Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Former-Member I'm just expressing myself in a snide, cocky and sarcastic way... it's all based around resentments, i have been holding onto, which have stemmed from my life story and experiences, and my involvement with mental health services ... I'm coming to the conclusion that, my opinion about right and wrong, is just as valid as, any other persons opinion ... and I'm really just seeking to be listened to, taken seriously and to have something done, about what i say is right and wrong, as apose to what everyone else, says is right and wrong ... because i am not going to spend the rest of my life, being a puppet on strings ... and being subject to the opinons of others, which is solely based around, their well-being, their best interests and their benefits... you can call it 'an awakening '

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hey @eudemonism the term awakening is a good one for sure. Sounds like you would almost be a good advocate for people who have had a rough time with mental health services. We all hear you here, and we're sorry that you've come up against this. The community is here to listen

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @eudemonism

I understand your reaction to my post addressed to you...

I truly do feel for you Eude even though my absences from here might make you think otherwise...

Reading back over my thread I can see how it might come across as being self centred perhaps and dismissive.

If this is the case I take back every word... Your feelings mean a lot to me and the last thing that I want to do is trample all over them causing further pain..I am so very sorry if I have hurt you in any way..

We communicated with one another on a different thread for over a year...that connection for me was of such help..

I know at times you did appreciate my support and thank you again...

You have every right to be angry with a system that has left you feeling as you do...

As @Former-Member mentioned you are a voice for all of those who for whatever reason cannot express how they feel that they have been treated.

You are already an advocate in my mind by being on these forums..

I am not trying to sugarcoat anything or excuse myself if I have offended you in any way ...

I sincerely want to let you know that no matter how much time has passed and will pass my connection with you on this platform will always mean so much to me...far more than you might imagine...

Please be kind to yourself and remember to feel good about how much you have achieved....even though at present this might seem futile..

I will leave you be Eude....the last thing that I want is to hurt you in any way...you have experienced too much of that already..

value the people who truly care for you on here and continue to interract with those you feel most comfortable with and safe.

Thank you again for allowing me to get to know you in the best way that a person can on this type of virtual platform..

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Former-Member I'm in the frame of mind, where I'd now, like to deal with the issues; that were with myself, when i first reached out to, the mental health services ... but all I'm getting from the team; is, diagnosis, mental illness, treatment, open shut case... see you next time... which makes me think, feel and act, like the legit issues-which didn't involve mental illness-which were my motive for reaching out to them-in the first place... have been covered over with diagnosis and treatment... and details from a book... which I'm now thinking-is rubbish ... and it's near impossible to accept all of this and be happy with it...

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1 it's got nothing to do with you and our friendship... I've simply got huge amounts of pent up emotions-from the whole scenrio... and it's a constant battle of trying to understand and accept... why everything has happened...

Basically I've had no choice, but to accept it, and take it as it is... or struggle and make the problem worse... despite what my true and honest opinion was ...

I'm just trying to regain ground, that i believe has been wrongfully taken from me ... you know... regaining ground, control, power and influence over the treatment I've recieved ... and for me personally... it goes way back into my life story; even prior to coming into contact with mental health services...

But ultimately. . I've just got to accept, each day as it comes and as it is... because I'm not expecting any major changes to happen --on my behalf...

Accepting how my life has and will play out ... plus accepting my current circumstances is extremely difficult ... because i know --there has been alot of external influences that have gotten me into this position ... and it's definitely! Not ideal ... by far ... it's definitely hard to accept and work with-when things aren't going well or (potential)challenges or adversaries /setbacks arise...and yea there's plenty of them...

Hello @eudemonism

Thank you for explaining.

I am dealing with car issues at the moment.

I will get back to you though.

You have every right to be over the system when the system that is meant to be listening to you is not.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello again @eudemonism

I hope that you are managing to keep warm where you live..

It pains me to read that you feel that you are not being listened to by the team of professionals who are appointed within your living facility to do just that, listen to you.

If you feel that this is the case you have a right to voice this.

At times like this when anybody already has so much going on in their life to deal with.. the body is depleted of energy and motivation has left ages ago.

I want to give you this information though for you to put in a place somewhere should you decide one day that you want to ask for assistance.

This organisation is separate from NDIS...I am not sure if you are under their books or not..

I remember you telling me ages ago the state that you live in also.

You can look at the website and apply for an advocate online if you prefer.

If you are like me..I prefer to speak to someone..

I have dealt with them myself and they are very caring and understanding.

The organisation is Disability Advocacy Complaints Service South Australia referred to as DACSSA

They do not judge people ..they are on our side..

This is only a suggestion not advice so if you do not feel it is appropriate just ignore, I will not be offended..

I want only to help you and feel strongly that you have rights no different to any other human being in this world.

PS You might not recognise my new avatar...time for a change

take care
