Re: Sleeping too much

Good on you @Former-Member vacuuming and moving the lawn, wow! I don't do either. 😂
We have tiles and wooden floors, I'm always sweeping and mopping.
We have half an acre, so hubby mows on the ride on. Tried mowing once, it's hard work. 😯😂
I've always hated vacuuming, not good with noises. So you have really achieved today. 😀💗
That's great your son is doing so well. It makes our life happier to see them succeed, that's for sure.
Sorry to hear about your daughter. 😢💗

Hi @Former-Member. Did you just do a me and pull your post😜 How are you. I've been really busy for the past few days so I haven't caught up on much. Travelling surprisingly well considering the clock has struck midnight and it is now a Thursday. I hope everything is ok💜😊

Hi @Faith-and-Hope

With your Dad - he is seeing that you have WH problems with the main player in denial - unfortuneately nothing can be done until WH sees the problem and does something about it - oh woe is WH - does he get a pay-off from all his misery? Probably - but while he sees it as everyone else's fault - he won't

I am right behind you

And D3 - which year is she doing now? Is she happy at school or would she be better doing an apprenticeship? I don't know if she is just being a kid not wanting to go to school or has other health problems - I need a refresher on this one

And someone else mentioned it about owning threads - we don't of course - but I haven't established my own thread now so I think I will continue with "The Anniversary" after all - thata's where my angst springs from

All the best with your family @Faith-and-Hope

Re: Sleeping too much

Thanks @Decadian

I will do a recap for you cos it's nice to understand when people and sharing on the threads what their back-story is ... I find the empathy so helpful.

This is WH .....

My WH was a workaholic for a good 25 years, and while I would have said that was necessary for our work industry - construction - in hindsight I think our industry attracts people pre-disposed to workaholism .... and now I understand workaholism is a recognised ocd behaviour, it seems it might also be a trigger ....

As a workaholic WH gained a huge amount of weight .... again, it as though workaholism justifies BED, which is an excessive over-eating eating disorder, which he had for most of those years .... when he did lose weight a couple of times, it was through extreme diet and excercise methods that most people would consider unsustainable - "crash dieting" and excessive exercise ....

So of course when work commitments crowded in again, or there were massive disappointments or circumstances that interfered with his ability to sustain such rigid boundaries, the weight piled back on, and more ....

Once we sold the business about five years ago now, WH again set out on one of these "sea changes" and threw himself into the work of losing weight and becoming healthy, and he did it under doctor supervision, so you would have thought moderation would have prevailed ..... well that's what the doctor thought was happening anyway ....

Meanwhile WH was veering into the extreme and excessive control behaviours that are ruling his life now ... and he thinks his new body shape and rigid control are healthy, but they are not .... he has overshot the mark and at the moment we have lost him to this eating disorder ... and it seems another underlying mi is driving this as well.

We are struggling with his mood swings, need for excessive control, psychoses, emotional detachment, personality and values changes, etc, along with watching his physical decline and spdistorted body image. The driven nature of his exercise regimen is stressful to witness in itself.

So that's WH ....
