Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

hello @Zoe7

sadly I am on the verge of wanting to scream..rant..rave...cry...yell

I have to keep myself together...

going out later for dinner for our wedding anniversary..a surprise somewhere..

so my timing for a huge meltdown is not the best...

sitting here practising smiling...

husband has just ironed my trousers as well as his clothes..

I loathe ironing...

read that you are going back to work after the school holidays...well done for achieving your goal...

you certainly come across as so much stronger...

hope that you are proud..

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hopefully you can keep it together to enjoy your anniversary dinner @Sophia1 I know how hard that is when all you feel like doing is screaming and having a meltdown

My return to work has been delayed again - HR needs more information from my GP before they can begin the process and sadly she is away until the middle of the first week of term - so considering all that needs to be done for me to be able return I think we are looking at a few weeks into the term at the minimum. It significantly affects the plan to retuning to more fulltime work by the end of the year but that is something I will have to deal with as the next few months go on. The aim is to get back 4 days a week so I can still do DBT and all my appointments on a Wednesday - so it will be like working fulltime anyway.

I also have ironing to do today - it is on my list anyway. There is not much to do but like you I don't particularly like ironing but I do like my clothes to be wrinkle free lol

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1 Sorry I haven't written much recently.

So tired, my fingers are hitting the wrong keyboard letters.

I'm close to having a meltdown myself.

I sometimes feel like yelling & screaming, but usually nothing comes out.

I hope things look up for you soon - I wish that for myself also.

Happy Anniversary! I hope it's special for you.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1

Cat stories - oh yes - I have stacks of those - I have had cats a lot through my lifetime though I usually only write about Companion Cat now

Actually - she is still narky with me that I was away for a few days and wants to sit on my lap as soon as I sit down and it's getting troublesome

I have had a virus all over the weekend - I feel okay today so I am back but yeah - I was having trouble organising myself and the cat sat on me all the time I was taking breaks and once I started feeling better I would turf her off and she was giving me the reverse glare and I felt annoyed with her too I am afraid

But she is just a cat and I am the human running this show - grump

So her little trick is that she tried to hold my arm down by putting both of her hands on my arm and tries really hard to hold my arm down - and keep me wherever - and during the weekend I spent a lot of time reading in bed -

It doesn't work for her and I laugh at her and she hates that

But of course - feeling headachey and having a runny nose and sore throat I felt it better that the shedding cat needed to shed elsewhere but she threw up on the carpet - ah sheesh

Yes - it's time she went to the vet and I will be organising that today if I get that far with all the catching up to do - I think the problem is hairballs but it's time for her shots

But I get it - she is really snaky with me for going away - she tried being angry early last year after I went to Lakes Entrance and I have been to Sydney and Hobart since then and she has been okay with that but this last trip was a day longer and I saw my daughter and asked if she had been okay or if she had been crying when I was away and she was crying

So yes - I get it - my parents took trips - often - and went overseas when we were older - we just have to put up with people taking trips and the cat must too

And I am rattling

Re: Living with Ourselves

Oh gee thanks @Maggie

That's my cat exactly -

I am wondering what I look like to her. I know she thinks I am a shaman - I have all the mystically powers over the air - making it hotter or colder - the lights - I can get the food out of the packet and there is nearly always plenty - I put down fresh water though she prefers to drink out of puddles - so a kind of passive-aggression there - and her litter tray - if I forget about that she can spread it around - and then - she can throw up on the carpet - urk - I clean that mess up too

Ever imagine we can have a slave-complex

Of course one of her favourite tricks is going outside - then banging on the door meowing - and then coming in and building a huge sand-castle in the litter tray but guess what - I can check on that and there is often nothing there

I have more stories but this is enough for one day -

I love the cat - maybe I am allergic to her fur

Re: Living with Ourselves

hello all

@Maggie

that reflection of self image...very powerful....

we can all use this concept...

@eudemonism take a look back on here to the image that Maggie shared....hold onto that thought when having to deal with others who treat you with disrespect...

I am going to try and hold onto the image @Maggie when sharing time with certain extended family members...I shall just have to be careful not to burst out loud with laughter...
