having a bad morning

having a bad morning

I am feeling that my life at the moment is crap. I am so depressed and find that more so in the mornings. I hate myself so much, the way I feel, the way I act and behave. I know people will say to me 'oh just get over it' or 'you're not trying hard enough' - well to those people who say that: Do you have a mental illness; do you know what it's like to have depression and feel so dark that you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel; do you self harm to get rid of your emotions and to feel the pain; or do you think about suicide because it's all too much and you can't handle the pain anymore - NO. So don't tell me to just 'move on' or 'stop being too sensitive'.

I am not having a good morning this morning; tears are flowing as i am typing. And I have to get ready for work; damn work. Sometimes I wonder if life is worth living and why?

I really don't know how i am going go today at work; I feel so depressed. 😞

@Faith-and-Hope & @BlueBay. Yes I agree. May need to change to happygirl. Or positive change or newme.

Hi @BlueBay

This is fabulous news - you can take life more easily and spend this time sorting yourself out and catching up with all the things that are confusing you so badly and get things straight in your mind

Don't worry about yourself - just look after yourself - you have been waiting such a long time for this

All the best - and we will see you again when you are feeling much better

Hi everyone
Admitted! Just gone through questions with nurse. Told her feelings of suicide and crying all the time. She suggested I can have a blood test here for hormones. Been crying - all overwhelming. Everyone knows each other except - me. ☹ trying to take it easy. Throbbing headache. Pysch seeing me soon.
Bye for now. Xxxooo ❤️❤️

Re: having a bad morning

I am so glad you are there @BlueBay and that you have been able to talk to the nurse about how terrible you have been feeling - what a night mare you have been through

I hope they can give you something for that headache - but they will be able to help you sort your life out now - and maybe treat those headaches

Thanks for letting us know

Re: having a bad morning

I want to run away. Saw my Pysch but couldn't talk today too depressed and throbbing headache. My head is telling me to run away. They wouldn't even know. It's so easy to do. Couldn't even tell my psych. Shld I tell someone I'm scared of what they'll say.

Re: having a bad morning

Hey @BlueBay

You're in hospital at last and you are safe - you can tell the doctors and nurses anything you need to

I know you have a bad headache - one of the worst - I know when I get a headache like that I am not to keen on talking about stuff either - so I hope you can settle down and let people know what's really going on so they can help you

Are they looking after you there? Have you got a safe place to sit and think privately - I don't know where you are but I am sure that they have had people before who have had trouble talking about whatever it is that is bothering you

So - I would suggest - this is what I would do - is to find a nurse who seems to be understanding and then sit down with her and tell her exactly how you are feeling - they can't tell unless you do

You have so much stuff happening in your life - here's an idea

Ask for some paper and a box of textas and write down all the stuff you have had happening

There's your work problems

Financial problems

MIL problems

Husband not understanding

Anger with your mother that is BAD - and resentment that your father is under her control

Talk about how angry you are - that anger is under the depression

You don't have to worry about what they think about you - you have no control over that - but they need to know what's really on your mind - and they won't remember this is the long run - and it's not what you say to them - it's what you hear yourself saying

Probably you need some time to settle in and they will understand that - when I have had an admission I have always felt rather awkward - and yes

You don't know the other guests there - but you soon will - do you have a room to yourself or are you sharing with 4 other people - the people in your room will be the first people you can talk to

So take it easy and rest - you have so much sorting out to do - I am with you in spirit and I will be thinking of you

Hi @BlueBay. Sorry you r feeling this way. Please tell somebody how you are feeling and don't run away. I felt like escaping often. You are in a place to get the help you need. Let me know how you go. 🙂

Re: having a bad morning

I'm with @Decadian on all of this @BlueBay .... they need to know how angry you are underneath all of your unhappiness to be able to treat you correctly. Yes, there will be hormonal and body-chemistry imbalances involved, but you are carrying a lot of emotional injury and internal conflict in reapinse to that ....

Don't shy off telling them exactly how you fee, but writing it down with the coloured textas is the best way .... that way you are not feeling responsible for the feelings of the person you are talking to, because you are talking to a page .... and them someone else is rwading it off the page .... and you don't end up yelling or crying at a person while you are trying to get it all out where you, and they, can see it ....

Be brave. You can do this without running away. Remember those baby steps ....

Re: having a bad morning

Such a beautiful heartfelt response from @Decadian - it moved me. And yes, what @Faith-and-Hope said - hormonal/bodily inbalances are involved and this will awaken from the subconscious past hurts/trauma. Talking about it always helps. Such wonderful news regarding what the nurse stated - you can have hormone tests;, hopefully they will be more reliable for peri-menopause (which can be tricky as previously explained as treatment is usually based on symptoms and blood tests usually only indicate menopause). But it's a start. Did you feel the nurse/medical staff had some understanding of peri-menopause?

Once the imbalance is treated and your hormones level out, and your health issues settle - then you will be strong enough to work through the other psychological/emotional issues. Otherwise it can just be too overwhelming. That is what I found when I went through what you are going through. I would talk everything through only to wake up and the depression/anxiety overwhelm me once again (before I went on HRT/thyroid treatment).

Exercising positive thinking was helpful and vital at that time for survival - but in my case I also needed hormone replacement and lots of sleep/rest to gain back some equilibrium. Take this opportunity to "get as much rest as you can". It will help the anxiety/depression no end - as will "letting go of your worries". You don't need to physically run away - you need to shut out life's woes for now and let your mind rest, give it a break. Take this opportunity to do this, and this will also give your body and mind chemistry a chance to heal and level out.

"Que sera sera, whatever will be will be - let it all go for now.

I was also on anti-ds for awhile (not now - just hrt). I remember crying every day before treated - I couldn't stop and it went on and on. I was a mess and my husband was at a loss of what to do. It was horrible.

Support from caring understanding others was vital in this dark time - keep reaching out. I so empathise with your suffering - if I could take it away I would.

And yes it takes one step at a time my friend - it won't happen overnight. But healing will happen. Hold onto hope no matter how hard - it won't let you down in the end. I hope the headache eases for you soon once you settle more. Thinking of you. Much love x
