You are right - my mother played up like a bad child when Dad died - hey - we all lost Dad and having her carry on the way she did at his funeral really cut me - she would not let me grieve for my son - even at his funeral - and this hurts to this day and I guess it always will

But I did visit my mother for a while when she was put into the part of the facility for the "naughty people" she told my dd she didn't want to see me and she told me she didn't want to see me - and when I rang up on her birthday - she gave the phone to the nurse and said she didn't want to talk to me - and the nurse took the phone from my mother and asked if we were estranged and was sorry - this happens

Anyway - your mother - I am glad she has the phone - and I am sorry she is bored - boredom is corrosive - but her choices may be few - I am sorry the chuch doesn't come in anymore but if she wants to see a minister I guess one could be arranged - it's really hard you are so far away - it seems to me you really care but distance is making it difficult

And meals - yes - I cook a little - prepare simple meals - I like to eat what I like when I like and feel narky about hospital meals - I will be independent until the end I hope - aw dear me - they call it the Golden Years but I don't see much gold in the later years

2,000 miles must mean interstate phone calls - did you know you can arrange to have cheaper phone calls built into your telecommunications bundle - I have so I can ring my uncle when I choose -

I will be thinking of you and your Mum @TAB - these times are difficult

it;s all fine @Decadian am just thinking about it too much. I ring her on my mobile, no such thing as bundles or different types of calls here lol and she does still go to church I think, although dad lost his licence recently at 92, that was his birthday present lol, but others can pick her up if she wants to

yeah it's not all doom and gloom, it's in eye of beholder @Former-Member lol ..the only jobs I talk my way into are the really high end ones,which are very few and far between these days, but still have have the quals, mostly my resume gets the jobs haha, just gotta work on the person who takes them haha

and yeah @Former-Member, departed friend who was beneficiary of my blinkered largesse used to speak of short arms long pockets, and having to work on lengthening arms, saying it's not flat and stackable ..its round , so made to go round ..haha ..I still remember the look on my sisters face couple years ago when I said I was in a relationship with a witch(not same person just mentioned) ahh life .. and choices.. wouldnt swap the good bits though
