Re: Sleeping too much
Hello, How are you doing after your difficult week? Didn't get your message until well after I'd left Sunday but was touched by your concern & well meaning advice. Just had to go to his Grad, the collective simply don't understand MI & would hold it against me as attention seeking or so... (if i wasn't there). And i love my son too much not to at least try harder, even though alone, i had to push it.
It is very difficult for me to self assess, to know what's real & what's blackdog, or anxiety, or if I'll crash & burn (excuse the pun), but at least the roads were quiet, being Sunday, & i put a fav CD movie soundtrack to escape to in my head.
Think also, sopping & typing here, to you guys on the saneforums, in the moment, it really was therapeutic. Nobody in the world knows how hard it is for me to get out the door some days, and I do usually disappoint by cancelling - without Just him too much to let him down for something so huge as a grad. // You know i forgot to eat breakfast & lunch - just sipped tea & nibbled nuts while trying to pack, with brain block, all morning, sounds back-to-front but in retrospect I discovered mind is sharper without the excess food (I think, actually felt physically nauseous anyway). Not gorging is a breakthrough for me as I use to self medicate & distract with food a lot, subconsciously.
Anyway, hope you got the message that i made it ok, just have to drive home tomorrow now, but at my pace. Might even indulge an icecream. // Also, i'm CONCERNED FOR YOU as you seem very quiet, after a difficult anniversary week - are you OK?
Be gentle with yourself there. Take care 💕

Hi @Former-Member
I am glad you were able to face the "collective" and go to your son's graduation - I did know you finally went - I read that yesterday when I was finished posting myself but did not post anything myself
My week - I was in Canberra last week - it was excellent - I did what I went to do - to have time out and see the War Memorial - I enjoyed having the bits and pieces of my life attended to by the management and staff at the hotel - room service and dining room - and I used the computers at the hotel to keep in touch but there was a limit of how long I could be there
On Saturday - the day came home - I woke up with a terrible feeling of utter desolation - this was the anniverary - I rang Life LIne with my mobile phone and needed to do that twice to get myself together to get packed up - but I managed all of this and then walked around Canberra for a while and had a great flight back
Yesterday the whole thing blew up in my face - you know how this can happen - I woke up with a headache - it was agony - I felt so sick I didn't want anyone around - and for whatever reason I didn't get the help I need with the domestic stuff here - and it was been over a week since anything was done here - someone is coming today and I could not organised myself into anything - but I had the doctor treat the migraine - today - yes - I feel as if I have been kicked in the head - I always feel like that after a migraine
But the anniversary has been and gone - and what has often lasted about 3.5 months from Easter until winter when my son was in Juvenile Detention I have not been fit for man nor meast - I found this website among other thigs - and it has made the time better than just bearable - I feel useful here and I have something to offer - and people really care
So this bad spot in my life has passed again - and the spring is on it's way - we had 17 here in Melbourne yesterday - and I hate winter
Thanks Tawney

Hi @Former-Member
I get migraine rarely - but around this time of year they arrive with monotonous regularity - one or two every year - and probably the lesser ordinary but bad headaches are eye strain or stress
I take a few supplements in my diet - one is for arthritis with fish oil - krill - and I also eat salmon - I take vit D and C and probiotics - but I missed these when I was away
In fact I really missed my salad - I started to crave raw green food, celery, snow peas and cucumber - and I have had someone take me shopping today - and I will be having my salad tonight
I am really glad you took that drive to see your son - I was concerned about your driving when you were feeling so bad - but it has worked out well
And I love kookaburras too - I was on holidays once when they were so cheeky when we were eating breakfast on the balcony they were trying to pinch the food off our plates
I woke up feeling washed out and exhausted - and started to feel hungry - but the agency that takes care of the help I need sent someone to vacuum and so come cleaning and take me to the shops - sometimes I get flustered - I had a man here fixing my TV and the helper turned up and it was someone who needed to be told everything - no - I am not picky about what they do - but two people asking me questions at the same time when I was feeling fragile was a bit too much
And the phone rang two or three times and I got a text - I used to cope with things like that - I must be getting too tired for all of this
I didn't eat dinner last night - I will feel better when I have caught up with myself
Thanks for your message

Re: Sleeping too much
Yeah ... started out a bit wobbly this morning, but improved across the day ....
Got my butt out walking (no dolphins today ...) which helped, and should give me a better sleep tonight too.
How are you doing ?
