Re: Sleeping too much

Bit late checking in today @Faith-and-Hope, how are you and the family today, baby dragons & baby dulphins. You're a joy.

@Appleblossom, thanks for repeating all that, must be hard. Don't take this the wrong way - but what a trainwreck 😞 Not as severe but I feel the same about my family. Its amazing any of us survive. You must be so angry with your mum, your parents. People might jusdge us, MI, (blaming is easier than helping) but if only they knew how well we actually are doing, what we've endured / survived. We are many.
Need to hear your encouraging words about my kids, if nothing else I did get across that love for music. My son has once or twice thanked me for that.
It lifts my spirits to hear about you & your son doing music.

Just looked up drugs for BiPolar (always suspected it on my mums side) and realiswd My last psychiatrist (6yrs ago) was treating me for bipolar. Bit slow on the uptake I know. I couldn't afford to keep seeing her & didn't find it helpful anyway, but it does make me wonder. Not that I'll run with it, survived this long without help.

ATM my mood is OK, not high or low, just flat line, but gotta keep the anxiety under control with the x reappearing, playing games. frightens / intimidates me. Also need to somehow get my focus together, to finish tasks.

Hi @Former-Member 😊

Been out walking - no dolphins this morning - have decided on cheesecake for breakfast today .... found a special on - cake with a coffee ....

Yep. That'll do ....

D3 made a deal with the school counsellor to come in for Period 3 and go to class today .... so I'm not much good at home stooping around waiting for that to happen .... especially as she will stall and mope and make life difficult for me to take out her frustrations ....

So I have deferred to cheesecake for breakfast !

I'll be around when you've finished tasks. Have my own waiting when D3 tooshie is at school ...

Re: Sleeping too much

OK @Faith-and-Hope, sounds frustrating, the waiting game. I try have things in hand to do while I wait, helps.
Just booked that X-Ray for my spine, gave me curry all night & I haven't done any lifting this time. A real pain in every sense of the word. Not looking fwd to the drive 🙂 Probably won't find anything - need a CT or MRI I think. But have to just go with the flow. Chat later.

Re: Sleeping too much

Was hoping you were ok @Former-Member .. sorry for repeats ... but sometimes a repeat has less sting or agony and so it is actually healing.

Thanks

@Faith-and-Hope I actually did know what day it was ... but circadian rhythms switched ... so it did not SEEM right

Yep S1 is down the coast ... back tomorrow ... so I could just crash sleep and recover and not do anything except feed cats etc

Re: Sleeping too much

Sometimes I lose myself in the days of the week @Appleblossom ...

I can go right through Tuesday thinking it's Wednesday for most of the day ! It's worse when there has been a public holiday day, or a commitment like church attendance has changed from Sunday to Saturday one week ....

During school holidays I don't even focus on what day or date it is if I want a complete brain rest ...

Re: Sleeping too much

lol @Faith-and-Hope

Sometimes I dont know what month it is or what day it is ... used to ask my students .. lol

but even in the midst of all my recent turmoil .. I wasnt time challenged recently .. made all appointments .. but a bit late ... to one ... cos got dealt an unexpected whammy .. which put me in the spin ... while out walking and driving in peak hour ...

but dealt with situation ... clearly

put flyers up for upcoming concert ... in public relevant CBD musicy location ... when asked how I was ... by another gnarly old type ... admitted ... "FURIOUS" ... but nicely and well intoned .. filled up my water bottle .. and let the people in authority in that church contemplate their navels ... til round 589034 ... and went and sung fabulous music in better choir with better musos and more interseting people ... but I still love my old church ... so we will see what happens long term.

One thing about rage is that if the fire in the belly is legit ... then it keeps us keeping on .. like bloody fly spray.

Always lovely to talk to you. @Faith-and-Hope now I am over my rage about not having enough of same.

And finally dont always have to dumb things down.

Girlfriends Aye??

Re: Sleeping too much

@Appleblossom 😊

Had major dramas at our church, trying to get a youth group off the ground after a 30-odd year lapse .... and found out why .... there were members of the church council who were power-game players and were holding the church community to social ransom ....

Okay .... so you start by presuming there has been some sort of mis-communication, right ?

Then you try to play nicely, and ask and expect them to do the same ....

Nope .... !!

Grrrr !!! Did I see red at that point ,... but the experience of my in-law wars had already taught me the lessons we needed ....

We had several years of appalling behaviour that scandalised the whole community .... but ... the true colours went on show ....

Within the next couple of rounds of council elections the offending members were replaced.

We are having to rebuild the community, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on perspective .... 😏

Re: Sleeping too much

@Faith-and-Hope
It may be worth pointing out that in today's society where the church doesn't hold the dominant place of yester-year it is youth groups that will see continuation of our churches. Our youth of today will be our leaders of tomorrow. As older people of our congregations it is our role to mentor our young folk and slowly start to hand over leadership to those who will continue our beliefs long after our demise.

Re: Sleeping too much

Completely lost on the old council members @Kurra !!

Unbelievable, isn't it ?? Couldn't see past their own noses .... walked all over the kids in their power-greed.

It will take a little while to rebuild our youth attendance after such a shocking display of callousness during that time, but we have the faith and hope, and determination, to bring our youth forward into their rightful leadership positions in the right ways.

Re: Sleeping too much

Unfortunately relinquishment of power is not easy for those who are desperate empire builders.

Churchy or secular ... same problem.... hooooman beans.

I am in a really weird position that genuinely makes me fairly detached and non partisan about church and state polemics ( that word again.)

My father suffered CSA in a RC romcath orphanage

I apparently didnt know til a few months ago .... but it all adds up ... and have documented proof .. as a bit of a bureacrat ... if I can do it for the govt ... can def do it for me ... even if it takes 40 years for the paperwork to roll in ... I suffered CSA in a state orphange ... found the RC orphanage better ... well kinda ... relatively speaking ... being an optimist and all that.

so I informed my church because they were all S**TTING Brix ... waiting for my hearing ... that my 2nd RC Royal Commission submission re me ... is actually not about them .. so they are off that particular hook ...

I play fair ... and am raising my standards ... if they want to play with me ... and make beautiful muooooosic ... they better play fair ... and its coming into my attitude at least.

Another comment I made yesterday ... in the music library at church was ... noting a particular "***" takeover to someone ... as in cliques and stonewallers etc ... I am not really that interested in power games per se ... I like being a free agent ...

but sick of being pushed around and learning to name the game.

You are both mentioning the fantastic long term ethic and structure that churches of all denominations provide or SHOULD provide...

rites of passage and

hospitality & inclusion

longevity

handing on of GOOD tradition and cultures

leadership formation

after the quick fix money grubbers come and go ... and the church is still left standing ... protected ... by some ... at least ... genuine good will on earth.

I love it that this church I go to ... is still standing and my father took my there before he died in 70s ... and mum and both my kids have played the grand piano there .. me to of course...gotta get better at being vague again and not giving out identifiable info.
