Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

Bikes break down the same as cars I imagine..

@Anastasia had to edit as thought that I had tagged you..

I don't think that road assistance covers them laugh..

fortunately boyfriend saved the day...

I am assuming that was the translation of bf...can also be best friend???

I hate facebook...no offence...

Your son will still struggle which is an indication of what an ordeal he was experiencing leading to him being hospitalised..

Time will help him...

Knowing that his family is supporting him means so very much and I know that many on the forums who have been in the situation will vouch for that..

As for easier on carer/parent/family/friends/mum....

I wish that I had the magical word for each and everyone of us dealing with a life no parent could imagine when planning to start a family..

I would never give my boy back though...I love him just as deeply now..

I know that you feel the same..

Also @Appleblossom ..having self care time I am thinking still..

Did you read where I wrote to Jacques that my older boy wants me to reach at least 150 years old...very serious...when I said good grief...no thank you...definitely wrong answer...told me off non stop....

I will leave that alone in the future...

Does your son have an interest in a certain area that is very important to him?

My boy is a great cartoonist which I try to redirect him to when he is spending too much time on the computer researching everything that he should not be that further exasperates delusions..

I am still not well...a building up of events...family issues...sons...I have little sleep so probably have fatigue again...general feeling of blech..

I remember when I used to work..retired now due to health...

I always wore a mask and worked in auto pilot...

nobody knew...

Incredible when I think about it now as I excelled in client relationships ...managing conflict...mediating ..etc etce etc..

now it takes me hours to focus on doing one thing..

self care is definitely vital even though we all are tired of hearing the same old same old..

we must come up with some new names..

love to you and appleblossom and I shall even give myself some....

I think that is a first that I have ever written that..

As a result of sharing with you both and understanding up to a certain level how very alone it feels...

I am here in soul for you both 💜

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @HenryX

You have been very good at supporting others..

I read somewhere a piece that you had written in response to one thing that helps you or something along those lines..

You spoke about your counselling and how you are finding some benefit there which is so very pleasing to hear..

It can be difficult finding the right person to start with...before unravelling some of the deep emotions within us..

It is hard work...well worth the work though..

There are of course various kinds of counsellors suiting different people...

I am happy with mine of seven years and a half years now..

hard work...mostly in between the sessions...

worth the effort..

Good luck and I hope that you can continue and learn even more about Henry...

@Jacques

Wow ... I am a mix of dutch and irish ... so thats both of your mums!

Glad you all had good talk about germanic cultural stuff ... and with @TAB

lots of little villages, provinces, duchies, then towns, then all these reunifications .... then brexit and the eurozone.

I always felt closer to germans than Aussies cos of the approach to music ... something subtle that. was not taught in the aussie approach .... deep culture ....idk.

Mind you just as cultural similarities ... sometimes its hard to get a room full of Irish to agree ....

Today I had a lovely coffee with an Aussie couple who are connecting with me in a great way. He loved the book I brought to share ... about Hepzibah Menuhin and she offered me an interesting part time tutoring job ... and we all get on and can laugh ... about what we share and what we dont share .... so that is really good.

Still going gently bently ... but seeing light at end of tunnel. God its been a long dark night of the soul.

Sophia ... lovely to read more about your boys.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Thanks so much @Sophia1 I hope you are well & okay....

Sorry I've not replied to your last message.

I was sent home (Failed) 3 hours into 8 hour Practical Assessment today - After successfully completing 2 days (Monday & Tuesday) of Theoretical stuff & Assessments.

Started 8.00am, sent home 11.15am (roughly) - Along with one other person as well.

Instructor had said that no-one would Fail - Serious or joking?...

I was in shock (Still am) - Never saw this as an outcome....

Just Practice at Home instructor said - Then Re-Book in several week's time.

The Instructor had made up her mind in advance - As the other participants had the entire rest of the day to practice & pass Prac Assessment.

There's No Job to go to now.

Or at least not until I do a (Re-Booked) Practical Day (8 hours) - & Pass it.

The Practical Day Assessment has now been Re-Booked - an entirely different (unknown) location 40Km drive away - With no Practice opportunity, leading up to it.

Sorry, I will write something positive & uplifting soon - When back up & running....

Oh @Adge

You would be feeling completely deflated. I'm so sorry.

That just sounds very harsh.

I'm certain when you return you'll nail it, bit it certainly doesn't make today any easier to come to terms with.

Big hugs Adge x

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @Sophia1

Thank you for your post to me earlier today.

I keep up with your posts and discussions and feel a significant level of concern for how you have been feeling more recently.

We haven't had the contact that we had a few months ago, despite my reluctance or resistence then, to writing fantasy. I have actually surprised myself with some of what I have written. I am certain that my activity in different areas of the forum, including the fantasy aspect, has been the stimulus for my developing, what may seem to have been, a somewhat latent capacity to convey ideas in writing. Thank you for your significant part in that process.

I am pleased that the counsellor, with whom I am speaking, and I have established a sound base on which to develop and address issues not previously resolved, and to a certain extent, never before addressed. I would even consider that we might both be developing our knowledge base and personal resources. I am certainly fortunate to have been able to access and work with this person.

It is interesting that progress in social sciences definitely keeps expanding. Areas that may not even have been considered, as recently as ten years ago, are now actively explored and addressed. We often hear about the faults and failures of "the system" but I do believe that it is worth, at times, stopping to consider and reflect on how far 'we have come', and hopefully to appreciate the range of resources now available.

Unfortunately, there are still significant areas which we might consider to be "black holes" in the knowledge base and services offered. I am not insensitive to the position of people who come into the area of deficiencies in the available knowledge bases and therefore resources.

Your statement:

"I am happy with mine of seven years and a half years now..

hard work...mostly in between the sessions...

worth the effort.."

Reflects the gentle warning given early in our discussion by the person I am speaking with, that I should be aware that the work that we undertake may bring to the surface memories and consequent feelings that may be difficult to accept and sustain which, I think may relate to your reference:

"in beween sessions".

It will surely be an interesting voyage in learning more about the person whose pseudonym is HenryX.

Hoping that you will find some peace and tranquility in the near furture, @Sophia1

With My Very Best Wishes

@HenryX

Thank you @Anastasia That's kind & thoughtful of you.

Much appreciated.

Yes I'm in shock - Major trauma reaction/ response.

Haven't felt overwhelm like this in quite a while.
