We all need to be able to let off a bit of steam.

Wiving is like that a lot. Use it as a verb ... its active ... its work.

I am approximately organised ... and life has taught me to let go of control ... so I have a manner of laughing things off sometimes. "Ah well ... what can you expect". ... it all depends on the level or rapport you have. My son then told me off for not being mature and responsible ... he who has only managed to do something aorund the house in the last year ... I know I have done enough preparation and try not to give myself a hard time when it doesnt work out. Life is like that.

Take it easy @Shaz51

Hi,
Yes I had them last week actually. It still happens, but have more support. Find that not looking after myself leads to this.

Hi,
Sorry I haven't read previous posts only your original one. Are you speaking on behalf of your husband, or is this reaching out for you? I'm a bit confused.
Anyway, with the thoughts-when they take control its almost like nothing can stop me, it gets compulsive and I can't focus on anything else. For me when the thoughts first started a few weeks ago I let someone I trust know about it. The thoughts were quite minimal back then, she got me to check in with her morning and night and make sure I do one good thing for me in the day, something to make my day a little worthwhile. The check in kept me safe, but because I care about her so much, I didn't want to hurt her so I committed doing check ins with her. The thoughts got worse and worse and I had made a promise to call her if got worse. I rang her with my plans and was sought hoping to get her opinion on the steps to take because she's been on my side but pro-life. She immediately rang mental health team, a friend and kept in contact with me until someone could come to me.
Sorry it's a bit long, but making a commitment just to be safe with someone I trust and truely don't want to hurt helped me. This day will pass.

Re: medication and sudical thoughts

I know it is hard work to stay positive @Shaz51. You do a good job as a carer for your husband. It is finding a balance not to be swamped by fear or despair and finding daily practical solutions for life's challenges.

Hello @tige It is so helpful to have people in your life who trust and are, as you say, pro-life. You sound as if you were ok with her contacting a MH team so I am glad you are getting support.

I found when it happened earlier in my life that my fear of my own suicidal thinking added momentum to the fear. maybe now that you have expressed it and sought support you will find a more relief.

Good Luck all

Hello @Appleblossom

I agree ---It is finding a balance not to be swamped by fear or despair and finding daily practical solutions for life's challenges.

and when you think you have a kind of a balance -- something always happens to mess it up
