Re: Sleeping too much

Thanks for all that @Faith-and-Hope, its been going on a long time & my last visit with son & his frequent criticism of his childhood & my parenting... I think it hasn't helped, especially if he voices his opinions to her/them when seem to have replaced me when I had the serious breakdown the year D1 died (did some stupid things that year, not at them, just in general). Being a victim is how he's dad operates, getting me to feel sorry for him... so... Not that I want to S1 down in the slightest, I love him & he's a quality human being, and I miss him. Anyway, future DIL is hard to read & not giving toward me but I have no choice but to bite my tongue & stay in the background. Just wish I wasn't so damn lonely. lol

My side gate was open again early today, a big stray dog came in the yard again. Must padlock it. Humans can just step over the fence so not sure why its getting open.

My T-Spine radiology comes with unreported CD images which I had a good look at last night, well, still in shock at the amt of degeneration & misalignment. Any wonder I'm having pain. Not skilled at reading x-rays but can't see any obvious fracture, but will wait see if they call me back (as they did with the uterine hyperplasia). Its probably a case of pain management though, and weight loss, hmm. Disappointing. Let you know the full report when it comes in. Think @Decadian sure knows about all this stuff.

Ha! Sitting on the veranda writing b's and the gate just opened again so I had a look and guess what the dog is back and he is opening the gate clever little thing so I'm all paranoid about nothing a padlock certainly sort him out. He's very skinny.

"Parrots feeding"

made me a little ... momentarily happier @Former-Member

@Faith-and-Hope and @Decadian do both have years of experiece and honesty and tact.

Still I can learn and have enjoyed all the conversation on this thread.

have a good day all

I am struggling and will go to my own thread.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Appleblossom,
Sorry ya struggling, keep talking to us, I only just starting to feel I know you. Excuse my ignorance, but which is your own thread? Can I come visit u there?

Yes, my fav bird that comes here is the yellow head Rosella's. They have several colours underneath which of cause is the usual viww. They're normally very timid but today the saw me go outside & waited by the feed tray & came in for a feed before I even got inside. Love watching them. The pigeons are many, about 12 but they have a sueprising behaviour code where they weight 'till parrots finish, interesting. Sometimes the rainbow lorrakeets come for a feed - love their bright colours. Winter is when I see them most in town.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hold to your dignity @Former-Member .... that little DiL can come to you when she is ready to be a bit more respectful .... and generally life teaches them that they don't know it all .... and they are not superior .... and you are not trying to compete with her for your son's attention ....

Even if he has grizzled to her side about you, good heavens you have had so much that blind-sided you, I would like to see how they would have handled it without dropping some balls along the way .... and yhe only appropriate response is gratitude that your son has come through it all as lovely as he has ... thanks also to you !! You managed to keep at least one hand in the wheel on such a rough road .... more than most of us would manage I can tell you !!

You need to be proud of yourself Tawney-girl .... you're a Phoenix and they will eventually recognise that. Just keep rising above it all. View is pretty good above all the cr*p .... 😏

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

Because I have had chronic pain for so long - yes - I do know a bit about the spine - my lumbar spine is way out of alignment with disc degeneration - called DDD - and some stenosis of the spinal cord canal - that is - the lower discs are pressing into the spinal cord and causing compression

From what you write about your T spine - or thoracic spine - you have compression and misalignment - which would be extremely painful - I could ask how many pregnacies you have had and how long you have had this pain - but that mightn't be helpful except to say - yes - this would affect your spine from carrying weight on your spine yes - but also - every pregnancy can drain the calcium out of our bones and can cause osteoporosis - and that makes us vulnerable

However - you need more than xrays - you need an MRI - even a C_T scan can't really help this - an MRI requires a specialist to order it - if your GP orders this it will cost you around $300.00 - and imo this is necessary and you need to insist on it - that is - seeing a specialist - and saying how bad the pain is and generally being a squeaky wheel

And with pain this severe - and I know it is - you do need a pain specialist - and pain clinics vary - I was very lucky - after I had my first MRI there was no argument about the degree of pain I was in - and after having a few conditions that were requiring surgery I have had a few MRIs

All the best with this

Re: Sleeping too much

My family got more disparate (?) over last decade. No, I never had kids, enough hassles with immediate family lol. I'm nr2 of 4. Parents coming to end of twilight. Have occasional sporadic contact with younger brother. And parents when I ring. Parents busy dealing with and incapacity, death, the rest too busy being successful😀
I guess I never grew up. Sucks a bit as get older, was mostly good tho. Well I did spend decades shut in a room on my own with alcohol stereo and cat lol. I got up after rehab ten years ago, probably paid 200, 000 in tax, had a few hols.bout it.
Time to reboot maybe

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @TAB

Let us all hope that there is a part of us that never grows up but retains a child-like joy in the world -

And maybe if we still have that child-like being within us - life can hurt us more -

Yeah - thinking - that's about right

About a pain clinic - I was seeing a pain specialist in the private system - but I was incredibly lucky to get a referral to a really good pain clinic - and I can hardly believe how lucky I have been

I wish people had more access to really good pain management - there isn't much I can say about it here because it involves medication and other kind of treatments which vary everywhere - and between people needing it

But still - don't lose hope - there are good Pain Specialists - it's just a case of finding one - and this is harder if one is strapped for cash

But I really do hope you find someone to help

Decadian

Re: Sleeping too much

True re hurt. But also true re no responsibility and only harm self if things going bad.
Most of time pain free. It can really bite hard and long when it does and it's happening more often as get older. Maybe private is an option. Have had before. Trying to avoid it

Re: Sleeping too much

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope, for your encouragement re family matters, you sure have plenty of experience. Yea, I will work hard at maintaining my integrity (&:politeness) now everything doesn't hurt me so much, it was ao hard when they started datinf 5yrs ago, just aftwr Jo died, when they started dating & he came home much less, and every little thing made me cry or secretly SH or bomb out on pain killers. He even looked me in the eye that easter & said he can't handle the way I am and he''s going to have to distance from me (u got no idea how hard that was to hear, from my only living child when, when i'm secretly using him to not die). It devostates me & none of my blood took time to come be with me. I lost the plot & ended up in hospital a month. He only makes it home once a year now, twice if I'm lucky. Its like everything is lost. I'm teary just talking typing about it. Anyway, you're right, they'll never know how it was for me. Says he's never gonna be called to ransom by having children. Yet under this tough facade I know he's a softie, and he's good to her from what I have seen.

I do worry with her double degree in law & psych that she may have some preconceived assumptions about me. Not even S1 knows where I've come from & through. Never been interested & I didn't advertise my functional past. Anyway, have to go. Thanks again. What have you been up to?
