having a bad morning

having a bad morning

I am feeling that my life at the moment is crap. I am so depressed and find that more so in the mornings. I hate myself so much, the way I feel, the way I act and behave. I know people will say to me 'oh just get over it' or 'you're not trying hard enough' - well to those people who say that: Do you have a mental illness; do you know what it's like to have depression and feel so dark that you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel; do you self harm to get rid of your emotions and to feel the pain; or do you think about suicide because it's all too much and you can't handle the pain anymore - NO. So don't tell me to just 'move on' or 'stop being too sensitive'.

I am not having a good morning this morning; tears are flowing as i am typing. And I have to get ready for work; damn work. Sometimes I wonder if life is worth living and why?

I really don't know how i am going go today at work; I feel so depressed. 😞

Re: having a bad morning

If the dr is saying it's not dangerously high @BlueBay .... then just keep resting as he says .... he is your care provider so you need to follow his advice .....

Find a gentle movie or something to distract yourself with ..... it's not easy, but you can do it ....

Re: having a bad morning

Hi @BlueBay

The suggestions other people have given are good - and so give it a little while and see how things go with some rest and thinking whatever kind of thoughts help - or yes - a peaceful movie

However - if things are bothering you too much you can ring Nurse on Call and talk to them. I have the number if you want it - I speak to them sometimes and there are times when I have taken their advice and other times when I have not - but talking to them usually settles me down

Or - if you have tried relaxing etc - you can ring an ambulance and tell them that you are concerned - that you have spoken to your doctor but you are still worried - and you have tried whatever you have tried etc - and they will come and check you out - and not necessarily take you to hospital - I have had calls because of asthma - I have great lungs and a great heart - I am always told - someone in the future might get a great heart lung transplant from me

Here's the thing though - your doctor is your first and main provider - you can ring him and say you feel you can't wait another day - things are piling up on you - and that you had a hard session with your therapist -

Do whatever feels right - you have some good options here - I am always amazed at how quickly people pitch into help -

But listen to your heart - your emotional heart - it's had a beating - do what your insides is telling you to do

You are pretty good at asking for help - this is a good thing

Re: having a bad morning

Hi @Decadian@Faith-and-Hope@utopia

I had an afternoon sleep with Jersey by my side. When i woke up i checked my BP and it was still pretty high. So i made an appt to see my GP late this afternoon. Just come back and guess what - it was high but not as high as it has been. My GP jokingly said 'see i have this effect on you" lol

He said to take my med as per normal tonight, check my BP in the morning and if still high then call him.

I've been shaky and headache again and light headed. But I will see how it is tomorrow morning.

But if during the night i wake up with a throbbing head and it's high i will call an ambulance. Will see how i go.

@utopia I have been drawing a mandela picture for my therapist. I kept on coluring in this afternoon and i feel calm every time i colour in. i feel free when i draw and just do whatever comes to mind.

I told my GP about my SH and he said he understands why i do it; but i need to find something else. He said maybe a picture of your mum with some darts!!!!

Re: having a bad morning

@BlueBay. Who knows - a dart board maybe an option. I'd prefer something without sharp points. Her picture on a cushion and you can tell her to her face what you think of her - or ecen punch her if you need. But yes you do need another option rather than SH as it only hurts you & unfortunately she just doesn't / won't/can't understand. It's just the way it is. So come up with multiple safe options for when you get wound up.
I expect your pulse and bp is up because it's been a roller coaster of a week - emotionally. And our emotions play havoc with our bodies.
I'm envious about your colouring in. Was popular in my hospital, but it had the opposite effect on me. Your mandala sounds lovely. I wonder if you could post us a picture of it here, when it's done

Re: having a bad morning

Hi @Decadian@utopia@Faith-and-Hope and anyone else who reads this: -

I am OVER my bloody husband who does NOT listen and then blames ME for not listening to him.

We were watching the news and something came up and he made a comment; to which i replied that yes that supermarket does have managers; then he says no you weren't listening to me; to which i replied yes you said they have no managers; to which he says no i said they don't have DEPT managers. Oh no he did not say that. I was so angry. He always adds another word in to make himself right and me wrong. That so makes me angry.

I have homework to do for my therapist and do you think i can remember what i have to do and write. No. So i have emailed him asking to pls tell me again what i have to do - but i bet he will be angry and won't reply.

Also re. my session with my psych today - i wrote down a list of symptoms i was having with these new meds and he has decided to drop the strength and aftr a week drop down again. Then i will see him in 3 weeks time and report back to him how i am feeling. he also wants me to write a mood diary of my mood, thoughts, physical symptoms etc. so hopefully there may be a pattern.

otherwise he said if all else fails he will change my meds again to something different.

Re: having a bad morning

@BlueBay. Made me laugh - probably not your intention - but the number of times I come back from my psychologist & 10 minutes later I can't remember what my homework was. So if I still can't remember a few days later - I just write down what the homework may have been. I have to laugh because I know my memory is terrible so I should write the homework down while I'm in session with him. But guess what? Yep. I FORGET!

@utopia@Decadian@Faith-and-Hope

Good morning 🙂

I checked my BP this morning and it is 135/96 pulse 113. I phoned my GP like he said to and he said the top number is coming down but the bottom number is still high and my pulse is quite high. I have to ring him again tomorrow morning and let him know what my BP is. I guess then he will decide what to do.

I asked him 'isn't the pulse too high' and he said yes and didn't say anything else. I will have to wait until tomorrow morning.

I guess i worry that it could be something else ie. heart issues as my brother had a heart attack at 40 and my dad did too but he was in his 70's. And on my dad's side they all suffer from high blood pressure.

Off to work, hoping the day is going to be okay. Damn i just remembered we have a staff meeting tonight at 5pm with our area supervisor. This will be interesting!!! I'll let you know how i go.

Hope you all have a nice day. Well it's not nice where I live, it is pouring down with rain. Wish it would just go away and let the sun shine. 🙂

Good morning @BlueBay .... 😊

Enjoy the nice things about your working day ... find a calming perfume spray sample to enjoy .... look for another three things you could give a ✅ for .... maybe a favourite customer will come in today .... ?

Re: having a bad morning

@BlueBay. Your bp is coming down. Pulse is high but that happens when you get anxious. Top nbr is good. When you get your breaks at work - do a few minutes of calming breathing - especially before 5pm meeting.
Have a good day.
I'm in bed - 2nd day in a row. Just a head cold. But I'm resting up as my mums birthday tomorrow and my best friends daughter turns 5 on Friday and I want to be better so I can go to her party on Saturday.

Re: having a bad morning

Hi @BlueBay

The weather here is atrocious - that's depressing in itself - it did stop raining in the evening but during the night and when I woke up and heard it raining again I felt this was the living pits - I know you live somewhere near me and are having the same weather

The best thing to do right now is to take it as easy as you can - perhaps a lot of what you are having is stress - you have been through the works -

I am thinking of you - and waiting to hear how things are going - keep in touch with your doctor
