Re: Sleeping too much
@Former-Member I dont answer my home phone and they dont have my mobile number. This message was through facebook. I have deleted most of them, just need to block all of them.
@Former-Member Will chat more tomorrow and I will be more positive. Funny, well not really funny. I was remembering scriptures lately. My faith has almost been non existant lately, but its slowly coming back, then "BAM" someone comes along and tries to knock me over. I'll get back up again, I always do. NIght night to you and @Faith-and-Hope and everyone. xoxo

Re: Sleeping too much
I understand @Former-Member
Take yourself and cry as long as you need to - and I hope this helps
I had nothing to do with my family for years at a time - I get it - my mother was so bitchy it was the only way to cope with it
But my father overcame it - I guess I was his favourite - different situation with him
People do pay a price for this kind of treatment of their children - hard to understand why
Sleep as well as possible -

Re: Sleeping too much
I'm really glad you didn't get hit @Decadian and I'm so glad lifeline help you.
Im sorry that I'm not communicating very well. It was just the events of 5 yrs ago that reshaped my life that has repressed thoughts and memories of my life before then. These events reshaped it in such a way I can never go back because I'll never be the same person. By writing this I guess I just realised why I've forgotten so much, maybe it's a protection thing to prevent me from idolising my old life. Anyway it's really complex and I guess I know it's a bit of a tangle to understand. Both my old psychologist and current therapist always describe my stuff as complex so I guess it is. The stuff that bought me down has been described by all the clinicians I've seen as the perfect storm for me.
I totally agree @Decadian that the things I am learning on here are invaluable.
headspace is a mental health organisation that caters for 12-25 year olds. I'm hoping this is not triggering for you @Decadian but it would have been a great place for your son as they cater for all youth mental health issues and it's free. I so wish that these services were available back when you were dealing with this. My son will see a GP and a therapist there.
Hoping that you continue to climb your mountain, take care💜😊

I am so glad you are a get up again person. I have adopted the sane forum as family. My kids treated me as a nobody and were encouraged to do so. It is not right and I really do think a lot of it comes from the wider society.
I found my Chinese and Indian students and their families so much more respectful ... but each culture, family and person has different strengths. My son gradually realised I was being treated with respect by my studio families and slowly that changed his attitude and he realised I have some qualities.
@Decadian Glad you did not get hurt ... reversers should always look .. I will try and take a leaf out of your book .. and stand firm for what I know is right more ... take care ... I like your day to day stories ... and your reflections.
Dear @Former-Member and @Former-Member see how easily a thread can morph ... if everyone is happy about it .. its fine.
I just got invitation to sing back with old choir and they may throw a little mooolah in ... yay ... when i first sang with the conductor years ago .. it was a contract and paid gig ...
I wonder what will happen with the bully and me ... we will try and keep it no- nonsense, well mannered & polite.
Will I ever get them to honour the RUOK day???

Re: Sleeping too much
Thanks @Former-Member
I think I am past my triggers atm - thanks for telling me about Head Space - it would have been great for my son - there was really nothing for him back in the 1980s - he did see a psychiatrist but he was 16 and under the Privacy Laws he had reached an age where his interviews were private and this did not help me help him
And I don't know whether he would have ever co-operated - he could not stand pressure of any kind - he was a very unhappy person - at least I know he is at peace now
I understand about your situation being complex - and whatever happened to re-shape your life is hard to explain - I think I am always doing this myself - I have been dxd as "emotionally fragile" it suits me fine because it really fits - and I have blank spaces myself - but that might have been the good times - or times when chaos wasn't happening - and yes - Life Line helps - and I think my story keeps moving - but it is what my case-worker called "a huge story"
Share what you are comfortable with - I think I understand that you are picking through things and keeping what works and trying to build your life up again - and this is like picking apart a tangle because there are memories you want to avoid until the time comes
Take your time
I had a long time trying to work my mother out - this was a puzzle of Victorian Drama unfolding - it seems to go on and on - but I had this feeling like a big knot in my chest - and it was my childhood terror of my mother - and I could not - I did not want to - know what that was - but it was enough to make me faint after her funeral - it was overwhelming - and I still cannot write it - I find it hard to tell anyone who could help - but I do
I have been incredibly lucky with the people in my life who have helped - sometimes briefly - others long-term - one psychologist for the rest of his life - that is really something
I wish you the best - and I am interested

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Appleblossom
i guess that I'm a bit ocd (not really) but I like things to have boxes, I guess on here I get caught up with wanting topics to be in boxes. Ironically today in therapy one of the things we discussed was psychological flexibility. Thinking this could be at play with this and I may need to let it go 😬
Its great to hear about the choir. Thinking you need to write a song about mental health for the choir to sing😜 I hope lol goes well re the bully. I have a feeling you've got this covered now💜😊

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Appleblossom
I am glad @Former-Member is a get up again person - I am learning a lot here and feel this is my family too - we all have many different kinds of families and everyone cares so much about the others here too
It's good to know you enjoy my day-to-day stories - and reflections - my stories enhance my reflections - and so much a part of me that sharing them is natural
And yes - I was in the right with that car reversing like that - and not to argue the toss - after all - if I had been hit I would have been something they would have had to deal with in the courts - and no amount of yelling at me would change that -
My training with TS and my mother and my decisions of "non-argument" until it is worth it work for me. I do not have to worry about anything I said - things can get ugly if we try to argue the toss unless it is really worth the effort
EG
Have you heard the story of Fred O'Day
Who insisted on his right-of-way?
His mind was clear and his will was strong
But he's just as dead as if he was wrong.

All the best with the choir - good voice and good musical knowlegde - I hope there is moolah -
And also - all the best with the bully -
I hope things ROK -

Re: Sleeping too much
@Former-Member, my son, the baby dragon is definitely Affected not only by his father undermining me all those years of family court battles, but losing his sister to asthma, his father to deafness & his mothers breakdown the year of his 21st B'day. He has much anger to work through & since I am in fact the only constant since he's been a child (his dad was 'unavailable' his first 7yrs) it stands to reason I cop the brunt of his pain. The blame. I heard a saying: "people who complain about their parents ruining their life need to grow up" Bit harsh but blaming is not the ownership we need to move fwd. I think / hope when my son is more at ease in his own skin, he will value me more & be more kind. I think too, from what others say, boys (men) find a woman and their family of origin fades away. Once a fortnight contact seems to be what most mums get. My severe depression made parenting difficult without ANY support & constant court battles. Teenagers can be cruel too, so. Yes, a lot of it was not normal, and I yelled too much.
I don't like looking back. Can't change that but learning to be a better person, for me (not him or anyone else) and the delightful spinoff of that is others eventually notice & become more comfe with us. Or so I believe.
Hope you're OK, an achieve a couple of things tomorrow.
@Appleblossom, guess heavy bricks / house repairs are heavy work. And emptying the trailer at the tip. I have had a couple of ladies at bible study surprised that I do these things.
Are you OK? You come across well, really sharp mind, I enjoy reading your posts.
@Faith-and-Hope, better day for you tomorrow hopefully. I sure can relate to the warm feeling the green countryside brings, glad you got to do that today. Thanks for the callout to coffee this morning. Needed that. Hope to Do it again tomorrow.
Hi to everyone else, thanks for the good reads catch up next time. Sleep well 🙂
