having a bad morning

having a bad morning

I am feeling that my life at the moment is crap. I am so depressed and find that more so in the mornings. I hate myself so much, the way I feel, the way I act and behave. I know people will say to me 'oh just get over it' or 'you're not trying hard enough' - well to those people who say that: Do you have a mental illness; do you know what it's like to have depression and feel so dark that you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel; do you self harm to get rid of your emotions and to feel the pain; or do you think about suicide because it's all too much and you can't handle the pain anymore - NO. So don't tell me to just 'move on' or 'stop being too sensitive'.

I am not having a good morning this morning; tears are flowing as i am typing. And I have to get ready for work; damn work. Sometimes I wonder if life is worth living and why?

I really don't know how i am going go today at work; I feel so depressed. 😞

Hi @Faith-and-Hope@utopia@Decadian

Last night I was watching tv and started to feel pressure in my chest. I decided to go to bed at 9.30pm but couldn't settle. So i checked my BP and it was very high. i decided to call an ambulance and the mica paramedics came out first and did a few checks, my BP was 200/110. They decided that i go to a bigger hospital instead of the smaller one near me. Another ambulance came and took me off to hospital. They told us i would be there for 4 hours.

Well I came home about an hour ago. Spent the whole night there, they did blood tests, ECG, monitored my BP and then about 2.30am moved me into short stay. There they took more blood and just monitored me. By this stage i was getting very anxious and started to cry when the doctor came in. She sat with me and said it's okay to cry. I let out that i wasn't coping and was very anxious and stressed. She suggested she would call a clinician from the CAT team to come and talk to me.

So i slept for a little while, it's really hard to sleep in an emergency dept. At about 5am the MH clinician came in and she was lovely. i told her i didn't want to be admitted in that hosptial and she suggested we talk. i broke down and told her everything from my abuse, my parents, my MIL, my stress at home, my mask i wear etc etc. She looked at me and said 'wow no wonder you are stressed and want to run away'. you are going through so much trauma. She said she felt i haven't dealt with my abuse properly and need to still work through that.

She suggested EMDR therapy, so i am going to contact the psych i saw to have EMDR a fw years ago.

She explained how anxiety works in the brain and sends physical signals to our body and that is why we feel so physically sick. She was really nice. She then suggested that the CAT team will call me this afternoon to see how i am; and she is going to contact my local hospital CAT team to come and see me tomorrow and possibly each monday to check in with me.

She said i need not feel alone and do this on my own. she said it was okay to not tell hubby abnout my sh but i need to contact them if the urge comes again. she said that once my anxiety has eased and my issues are dealt with EMDR my SH would most likely stop, as i only sh the past 6 yrs when the memories came back. She also said she is going to contact my psych and will work together with him. I am so glad that i spoke to this lady today.

Just had breakfast, feel tired but i am going to try and go for a walk now with hubby. taking our umbrellas with us. i need to get out and get some fresh air.

So after all the tests the results came back all okay. The doctor has referred me to a cardiac clinic for possibly more testing but she seems to think it's all stress and anxiety related.

So that's my night - in hospital.

Hi @BlueBay 💜🌷💐

What a night eh ... ? You must be very tired after all of that .... but relieved as well ..... getting all the tests done gives you a physical profile which says it's unlikely to be heart related .... so that's one less thing to worry about.

I went to hospital last year in an ambulance .... it was a panic attack and the effects were like yours .... and I erred on the side of caution and sent myself to hospital ...

The test results are reassuring. And having felt those sort of effects of panic attack I determined not to go there again if I could help it .... so I am that much more careful about managing the stress of my situation. I stepped up the self-care .... and I hope you do too ❣

HI @BlueBay

Wow - what a night - I am glad you did go to hospital though - and as things sometimes work out - the right person turned up and heard what you are saying

It seems to me that things worked out very well - everything possible has been checked and you are going to try EMDR - something I am very interested in too

A night in the ED is far from peaceful - esp if they are looking for something - that must have been rather horrible - been there - done that - and what a gem that lady is

Stress does stuff our bodies up - I saw something about it on Insight last week - it has a name - but people can be really ill from stress - and the reverse - develop stress from having a illness

I know I had a lot of stuff happen when I was stressed out - several operations that were necessary - oh it can be so scary

It's great you are okay - what a night!! - Saturday night and Sunday morning

And this lady with check on you - this is so good - you are not alone

Hi @Shaz51@Decadian@Faith-and-Hope

I'm feeling a bit off. Slightly light headed but i did manage to go back to sleep. Woke up before had a small bite for lunch (not interrested in eating) and took Jersey for a small walk around the block. I wasn't power walking today, just a small stroll taking in the nice fresh air.

I now realise what stress and anxiety can do to my body. But at the time i wasn't feeling anxious so that's why i don't get it and was concerned it was my heart.

I am so glad i went too @Decadian because now i have another support person (CAT team) who will call me and come and visit me on my day off.

I have emailede the psych that i saw a few years ago reg. emdr. hoping he replies back to me tomorrow.

Just now as I am typing this i received a phone call from the CAT team from my local area hospital. She wanted to see how i was and if i had a sleep. We talked about sh and she said that she thinks if they come in to help that there may be too much therapy support. she said she will discuss this with her team tomorrow morning and call me back.

Thanks guys for the love, support and hugs. you all give me soooo much more than anyone else has in my life.

By the way, the other day a lovely customer wanted to see my knitted bags (i wish i could put them up here but i am still confused as to how) and she loved them. She looked at me and told me she was so proud of me for what i achieved.

I went home and thought about her and what she told me, and i thought - you know no one has ever said that to me. Not my mum nor my dad. No one ever and i started to cry when she told me.

Re: having a bad morning

@BlueBay. Sorry for I've only just seen your post. Just slept for over 18 hours. Obviously my body needed it. As you are learning - our anxiety and depression can cause physical illness or make our physical illnesses worse.
So I'm discovering that physical illness can really affect my mental health and moods / depression.
I'm so glad you rang the ambulance. That bp reading was awfully high. And what great treatment this hospital gave you. All the medical tests you needed as well as providing a psych nurse to come and sit and listen to you. So glad that you opened up and were 100% honest with her.
And she mentioned EMDR - seems to be popping up in your posts recently. I see this as a positive sign.
And then to have the CAT ph you to check in on you. That must be comforting.
I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight and that tomorrow is less stressful and more relaxing.

Hi @BlueBay

I am suddenly feeldsing really useful because I can tell you how to get your pics up here

You take a picture of your bags with your phone

And you email the pictures to your computer

And then copy the picture from your mail box to your pictures

And name your pictures - eg - bags in shop, or knitted scarves

Then when you put up a new post - click onto the little square with the moutains - it will say "Insert Picture

And a form will appear - saying "Browse" and you can find your bags etc - and enter that name - "bags in shop" and you can put in the size that will fit - if it won't you can make it smaller - and insert

And your picture should appear

Like this

There's my cat - her name in this site is Snugly - I was fiddling around in my phone photo-shopping yesterday - most of my pics are too big but this one is fine

Re: having a bad morning

@Decadian I did it!!!! Here are two of my knitted bags.

I have made another one which is bright pink.

Feeling very emotional today, crying for no reason. Well actually there is a reason, it is my nieces 3rd anniversary of her suicide. She was 23. 😞

I am trying to stay busy with housework (never ending) and may go for a walk down the beach later to remember her.

I feel so alone today, lost, confused.
