having a bad morning

having a bad morning

I am feeling that my life at the moment is crap. I am so depressed and find that more so in the mornings. I hate myself so much, the way I feel, the way I act and behave. I know people will say to me 'oh just get over it' or 'you're not trying hard enough' - well to those people who say that: Do you have a mental illness; do you know what it's like to have depression and feel so dark that you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel; do you self harm to get rid of your emotions and to feel the pain; or do you think about suicide because it's all too much and you can't handle the pain anymore - NO. So don't tell me to just 'move on' or 'stop being too sensitive'.

I am not having a good morning this morning; tears are flowing as i am typing. And I have to get ready for work; damn work. Sometimes I wonder if life is worth living and why?

I really don't know how i am going go today at work; I feel so depressed. 😞

@Former-Member. I went to our larger town today to buy my son some shoes & pick up mums present - her birthday was over a week ago - but I've been sick.
So I get all the way home, unpack all the bags & guess what? Yep. Forgot to pick up mums present.
I hope you find the right dress soon

Re: having a bad morning

Glad to be here for you @BlueBay. 💜👍 Good to hear that you have hope. Life is way too hard without hope.

Oh no @utopia. 😮😂
Now you have to go shopping again.
Have you recovered from the cold/flu?

I've had enough of shopping, but I'll keep looking. Daughter just asked if we could catch a train to the city tomorrow 😯😮

Oh gosh! I don't like saying no, because I was hopeful we'd get away over the holidays, not sure if I'll feel up to it. Grrrr!
Was really hoping we'd do fun things on the holidays. I keep telling her, I am getting better and we will do fun things. Frustrating.

Re: having a bad morning

Hi @BlueBay

I have read your earlier posts - that your psyche can't help you anymore - I guess he is out of his depth - and that's no one's fault - it happens

Even though I haven't been posting I have been reading and I thought - "What the ......... - like what do I say to you about that?" Turns out you are on the waiting list to see a female therapist - if I had thought about it enough I would have thought of that - a woman will understand the events in your life that cause you so much sorrow and make your life hard to live.

Not that a man can't - but women and men vary greatly in their thoughts and feelings and how we approach life - I am sure many people understand that - I had a great therapist back in the 80s and 90s- he was a man and we worked well together - but he told me and asked me what is was about certain dates and anniversaries that caused so much anguish - I could not explain - and even to this day I don't know why we accumulate dates and anniversaries - we remember birthdays too -

So right now I am taking a break between therapists - and not in a hurry to start again - and this week I have not kept my thoughts in a straight line - so I have not been much use - but I did read that your psyche was angry that you went to hospital and that the CAT team was onto your case - and I tried to think up something about that - it felt as I had watched you walk into a door way and the was a door closed and no one noticed - and that was your niece's anniversary

A break and a change of therapists will be good - and maybe you will be less stirred up - I did read about your having a life-coach or something like that - no doubt I will come across that in time

You have been through the mill - with your nose to the grindstone and your back to the wall etc - and your psyche got frustrated - and it hurts when that happens - it has happened in my life - I had people burn out helping me with my son - and as a private English tutor there were students I had to give up on - I refused to take good money from the parents of children who were not co-operating

So all of us do what we can do - and things change

And my gut feeling this is a good thing

Thinking of you

Re: having a bad morning

@Former-Member. I have the opposite problem to you. I keep saying to my 14 year old - what will we do today - "nuffin". How about I take you and a mate to the bigger town and you can go see a movie - go rock climbing - go carts - laser tag - "nup". You going to catch up with a friend today - "nup". Don't make plans for next Wednesday or Thursday as I'm taking you somewhere special - "but what if I wanna see my mates".
Seriously - I can't win. But I just go and laugh about it.

Re: having a bad morning

Sorry @Former-Member - forgot to give you a positive. ir acknowledgment.
I'm sure you will find the energy to do something with your girl these holidays. But maybe pick a less crowded area. Is ahe into art - fashion - movies. See if there are any costume museums you could go to. Or a local art exhibition. There must be a way of both ofyou being excited by the oouting

Re: having a bad morning

@utopia Sounds like your boy is easy pleased and likes to be at home.

I'll see how I feel tomorrow before I decide what to do. We could see another movie, I guess. We went and saw Bridget Jones' Baby this week. Movies are cheap in our town, thank goodness. $20 a movies at the other place nearby. I think $20 is way to much for a movie, especially when we can watch movies on our internet. But I don't mind paying $9 a movie. It gets us out of the house. We went to a museum village recently, had a great day. Local art gallery, not much there at all. Maybe ten pin bowling, for something different. I should get the roller blades out one day and see how I go on them, haha! I prefer ice skating though. I need to get ready for bed. I'll probably get back on here later though.

Any plans for your weekend? I hope you're feeling better. You sounded quite unwell this week.

Re: having a bad morning

You're right @BlueBay

Abandonment is a very hard thing to deal with - and you have been abondoned by your parents - and like me - you are working through the dark time of your life without their support - ah sheesh

But rather - after all the shouting and the tumult dies there will be peace - you can make a new start and so many other people have chimed in here

@utopia@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@TAB to name a few - moving on - your parents abandoned you for their own reasons and they have most likely never told you why - but your psyche has told you he can't deal with some of your issues - and that's where you need help

Actually - I sacked a psychiatrist once - I had the feeling this guy was not right for me - I had a chat with another psychiatrist at the same hospital - same practice - and the new guy was great for me

And on reflection - it was a new start in my therapy then - and I did not see that psychiatrist for long - my life changed and things were quite different

I hope you get a really great boost in your morale from the this change - your later posts seem to indicate that

Lots of hugs though

Decadian

Re: having a bad morning

@Former-Member. Feel a lot better thanks. Just a slight cough left. But have the energy to get out and about now. Was depressing being home inside for a week, just when I'd started to do things and get out and about and have more routine.
I finished weeding the side garden yesterday. Finally.
Driving my boy to his dads in Melbourne tomorrow - so 5 hours in the car.
Planning to see Bad Moms at our small local cinema tomorrow night. Only $10 a ticket. I won't pay the big town movie prices either.
Next Wed or Thursday I want to take my boy to Science Works in Melbourne. They have a heap of school holiday programs - suitable for all ages - & he loves science.
I worry though - my boy is not motivated much with catching up with his mates. Hope it's just a phase. As I do worry about the genetic link of MI in my family.
Maybe your daughter needs time catching up with her friends and just hanging out with them. Just a thought.
Sweet dreams

Re: having a bad morning

@Decadian. Long time without talking, but I have been reading your posts.
A parent or parents who can barely look after themselves - well they just can't parent us - their children.
It's sad. It's hurtful. But I realise my dad did the best he could with what he knew of parenting - from his awful parents & what he could manage from his undiagnosed MI.
I haven't forgotten things he said and did during my childhood. I don't think you can forget. But I can and do accept that that's what happened. There is nothing I can do about it. And that it had nothing to do with me - my lovability - my personality - but was all about him. It was his burden to think of the trauma he inflicted. Not mine. I won't suffer because of his cruelty or his unintelligent mind.
So healing is possible @BlueBay.
If you haven't seen the webcast link on trauma - I'd highly recommend it. It reinforces the fact that you can recover.
I hope you are well @Decadian and I hope to catch up with you more - now I'm feeling better.
Night all

Re: having a bad morning

@BlueBay. I think all of us need reminding from time to time - that we are making progress towards better health. It's sometimes hard to see when your in the middle of everything.
But today you put on your strong hat. You did what you needed to do for you.
Well done
