Re: Sleeping too much

@Faith-and-Hope, i do have a weekly pill dispenser but thought it was Saturday, go figure & foegotton I'd taken Friday. Actually laughing at myself just writing it, what happened to my nurse brain?? lol. This lingering cold isn't helping.

@Decadian, you 'get it' though further along than me. I need people like you to pave the way, how to go it alone. Thanks.

My pulse has come back up to 70 now.

@utopia, how are you?

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

I am happy to pave the way - so to speak - if your heart is playing up then it is not a good idea to wait and see what happens - I have had the paramedics here for asthma - I have a puffer - I hardly ever use one but I need it here - I have had to use the nebuliser a couple of times

And even if chest pain is only heart-burn it can be extremely painful - it is better to have it checked out - and the paramedics are very helpful - and for people who live alone it can be very touch and go at times particularly with breathing trouble or chest pain - as I said - we can be so sick we don't know how sick we are

And I feel vulnerable at times - I got the Me pacs alarm after I got sick from food poisoning - baby spinach that was contaminated - a lot of people got sick around the same time. I was ill - and asleep - when someone rang me - and I could not stay on the phone - I had to rush back and forth to the toilet - and after 2 or 3 times there was no one on the phone - and I flaked out on the bed and a few minutes later I go a call an ambulance was on the way. My dd got me some stuff to rehydrate on her way home from work and the locum doctor gave me an injection for the stomach pains which were monstrous -

So my agency pays for the system - or someone else - I would pay it myself if someone else didn't - it is invaluable to have it -

Of course I am supposed to push the red button on the top between 6.00am and 9.00am to let them know I have survived the night - if I don't they said me a radio message to press the red button - if I didn't - I would have an ambulance at the door as soon as they could get it - now I am used to waking up and pressing the red button in my sleep just about -

But I am so glad I have this set up - I wear a wrist band with a button on it - I wear it in the shower or bath even so if I get into trouble there I can still use it - if I press the button on the wrist band they will call me on the phone but I can talk to them over the radio if I can't get to the phone - it's brilliant

You can get info on the alarm - I just thought I should not be putting their name here - but let's leave it once and see what happens

I hope you are okay - people living on their own are a bit at risk

Re: Sleeping too much

He's a tough old bugger, could do 20 pushups clapping his hands on request at age 60 .. also mentally tough.. seen and done things I would never want to see or do.. we're like oil and water a lot of the time, but he's special @Decadian

Re: Sleeping too much

Of course he is special @TAB - at 92 - wow

My Dad passed a few years ago - nearly 91 - and a really decent and noble man until his end

All those years - I was lucky - I had a conversation with Dad just before he died - the kind everyone should have with their loved ones - I was lucky
