Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Faith-and-Hope yes was supposed to be very windy, didn't really notice it, may go for short walk soon, had unaccustomed long one yest, so nothing too much if do get there. Guessing the daughter separation will be a process and not linear, you'll always have the memories anyway and get to be a prouder mum watching her create her own life

Hi @TAB
You have told me enough without going into details - and you need not. Let's hope that tacky side of life - (wills and favourite kids etc) - can all happen without nastiness
I would find being in a home pretty boring - I have my own stuff here - I call it my toys - I enjoy my stuff - I play the piano and computer cames as well as chat on-line - and I read a lot - I find TV leaves a lot to be desired. Does you mother like movies and can she have access to a DVD player - if the home is what it should be there must be all sorts of activities - but of course - your mother has to like doing them
When my parents went into a very classy home I did visit - my father kept the lid on my mother before she got dementia - and there was plenty to do - but my mother had some kind of paranoia about the way people behaved - she told me if people "played up" they were sent somewhere else and they were going to behave. My father was a gentleman to the end - my mother couldn't cope without Dad and ended up in a different part of the facility - I wonder if she ever figured it out - I have never understood it - and no one has ever answered my questions
I hope you can visit your mother - and about mail - did you know you can get postage stamps more cheaply if you are on some kind of financial assistance from the Government
Thinking of you @TAB

Re: Sleeping too much
We have a horrible wind blowing here too @Faith-and-Hope - most unpleasant - and I need to post a letter today - I hope I will go out but walking in a strong wind doesn't help my physical well being at all.
Yes - it is the way of the world for young people to move on and into their new lives as married people - is it a chorus or a hymn - "A man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home" - there it is - it doesn't say a woman should leave her mother - but it will be different. Are they moving far away?
There will be one person less in the house and it will feel EMPTY
My dd moved out when she was 17 to live with a boyfriend - she told me when she moved back home for a short while she had wanted to play house - but once that step had been made she had to keep going and moved in with her H2B until they were married and they still are and it is working out well from where I stand
When she married she got instant family - she was super-busy for as long as it took - and went back to work when my gd was old enough for school - it was all so long ago - and apart from glitches we are still close
I hope today is a good time for the coffee - enjoy yourself with your daughter while she is still single - when is the big day - I know it's soon

Re: Sleeping too much
@Decadian yes, toys are good .. and maybe what your mother said was actually true re people who 'played up'.. I guess it's not really stimulating re mum in home to state the B obvious.. church used to be a distraction, but they don't come there anymore think. they used to hold a service there. yes she has own cd player and all the usual classical music, just bored I guess. she probably doesn;t know what a dvd is haha, but sure someone has suggested it. she has her own phone which dad had to pay for to get put in, guess she cant pick and choose who she associates with now, can't cook for herself or others, has to eat what she is when at set times etc
