Re: Sleeping too much

I was close to my father @TAB - but not my mother.

Which one had the strongest effects on my life - well - Dad was academic - taught me a lot - and among those - how to sh oot - I was a tomboy -

My mother though - died recently - fairly recently - it was harder have her leave because there was too much unfinished business - and somethings can never be healed this side of life - but I learned a lot from her too -

Re: Sleeping too much

Well that's good @Former-Member .... you're pulse settling down again ...

Now what are we all going to do to stay in the right day ... ? 😆 I do that sometimes ... but then there's a big difference between not putting the bins out cos you thought it was a different day, than a meds issue ...

I did take the kids to school an hour and a half too early one day .... grousing at them for being late (!!) cos the alarm clock was electric and there had been a power cut during the night that changed the setting .... it was only when I had dropped four of them off and arrived at pre-primary to find it locked that I twigged .... 😳:face_with_rolling_eyes:😮😣 .... had to run back around picking them all up again .... and feed them a proper breakfast ❣

Re: Sleeping too much

I was way closer to mother than father, and only ever had one grandparent, the rest were overseas and or died not long after I started school and yes, I lost count of poor creatures I shot. But there you are. Wise departed friend who used to be an RN and a Matron before losing plot decades before I met her, had a lot to do with dying people, and just used to say 'regrets' ie not what have you done but what did you want to do and didn't .. @Decadian

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

My cat is really clever - I guess that the two of us being here alone means she focuses on me a lot - and right now she is curled up in a corned of a chair near where I am sitting with my computer on my lap

I am getting a bit tired of her wanting to sit on me all the time - it's nearly time for her check-up so I will go to my local vet I think - rather than the animal shelter - I don't think she has any pain but cats hide their health problems - and she is really annoying at times

But she can count - if I am holding the door open I start "One.......TWO .........THREE.......... and she will run straight out of the door or just turn around and jump onto the couch and settle down - and now and again she gets put in the bathroom with her water bowl and litter tray and I forget her until I hear a polite little "meow"

So I think we have each other worked out

Is your Mum on holidays or has she moved back to Europe - I am glad she has gone back there though - my grandparents were longing to go "home" to England - and finally they did - they went on a ship and when they came back to Australia they never went overseas again -

I often think of them leaving England with Dad when he was only a toddler - they never saw their parents again - or Dad - and I have this picture in my mind of mym great grandparents waving goodbye to the ship leaving London - I know millions of people did this - but I think of my family of course - and atm yours - it must be very hard

And mother's often have a sixth sense - I do - my mother did and her mother did - but it seems to have stopped with me

Anyway - violin lessons - fantastic - have you ever played the violin or another instrument? Can you read music?

I can read of course - though I hardly remember learning - I could read simple music when I started school - my gran taught me before I was 5 - and told me I would be glad when I was older and am I ever - I have picked up playing the piano in the last few months - I am into classics but I can play Country and Western by ear

All the best with your lessons - it will be a challenge but I think you already know that - the violin would be harder to play that the piano I think - and certainly a guitar - not keyboard and no frets - work needing a keen ear - wow - wtg

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member. Hi. Yes I'm doing well. Always have a huge sleep after a psych session so had a huge sleep in this morning. But feeling good.Bugger - spider just jjumped at me while I was outside having a smoke. Talk about heart attack. For a fat chick - I moved pretty fast. Sorry. Going to rephrase that to a big woman.
Just about to take my tablets. Bit late tonight.
So glad to hear your pulse has settled down.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi again @TAB

I don't have regrets that I couldn't have a conversation with my mother because she kept ordering me away if I visited her and wouldn't speak to me on the phone - so that was on her side - nothing I could do but write - and I did - about once a month - always asking her to let someone know if she wanted to see me and I never heard from her - she had the regrets

I am sorry about that though

About family - I grew up surrounded by parents and grandparents and my bro and several uncles and another sibling a bit later - i can't imagine not having all those people around growing up - my parents were very young when I was born too

Of course a lot have dropped off the tree now - and there are more to go -

The thing is to enjoy people as much as possible when we can - and that may be that we can't - and we need to accept the other person's boundaries -
