having a bad morning

having a bad morning

I am feeling that my life at the moment is crap. I am so depressed and find that more so in the mornings. I hate myself so much, the way I feel, the way I act and behave. I know people will say to me 'oh just get over it' or 'you're not trying hard enough' - well to those people who say that: Do you have a mental illness; do you know what it's like to have depression and feel so dark that you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel; do you self harm to get rid of your emotions and to feel the pain; or do you think about suicide because it's all too much and you can't handle the pain anymore - NO. So don't tell me to just 'move on' or 'stop being too sensitive'.

I am not having a good morning this morning; tears are flowing as i am typing. And I have to get ready for work; damn work. Sometimes I wonder if life is worth living and why?

I really don't know how i am going go today at work; I feel so depressed. 😞

Re: having a bad morning

Hi to all my friends
Sorry quick reply using my phone.
Thank you each one of you for your amazing support. I cry when I read each reply. All so beautiful and caring. I'm going to be seen by a female GP soon so I will mention blood test for menopause and ask her about peri menopause. I finally plucked the courage of telling my nurse that I feel like running away. I actually did write it down and I will give it to her later.
Have been sleeping most of day. Didn't join groups today but that's ok I needed the rest.
Chat again soon. Xxxooo. Love to you all.

Re: having a bad morning

You must have needed the sleep @BlueBay

Perhaps you slept because now you are in hospital you can put your load on the bad burner for a while and just sort yourself out

And yes - you do seem a lot better this evening

Peri-menopause means "around the time of menopause" - I remember when I had extreme itchiness - one of the symptoms of menopause - and because I had a hysterectomy I didn't have irregular periods or anything obvious - but I did have hot flashes

That can be treated - but yes - the "change" as it is sometimes delicately referred to - could and probably does make all your difficult problems so much harder

She says well u will have to ask your Pysch OMG !!!
I lost it completely last night sobbing letting it al out and I showed nurse my note to run away. She sat with me and said its the depression talking not me. I told her well I f..... Hate my depression. Headache got worse from the sobbing. She came back to give me Paracetamol and 2 Sleeping tabs. I slept all night but woke up dizzy. Now laying down in bed. Have a hairdressers appt which they may let me go if I feel better. But only for 4 hrs. Thank god I have a window where I can see outside and the trees.
Feeling bit more at ease today. Must have been all that sleep. Hope everyone ok. Xxxooo

Hi @BlueBay

Here is a landscape picture you might like for your phone .... I think it would be a lovely view from a window 😊

Re: having a bad morning

Oh dear @BlueBay

That is negligence the GP not testing. Yes, it is the most overlooked neglected area in the medical field but most GPs will give a blood test at least and most do know that menopause can effect the moods and cause headaches, body aches etc. She was brushing you off stating for you to see your psych about it. She should get a rap around the knuckles as that was unprofessional. If she is part of the hospital there I would mention it to someone in casual passing. Not good enough. But she is someone I wouldnt want treating me anyway as she obviously has no idea and doesn't care.

I think you will have to chase up that specialist as we discussed previously or find a GP that has some understanding and experience in that area. Don't give up as you will find one and will find relief from your symptoms/suffering when you do. I had the same trouble getting help for hormonal imbalance but eventually did and it made a huge difference - the crying stopped, depression lifted and gradually the anxiety disappeared. I think it's a specialised area of expertise and experience needed to help you.

Yes, lots of sleep will help your anxiety and depression - continue getting lots of rest 🙂 Thanks for the update @BlueBay - enjoy your time at the hairdressers. Thinking of you xx

Re: having a bad morning

Hi @BlueBay, i see you're in hospital (takes me a bit to catch up sorry), try to rest in there. I don't have private health & thus the option of voluntary hospital. My last psych admission was helpful in terms of regular meals, people around, housekeeping done, routine, morning group & walking group. Just knowing someone was there to talk to if i banged on the 'fish bowl' glass long enough. Try not to take so many sedatives there so they can see you how you are. Feel for you. Try to 'chill' but i know its hard. Can you do your poems or journal there? Stay strong. 💕

Re: having a bad morning

Hi @BlueBay

I think you are dizzy from all the emotions - it has been horrific for you lately and now you are safe you have all this backlash because you can lie down and rest all day and recover from all you have been fighting with over the last months

The GP could have organised the blood test and annoying that she didn't - and you are so fragile you cried a lot - I know - and I am glad they sedated you for the night - that's what you are written up for and that's what they gave you

If you get to the hairdresser - that's good - enjoy it - if you don't - you can make another appointment

Getting used to being in hosptial is not easy - but it will all fall into place - I guess the groups start on Monday - in the meantime this is the time to rest and talk with the nurses if you get the chance and you are already doing that

I am thinking of you

Re: having a bad morning

Hi @BlueBay. I'm glad you got a good sleep. Yes, I find some gp's ignore our requests for tests for physical ailments because we are MI peopeople and that's all they see.
Do they run any therapy grouos at your hospital? Do they have a list you can look through? Which grouos interest you? Which groups do you think you will attend?
