Re: Sleeping too much

I understand about the IBS @Faith-and-Hope I used to suffer terribly with it, until I discovered which foods were making me worse. I used to be in tears from pain in the gut. Nuts are the worst for me, especially almonds, oats and alot of other foods cause me alot of pain. It took a while to figure out which foods were causing the trouble, but I'm glad I did. I'm alot better now, as long as I'm careful.

I remember years ago, being awake all night (I'm not joking), crying in agony after eating Bolognese. I think it's the acid in the tomoatoes. I can eat bolognese occassionally now, but back then I was eating it often (I love it). Anyway, just wondering what your daughter is eating that is causing her terrible discomfort. It's awful, I know.

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member ....

The biggest catalyst appears to be stress for D3 ..... and she keeps engaging in a pattern of skipping out on classes then stressing out the consequences re catch-up, missed contact time, and late assignments .....

One of her sisters has an issue with a product associated with gluten - not all
products with gluten in cause problems but we haven't identified the offending product yet - so this might be an issue for D3 too. She had pizza last night .... but she is also getting stuck into chocolate ..... possibly another offender there .....

D1 has struggled to resist her favourite foods in this category, but I am goin to take your advice and advise D3 to avoid these two things for the next three weeks and see what happens ....

Re: Sleeping too much

Could also be candida. I had same issues with tummy troubles, aches, growing up. Turns out I'm gluten, lactose intolerant. Of recent I've worked out overload on man-made additives triggers me too. Celiac runs in families, but more diagnosed now. Years ago people put up with things, not knowing. Elimination diets should help you suss out suspect things.
I recently got a book on elimination diet - all possible scenario's. It depends on symptom list as what to exclude. I'm bit hands tied, but I can give I name of hospital in nsw that prints book?

Maybe, and feeling ya 'can't take anymore' Might put a 'deep good' movie on. My dad just rang, liked the gift I mailed. But my son tried to ring at the same time, couldn't get through & sent a curt msg, & not answering my call. Big Baby Dragon!), feels something's wrong. What more can I do?

Dear @Former-Member

Sorry about the cold. is it a virus or bacteria?

I have found that anything that makes me more vulnerable .. can allow SI to return. I am resigned that the bloody blighter is with me for life ,,, so have to learn to BOSS the blooming bastard around ...

You have worked reallly hard physically. You have achieved good practical things in your home. You are tired out and need to cooton wool yourself til better. Hope you dont mind us visiting your sick bed. Tell me to get lost when you need a snooze.

Hi @Former-Member @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @TAB and everyone else interested

Part of my current flare up is that I have also been dealing with similar situation as Faiths D3 with my son. Re the children putting parents 'on hold' issue. Yes he has IBS too ... yes we are careful re diet etc ... but he also uses to avoid ... and avoid ... and avoid ... and I pulled the plug on it (him camping with computer under doona day and night for months on end. I told him he had better develop a schedule .. Monday .. is his deadline .. or Apple starts tantrumming making lovely comfy home ... less comfy.

Anyway .. I stayed home last night and calmly stirred my little storm in my tea cup .. and he stripped his sheets and bed before he went out ( i told him he better do it in no uncertain tone .. were a month old) and he worked (sang for money) and played went to concert with girlfriend and networked (in right place at right time) and got a lift to show up at "work" with right person and on time. Tick Tick Tick ... no phone here.

Today the kids went out, borrowed car and busked ... and just came home .. am hoping they will spare a little soup for crazy, cranky old lady in front of house before she throws her next wobbly.

All good at the moment.
