Re: Sleeping too much

Dear @Former-Member

I'm so proud of you to call your Son. Congradulations for looking for the good in his life.....

This is my little dog, Arlo. He is about 6 years old. I think he was from a puppy ferm, I got him for free about 18 months ago and he was very very sick. He's just spoilt now.

ee my loungeroom, full of my knicks and knacks which sit on my book shelves that I find for free on gumtree. And a dolls house.

Night night @Decadian.... Night night everyone, great messages.....PP

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

I wasn't abused in care - I was abused by my own mother - and she abused my little brother too - and he is an alcoholic now

I was very young when I turned on her - maybe 4 years old - when I saw how my brother was when she bashed our heads together. I heard from Life Line that there are children who do attack their parents - I have often wondered where I got the permission to do that - but she gave it to me I think - I actually am beginning to believe that

As I got bigger my mother got into emotional and psychological abuse - and that is worse - and as I reached adulthood I stayed away from home more and more - and as a married person - saw my familty less and less - and I guess that was a regret my mother died with - she would not have understood I forgave her - but I can never forget - I remembered things at her funeral that stay in my mind -

And no one has the right to abuse their children - but it happens

I didn't abuse my children - but I yelled a lot - but even then - I was not abusive - I mainly yelled that I was angry - and did they feel happy that I was angry?

It was hard with my adopted son - yes - he had withdrawals as a baby - I had no idea at the time - and he started drinking very young - and the younger the start the worse the problem - I have learned

Problems run down through the generations - it's mysterious - these issues are only on my mother's side and I resemble my father's side - and life always seemed pretty sound there

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @PeppiPatty

I can read enough of the Greek Scripts to understand some of that - and I think this is what I am replying too

It gives me a bit of a headache though but also makes me feel pretty clever

Okay - in my marriage - things disintergrated because I lost respect for the man I married - yes - he liked to stick his backside into the room where I had guest and fart - laughing his head off while I nearly died with embarrassment - but I was young then

Why go into details - I am sure you know - but living with someone for whom you have no respect causes all sorts of destruction - I am a better person in so many ways - and I am pretty sure that so many years later my ex is pretty much the same - and I am glad I am out of it - and a few months ago it would have been our 50th Anniversary - but I have celebrated my 25 years of emancipation

It's not good to pay money just to hate hate hate hate - I know - cause I have done it. And it must have been terrifying to have your husband so bad he couldn't breathe - and standing watching this a nightmare - I had a similar night when mine threw up blood everywhere -

Anyway - enough - you are doing good things helping your self-help and self-care - but supporting someone who does not care for themselves is enabling - but you have written in Greek Script so I am not saying too much. Self-care goes out the window unless you put yourself first constantly

Where oh where did I learn this? - Needing to be in survival mode I think -

It's harder to get out than people think - and I did not have the support of my family when I did - in fact it was months after when I got a call from my father at work who wanted to know what was happening

I've said enough - but I will be back in the morning if the world is orderly - and last week was not

I will be thinking of you

Re: Sleeping too much

Thank you Ladies @Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Decadian@PeppiPatty@Former-Member

It was a privilege to read honest experiences of marriage and motherhood. Yes women do get to carry the can. No I did not mind the work if it was going to be productive. There comes a time when you do have to dignify your own efforts and if they are being repeatedly rubbished, it wrecks the LIBIDINAL economy. So the guys have to go figure ...

I had a boyfriend for 4 years who did the fart thing. For him it was an expression against his mother's social ambitions but i got to endure the dark smelly side while he smoooshed up to mummy.

For so long I thought that was my job to put up with bad behaviour, but then of course there is the problem that too much endurance of it ... becomes condoning it.

I actually thought of you all individually, and many more from on the forum, in my second mass today. So in a way I offered up the mass for you. I am very weird in that I dont really have faith like @Former-Member .. but I keep doing it anyway ... but its far more than empty or meaningless ritual ... I am also afraid of preaching or alienating others ... it is just what i do to get by ... I say I theologise .. cos I did lots of feminist theory and the liturgical theory and the blend of them is powerful .. like Mary Ward.

Re: Sleeping too much

That is so great to read @Appleblossom

I wonder about men and their mothers - my MIL thought my husband was so wonderful - talk about a spoilt rotten son - I could write a long book about it but why bother - it's just somewhat helpful to know I am not alone having to endure little blys' bathroom humour

And my boyfriemd's mother was dead - and there are none so holy as the dead - so I was competing the a dead woman and did not live with this guy - even as his girlfriend he wanted me to clean his house but didn't trust me - ENOUGH - I am not alone - this is better than good to know.

btw - I didn't clean his house - I had my own place

Because of my spine and my church having Holy Communion at 9.00 am - I don't go - but I am still part of the community - I miss it - but when it comes to faith - yes - I have it

I know going to Mass is not just a ritual - it has profound meaning - and knowing someone is offering up a Mass and including me in the service is special for me - thanks for that

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Faith-and-Hope, i'm here, just found ya post, felt lonely so made a couple of calls which went well. Checked the mail, emptied car, bought in washing & folded it. But that was enough to spasm the back, grr, low thoracic this time, annoying cause I actually WANT to do stuff. The only thing that helps is laying flat. Anyway, short spurts is the key. Need to tidy kitchen. Inly 8° in my house at midday. Brr! Love the baby dragon pic on the other thread, made me smile. How are you?

Re: Sleeping too much

I'm better at this end of the day @Former-Member.

Survived D3's carry-on this morning ....

Went out for lunch with a friend after that, but the savoury section of their cafe was closed by the time we got there ...... had to have carrot cake and a coffee for lunch ....... such a shame ❣
