Re: Sleeping too much
One thing I miss, since the children have gone, is nobody checks in to see if i got home ok after a long trip. I miss that. Of cause blackdog interprets that as 'nobody cares' & i may as well... ... Glad the Holy Spirit gave me the thought to visit the widow from church on the way home, people contact makes a difference, and i was even able to give, to help her with a problem on her mobile phone & bought her, us a pie being almost teatime.
Hows ya dad recovering? Does he see whats going on with your hubby? That would req much diplomacy on his part i would think 😒
Did i tell you my dad crashed his car twice last week, wrote it off, he's decided to hang up the steering wheel, finally! (so pleased about that). For more than x10yrs he has no sensation in lrgs from knee down (diabetes) and with his cognitive decline he's been a risk for some time. Glad nobody was hurt. Only 3 cars & the neighbour's fence & garden. Poor nassasist mother has lost her driver "what use is he to me now" she announces. Poor dad. Getting old is not easy.
I'm impressed that you go walking every day, how did you motivate yourself to get started? I really need to.
Suns not even up and I'm wide awake. Gonna be a good day.
Thanks for connecting with me, means more than you know. My hidden blessing 🌷

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member
I'm up too early here too .... but that's okay .... might doze off again ,it I think I have had at least 5 hours sleep ...
Turned my phone to silent earlier, and glad I did. I have been receiving text messages from D3 from her room ... after being put on antibiotics for her cold yesterday, she came down with a migraine .... apparently ...
After trying to exaggerate all her symptoms yesterday, and the dr putting her on an antibiotic, but saying she was fit for school anyway .... she is wanting to decide when she is fit for school, and is making herself not fit for school !! I could see this coming from last week ... so glad he also gave her a psychologist's referral .... just so not up to playing cat and mouse with her at the moment.
Its only a three day school week, and with a sports carnival on Friday, she had already decided there would be something wrong, and she wasn't going to be going to school .... I need the psychologist for her !!
Yes ... my Dad can see what's going on with WH. Everybody who has any lengthy or regular contact with him is starting to realise there is something not quite right .... but it starts with that feeling where you think you must be imagining it ... even his family have started onto that page now. Last year it became easier to just fess up to all my nearest and dearest, cos they could read distress signals in me anyway, and I was needing support and understanding to be able to keep holding things together.
My dad is recovering well .... much relieved to find his ear issue is "just" a fungal infection, easily treatable.
Bet that widow was so glad you dropped by 😊💕. How lovely that you made time to have tea with her ... Way t go @Former-Member ❣ You're a treasure.
Yes, I can tell it was empowering to see your ex in a different light. That is another gift that has come out of this graduation, and it sounds like there were many .... same sort of priority got your butt into that car and on your way as gets me down to the river to walk .... if I don't, I will likely become ill from circumstantial distress .... I have to keep going .... talking to the EDV counsellor yesterday, she stressed again that I must be very strict about my self-care .... which also involves prioritising and guarding my sleep patterns ....
Its a balance though .... thoughts and frustrations going around and around in your mind can hamper your sleep, so sometimes the best thing to do is have a little whinge or rant, and get it out there. Someone else hearing you and empathising can be enough to be able to doze off again, and I think that is one of the great values of this forum ,... the fact that it's 24/7 ... and mental health issues are not 8/5 ....
Good to hear that your Dad has been relieved of chauffeur duties with your mum ....despite the fact she would much prefer the two of them continued to wreak havoc in support of her self-interests .... at least that much is a load off for you .... Glad nobody was hurt in the process.
You have been a hidden blessing for me too @Former-Member 😊 It flows both ways ....
Fnd a way to have a lovely day ❣
💤💤💤 ... 💙

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi everyone. I hope that you don't mind me including myself.
Sounds like most of you believe in God. 😊
Congratulations @Former-Member for your son graduating from university. You must be very proud.
And that's fantastic that you drove 3 hours to get there.
Oh my gosh! I haven't driven that far on my own for years, well done.
Did you feel worn out the next day?
I hope everyone is ok. 💜

Just bear in mind that every thread you respon to will then be posting you future replies via email, and that can add up to a very full Inbox depending on how many threads to join .... but in saying that I am sure there will be a way to tone that back down a bit if it gets overwhelming. The mods will be able to help you if you find yourself there ....

Hey @Former-Member and @Faith-and-Hope
Just wanted to let you know that you can manage your email subscriptions so your inbox doesn't get flooded with updates!
Click on "My Settings" in the top right hand corner. Then click on "Subscriptions and notifications" and under that "Notification settings". The bottom section, "Email notifications" lists the different things you can be notified of. You can set them all to "never", or make it so that you get notifications only when someone mentions you or likes on of your posts.
Hope that makes sense!

Thanks @Former-Member I might look into that at some stage. At the moment I dont receive email notifications, too many to cope with.
Even when I delete emails, they often download again, grr! ![]()

Re: Sleeping too much
Thanks for your encouragement for your making it, driving all that way on my own, for my son s uni graduating. Think its the first time i didn't get lost or heavily tempted by suicidal thoughts in 5yrs. Yes, i was unwell the next morning but took it easy & came good. Broke it op over 2.5days.
Yes, I am very proud of him, very proud! So worth the big effort. Wouldn't miss it for the world i kerp telling him. He has worked so hard, and battled glandular fever, post viral fatigue, major depression when his sister died & his family fell apart & had to repeat semesters & drop back study loads etc, and work, but he got the right help & much prayer, & a sensible partner (support makes the difference) as well as determination and he got there. P.T.L. He already settled into the workforce & has his own business building websites. Self supporting for 2yrs now.
Thanks for chatting Bridget
