Was asked to think of someone I admired and to imagine a statue of her, in a place. Simone Weil came to mind, and I imagined her in Creamy white silica, with a flowing long skirt, on the English Downs, gazing at the sky. I was not up to date on my research on her, but she emerged from my addled wits.

It was in a cabaret workshop yesterday. Others chose Marilyn Monroe and Beyonce. I apologised for not being very sexy, but a friend in the group piped up... she is very intellectually sexy! There was supposed to be an element of with an emphasis on social and political commentary. Oh I felt, so amazed and normalised. Someone else actually had heard of her and appreciated her! I mostly had loved reading about her, first hearing of her through reading German philosophers, but on my own, long after leaving uni. Now, I am reconnecting with this friend and realising we have more in common, than I initially realised.
