having a bad morning

having a bad morning

I am feeling that my life at the moment is crap. I am so depressed and find that more so in the mornings. I hate myself so much, the way I feel, the way I act and behave. I know people will say to me 'oh just get over it' or 'you're not trying hard enough' - well to those people who say that: Do you have a mental illness; do you know what it's like to have depression and feel so dark that you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel; do you self harm to get rid of your emotions and to feel the pain; or do you think about suicide because it's all too much and you can't handle the pain anymore - NO. So don't tell me to just 'move on' or 'stop being too sensitive'.

I am not having a good morning this morning; tears are flowing as i am typing. And I have to get ready for work; damn work. Sometimes I wonder if life is worth living and why?

I really don't know how i am going go today at work; I feel so depressed. 😞

Re: having a bad morning

Hi @Silenus
I've written two letters to my mum. One letter I posted but she returned it including the envelope. Second letter I wrote but didn't post.
I think if I can verbalise what I want to say may be better for my healing. I don't know. I will ask my therapist.

Re: having a bad morning

I understand @BlueBay

My sister and daughter have no concept of an undefended little child protecting a little sibling during physical abuse and the emotional abuse a mother continued into her old-age - why should they understand? - it never happened to them

And people hate to have the boat rocked - and that's how abuse can last - and as for letting go - I know what you mean - how do we stop those memories that can haunt our nights - live in our dreams - wake us in the mornings feeling like the sky has fallen?

It is really horrible - I would believe anything my daughter told me - unequivally - and I would defend her

But her parents love her - both of us - and while our badly wired son and our sad and broken marriage must have had an effect on her she never talks about it - and I know she remembers the anniversaries - but never says anything. The death of her brother must have hurt her badly - but in 30 years has only mentioned it a handful of times and asked me not to.

So many of us live our lives on a different plane - I wonder about it at times - and I think we have to experience what has happened to us to really know that things like this happen - and how do we let go?

I wish I knew - I regret my son's life and death but I do not want to forget. I regret the breakdown of my marriage but I know it was never meant to be - it was sad more than anything else - and I don't want to forget what I learned

But my mother - that is different - how do we let go? Maybe this is a whole other subject. It has hurt so long we don't know life any other way. It has hurt so long we don't know what it will be like when we do let go.

To paraphase Shakespeare on Julius Caesar

Friends, Romans, countrymen - lend me your ears

I come to bury Caesar - not to praise him

The good that men do dies with them

The evil remains forever.

Honestly - I don't believe that is entirely true - but it does feel that way when it comes to our memories

I wish things were easier for you - my mother died last year too and I remember things I knew were buried and I really did not want to know them myself - but they came out anyway.

But I have the benefit of a longer life - and the wisdom that comes with it - and this is painful and takes a long time

Bless you

Decadian

Re: having a bad morning

Right now I wish I could be swallowed up. It's our anniversary today and already had an argument about finances. Like it's all my fault. I so hate this morning. I feel hopeless and helpless. Dark thoughts right now. I want to cry and run.

I am so sorry to hear that, @BlueBay. Arguments are never nice. I am also sorry to hear that you are made to feel that it is your fault.

Sending hugs and calm vibes to you. 🙂

Re: having a bad morning

I'm sending you my wishes for strength too @BlueBay. Is there somewhere nice you can be to take some time out? Maybe read or write beside the pool or at the beach? Hoping your day improves.

Re: having a bad morning

What a rotten start to your anniversary @BlueBay

Fights are never good but I also know they are a symptom and also they are never all one person's fault

Things are not good for you - esp right now - I'm so sorry this happened
