Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1 yea what my parents want is not exactly what i want. But unfortunately children don't really get to have a say . Be cause if it's working for them... why would they care what the child wants... I'm just only noticing the array of resentments i have surrounding my parents as people and as the way they are .. also noticing their resentments toward myself in the opposite sense.. and nowdays I'm trying to manage these resentments as they've tried to manage theirs instead of bottling stuff up and boiling over .. but like i said. . What works for them don't necessarily work that well for me.. so I'm just trying to process it all, get my head around it and deal with it ..

Re: Living with Ourselves

looks like a divine place to escape to @outlander

have you booked a room for us all?

a sanctuary to gather in ..

what a hoot..

I can well imagine some conversations and expansions of minds would go on for hours...

especially if anyone else loves deep conversations..

or perhaps a place to escape to where we can escape our minds...explore externally all that nature has to offer there..

looks like a lot to me ..

thank you

energy levels are extremely low as all of your blood cells, tissues, get to work to heal..

hence rest regardless of what else is going on..

if you dont rest your body will take longer to heal and may even not heal properly..

ask for help with Pop.

take care of outlander 💚

Re: Living with Ourselves

yes @eudemonism

family dynamics..

think of it as each individual having their own unique personalities, traits, behaviours, thought patterns, issues,

some of these are self-centred some are self survival..

mix all of that up together and you are bound to have clashes, different opinions, thinking styles, reactions, responses and more..

how we let all of that affect us is what is most important for us to look after ourselves.

everyone needs to do this , look after themselves.

yes look after others as well but not as much as looking after ourselves..

It has taken me far too long to put this into practice..

I have always put others first and learnt the hardway..

you think a lot and have gained insight on your journey that I have been privileged to read about on some posts.

It is this style of thinking that is helping you through the hardest moments of your medication up and down cycle.,

you will never be the same as your parents or they you..

that does not matter though does it..more learning to spend time in each others company and finding some happiness no matter how short a period..take away those moments.

the rest will only waste far too much of your energy as you cannot change them. only they can do that if they want to..

as they cannot change you..only you can do that if you want too.

sorry have rambled on again..

hope that reading this does not give you a headache...read it in small sections if that is easier

whatever suits you Eude

take care of yourself

remember there are many on here who care about you.

sleep well hopefully

I asked for help for pop and didn't get any responses. they asked how I was and told them abit just that still have pain and possibly nerve damage and got the awws (need an eye roll emoji here I think) but even after that no offers for help.
atm im wanting to walk away from everything. just sitting like a volcano atm.

how are you and is the virus getting any better?

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1 yea...

I'm at my wits end somedays ... regards trying to find peace and rest ... in the mental sense of my life ...

I really have to be conscious of the fact that i need to look inward for what I'm looking for as apose to outward... find the balance *

Some people appear to have it down pat ... but not me by a long shot... there seems to be limited options when looking outward for answers ...

😊😀

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @eudemonism

Trying to find peace in a mind that is overthinking can definitely be hard to deal with..

each time is so different as well ..it is not as if there is a solution ...so sorted that out..

People who have never had long term symptoms of mental unwellness have no idea how intense the struggles are..

It does not help to compare yourself with others either..

every experience in life be it health or not is different for each person..along with their life situations...their own personality traits...

As for some people seeming to have it all together...

hmm they might on some occasions...

some of us are very good at wearing a mask...skirting around our own health ...taking the focus off ourselves to give our mind a rest...focussing on supporting another temporarily can help some times..

other times we have to acknowledge that we are just not well and need to be kind to ourselves...not beat ourselves up about it...self-judge..

I have been very self-critical and had far too high expectations of self at the same time rationally supporting another who might not be struggling as much as I am..

So I am learning to be more open with people whom I trust...not about everything though..

that is where having a counsellor, psychologist, psychiatrist helps as you can feel in a safe zone to express how you truly feel.

I read on the other thread where you were having a conversation with Tab that someone else is making life hard for you..

that is an area where you can take charge and just tell the person you are wanting to get on with your own life in the way that you want to. That means not spending time with so many people. You are looking after yourself...

However they respond..is their issue not yours...walk away..

As for options looking outwards...I find myself that they seem to present themselves when I am not looking...especially when I have spent some time utilising self-care...I am perhaps feeling slightly more at ease and open to what is happening around me.

Life throws things at us when we least expect it...if we have an open mind

take care Eude

speak soon 💚💛🧡

Hi @Sophia1 That was a very helpful & wise reflection that you just wrote, I think.

I could relate to what you said.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1 I have not been writing much virtually anywhere.

Due to lack of energy, & some hurtful responses from people who could be more thoughtful & sensitive.

I have been posting meaningful quotes with animal pictures.

As they sometimes cheer people (including myself) - they often express what I cannot easily put into words myself.

Hot Choc (Carers) & Long Rave threads I was probably somewhat active.

Then someone took over the Long Rave thread with SA issues, & strong anti-male sentiment.

So I felt excluded.

I shall hopefully find somewhere else to give & receive support - somewhere that I can express myself, & not feel stomped on.

Hear from you soon.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1 😀👋💜

@Adge I'm really sorry to hear you feel excluded (as a male member) in that other thread since a recent change of topic emphasis. I read that thread regularly, but very rarely post there myself. But I have seen your other recent posts and pic selections around the forums. They have been great. I too hope you can find a new home on the forums where you feel comfortable and valued .. as you should.

Sherry 😀
