a bit hard. 3am here and I can't sleep. Time for a cuppa 🙂

Re: Sleeping too much

Oh @Former-Member. Such a bloody awful time you are going through. I wish I could taks away some of the pressures for you.
Loneliness of course will come up when you have so much going on. I know it's when I wish the most to have a partner to talk with - someone to give me a hug and support me as much as possible.
Your son will respond when he's ready. Frustrating, but you will just have to wait for him unfortunately.
I can remember my dad having to so doped up on medications - to me it was like he'd been given a horse or elephant tranqualiser. Hard to see it when it's someone you love. But eventually the dose will be reduced or tolerated more by your brother.
Good to hear you walking regularly. It's one thing I'm still not doing - that my gp and psychologist tell me to do - exercise.
My boy is going on the train to Melbourne this afternoon to meet his dad for a sleep over. Last time he went on the train by himself - I was a nervous wreck. Mind you - that could be because his dad and he couldn't find each other for 30 minutes. I can feel the anxiety starting up - even as I write this.
I found an Aboriginal Water Hole or Well yesterday. Just got email confirmation that that is wgat it is. The Aboriginal Heritage lady has to wait to go into the office on Monday to check if this find is on their database. But she cant remember hearing of one in that location.
I'm so beyond excited. Would love it to be a new find. I love reading about Aboriginal culture. Never thought I would find something though.
So I'm too excited to sleep much.
Try and make sure that you do something nice for yourself this weekend. It's very important - especially if you feel something may be starting to slip. That's when you nurture yourself more.
I'll be thinking of you and waiting to hear what you have managed to do for yourself.
Sending you hugs.♥♥♥♥

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

Thinking of you .... 😘

I got a lot done yesterday, but came home exhausted ... and the next couple of days are going to have to be putting a lot of stuff in order around here .... I have done all the hunting and gathering, now I have to do the organising .... have family to catch up with before we go - BFG-style .... this is WH's family .... while we make it work in the moment now, there has been a lot of uncomfortable history .... we are not really a fit .... sort of like getting on with other kids at school cos you're in the same class every day, but not really on the same page .... made more awkward by what's going on with WH. We do okay. Not what I had expected .... working with what we've got .... 😏

S2 has stepped up his piano. Raised the kids to play for their own interest ... now this one is taking on assessment and grades .... first one coming up, but he's buried in uni work .... end of year assessments. Haven't seen him out of his bear-cave much in the last week, keep sending in food, and plates are coming back empty ... don't think he's sleeping much, but I am giving him space .... got to balance out the WH micro-management for him .... throwing myself into all my clean-up and sort out instead of worrying about it ... 💜

My D3 "helped" me with my iPad yesterday .... my phone emails were ipdating by my iPad wasn't .... and j was tired and frustrated and grumpy about it .... so she confiscate it from me - taller and with a longer reach, and getting as bossy as D1 now - and managed to wipe 3 weeks worth of emails from it ..... grrr ... 😳:face_with_rolling_eyes:😠😞 .... they're still on my phone but e screen is much smaller of course .... didn't help my tired and grumpy state of mind ... have managed to resend some from my phone to my iPad, but there are too many .... have to sort it today .... maybe after my walk .... sigh .... she meant well.

Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning @Former-Member. The threads were busy here yesterday. I didn't feel like being at home, so I tracked along with some of them while I was out, intending to do a catch-up last night, before the. D3 iPad thing. Hope @Former-Member is okay.

🌷💕

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Faith & Hope, Thinking of you too .... 😘 Glad you got a lot done yesterday, makes exhaustion worth while. Good luck putting stuff in order, never been good at that myself. I'm better at the 'hunting and gathering' than the 'organising' lol
Not sure why we feel we have to put everything in order, everything before we go away, instead of just going. Good to be prepared i guess.
Hope WH's family are m and to you. Be interesting to see if his ed expectations on you are less away from home. Also, maybe others will notice & say something, maybe 😏

S2 sounds 'up to his eyeballs' in responsibilities. Piano grades, uni assessments... Boys love their bear-cave.
Like you reminding me to throw myself into all clean-up / sort out mode instead of worrying about things... 💜 Bit deeper than that here but a good reminder yo put hand to task.
Can't imagine you grumpy but understand the D3 iPad frustrations. We get so hooked on our gadgets it will work out. Hope you oh got your walk in.

I'm feeling ok this morning thanks but my circumstances & troubled loved ones are the same (out there).
Well, better get doing something. Been sleeping in the lounge room a long while re sorting bedrooms, sigh.
Chat later 🙂

Re: Sleeping too much

Lol ..... have to clean up @Former-Member .... the honeymooners are coming back to stay here while we're away ..... can't leave too big a dump here for them .... but I won't get it all done, believe me ..... too many mess-makers not enough tidy-uppers .... only me usually ..... with some two-steps-forward-one-step-back from D2 .....

In a sense, WH has it right ..... keeping busy in his "lifestyle choice" is numbing out whatever pain he has that he can't face up to .... it's just that he's gone overboard .... and he hasn't done the face-up-to but either yet .... your efforts are showing me that he can get better, but his struggle will be daily and huge as well. I know you have pain in not being able to help your family @Former-Member, but you have already ..... you could have been a real biatch back to them and escalated it all, and not had the gentle to-and-for moments that do exists in the midst if their chaos. You do have the odd lovely gift or phone call .... make that count for something ..... it's not a ledger to balance .... the good weighs heavier than the bad, if you can see it like that ..... keep adding to the good. Plant things all over your garden for them, and ten the Bro4 plant, and the mum plant, and the Bro3 plant .... even the TS plant .... buy her some good fertiliser on her birthday next year !! Some really good :pile_of_poo: .... okay ??

💜

Re: Sleeping too much

@utopia, thanks for your lovely supportive post rrply, means a lot, breaks feeling alone. Surreal really because most my concerns are not in my face (all live a long way away) butostly my mind. Stupid really. Doubt any of them put me in the same light.

Do sometimes wish I had someone close to share my day with at night - someone to share hugs with and reassure me, put things in perspective, or even just talk about the weather and the news... ... You 'get' it thanks. I think loneliness is ad debilitating as any mental illness, its a cancer of the soul.

Yes, my son will respond when he's ready, what choice do i have? Really hppe hes ok. Not gonna be like my mum who gets police to do a Welfare Check on me if I don't take her calls for a week or two, and there they stand, in uniform at my front door, makes car and all for the neighbours to see, and frustrated by inconvenience look down at me and say "ring ya mother" Here I am trying to protect myself from her abuse and the 'law' come tell me to behave. Haha! Bit like family court telling me i have no right to prote t my D1 from her dad (god took care of that one). Actually, mother hasn't done that for a year now. I'd never do that to my son, take away his dignity like that. But it does make me miss my girl more & the family I never really had. Guess its not fair on him to secretly expect he fill or those roles for me, impossoble really - there's a revelation for ya, hope I remember it.

What medications was your dad drugged up on? Does, did he have MI?
Hope the powers that be do eventually sort out my bro4's dose to reduced his suffering yet keep his personality. Sad.

With your boy going on the train on his own to Melbourne to stay with his dad, is that a long trip? Guess all we can do is 'street wise' them, have details well listed & think positive. Imagine he'll get good at this trip. Mobile phones help. Being a nervous wreck over it doesn't help, why do we do that?

That is very exciting you may have found an "Aboriginal Water Hole" or Well yesterday. Do you have Aboriginal ancesters? Its wonderful how you value our land and cultural heritage.

Yes, trying not to beat up on myself, my nurturing project default is bed & dvds but getting sick of that. Putting my thinktank on - hmm, maybe a footsoak later.
Hugs backatchya Utopia, let us know how your son goes & the waterhole. And, yes, what are you doing with your 'me' time? 🙂

Re: Sleeping too much

@utopia

Thanks for sharing your news about the waterhole find ..... I have a strong empathy for our first people and hope to see their languages and knowledge of this land elevated to it's rightful place within our society .... have a personal wish to see the local aboriginal dialects taught in our schools, and bush tucker in our supermarkets, adaption of bush cooking in our BBQ cookbooks, aboriginal fashion designers etc. it's happening ....
