@Appleblossom
Yeah .... vague ap can be difficult sometimes .... 😏
I'm to doze off, so might say G'night now ...
💤💕
Hope you sleep well at some point tonight 🌷
BTW .... didn't mean to be dismissive of your CSA content by not mentioning it .... I have picked it up in previous posts, and feel for you so much .... you are a survivor in a very organic, authentic way @Appleblossom ... you have used hateful life experiences to fuel your personal growth, and provide vehicles where possible for justice to follow the path of truth and shed the light of transparency over what has happened .... and that transparency lights up the whole landscape !!
Truth has a dynamic of its own, and cannot be concealed indefinitely. Integrity wins over in the long run, which you already know, and others are learning ....
🌷

Thanks for acknowledging that @Faith-and-Hope
CSA is not a flippant issue... but sometimes its best mentioned using caps.... too big for short posts.
Good night ... sleep well ![]()

Re: Sleeping too much
FACEBOOK WOES: I couldn't access an old deactivated facebook account so tentatively opened a new Facebook account last week, to see the photos of my boys grad when they come. He 'friended' straight away but his partner & her mum haven't responded to my friend req yet, even after having such a great day with them at his Grad. Last week. Don't understand & it upsets me & I worry for my kids hanging out with people who treat me with contempt. Really struggle with this. Asked my boy about it & of cause he didn't know, said they haven't said anything. I'm guessing maybe social media gives people to much opportunity to 'leave me out' which triggers my already low self esteem. This is why I unfriended everyone & deactivated my last account. Silly but maybe some people just don't have the temperament for it, me. Anyone else have issue with this.
Gotta go try get some shuteye , check in later 🙂

Hi @Former-Member
it will be a while til I get a daytime rhythm going ... so I am up
have done my piano and recorder practise and just going to start my singing.
checked emails ... fixed posts yadayadayada
I have to agree ... contempt is not a good sign in inlaws
I am not facebook person ... never opened an account .. as I was not even going to leave myself open for such upsets.
a gentle nudge may have a place ... but I dont have a good barometer about those types of things ...
so ... unsettled feeling ... relevant but not worth letting other people's rudeness overwhelm you.
Protect self .. make stance and be done with it ..
note to self .. if son has issues in future ... you can be there for him ... but you have not stimulated the issue .. just been open and convivial
Dont know what others including mods would think ...

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi ..yes have wiped entire friends list, a few times, not recently, had relatives never refriend me, have other relatives who never reply to anything .. have had a few good long convs with some that hadn't seen since childhood though ..am wondering about father's birthday in 3 weeks.. every one could be his last and its the only time I see sibling who has added me to 'reject' list .. well in in real life, not fb..
..at xmas, I decided to make the trip across nullabor, from my self imposed isolation from family I guess, only to find out the 'the rejecter' ie sis, had already been there with kids a week before.
..hope I dont feel as weird as I did around them last time..if they happen to be there at same time.. oh well, maybe I'll get there super early, make it harder for them to avoid me lol

Re: Sleeping too much
'Morning @Former-Member @Appleblossom @TAB
Copied and pasted this for you from another thread I posted on last night Tawney - someone getting a strange vibe from their MIL .... if you react against his in-laws it forces your son to choose, and that won't be good, no matter what he does. Here is a middle path that has worked for me -
I had big problems in this area with my in-law family in the beginning, which is a long time ago now. My MIL is the matriarch of the family, and she had major, major attachment issues with her sons, which I was not aware of.
She started out very sweetly, for my husband's approval, but progressively became a frenemy ... then actively nasty behind his back ....
Won't go into the long, horrible stories .... hopefully none of them will pertain to you ... but I can offer you a couple of pieces of advice.
I expected, because I was open, interested, and accepting of others, that I would be accepted and treated in kind .... this is actually a gift. It's something that the other person has to offer you of their own free will, and some never do. Wait and see whether your MIL is willing, or even able, to do this. Don't wear your heart on your sleeve with her.
Secondly, it is very hard to fault you if you are polite and unassuming. I advise you to remain on that footing until you feel comfortable to relax that guard that you are feeling rising up within yourself. I perceive that is your intuition telling you that you are not comfortable with something about her, but you are unable to put your finger on it yet.
If you remain polite, she will be the one to break that dynamic if she is not projecting her true feelings.
If she does relax with you, it is easy enough to relax your politeness to something warmer and more companionable too.
If you do that - relax - then find her becoming controlling and difficult, it is easy to step back behind the politeness facade and retain your dignity, and a sense of personal control. With a bit of practice, the "relationship" can stay on this footing - ie nothing actually broken, and still functioning well enough to not make problems for the one you love.
There are a lot of if's there, but your senses are telling you something ....
I would proceed with caution .... sweetly and politely 😏 anyone rocking the boat is not you ....

Re: Sleeping too much
Thise who love you can recognise that you have stepped up to the higher ground and are holding it, but not vindictively .... and you are leaving room for anyone and everyone else to join you there ....
And the ones you love love you more for having the strength and integrity to do that for them.
Very little of it needs to be spoken. These are matters of the heart.
