Living with Ourselves

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

hello @Zoe7

Yes I am planning something similar...

I have not seen the rental property yet...

will set up the scratch tower...blanket

they have had beds bought for them...special cushions...tunnels...

they like the settee and our bed if the door is open

also one loves to be on top of the settee or on top of the cat tower...even the mantel piece over the fire place laugh..

they are only now tolerating each other after my soul cat being gone for 30 months now....

Soul cat is waiting for us to start building house...we will all be together again then...

I still have ashes from my dog ...over 15 years ago....kept at time because younger son did not want to spread them at that time...then could not bring myself to do so after...she doesn't take up much space...she is with all of my art stuff...being creative there...

@Sophia1 I have just done the move myself, so my heart goes out to you. It's hard to go gently with a deadline date. Listening if you need to get things off your chest, but I know sitting typing is hard for you also. Warm thoughts for what they are worth. 💜💕💛🐾🐾🐾

Hello Maggie

That would have been a huge ordeal for you....I do hope that you had some caring support..

Are you starting to settle a little where you are now?

any places of special interest for you nearby?

Whenever I have moved I have always made a point of making a special feeling in one room where I can go and lay down...soaking in that feeling...having pets is a huge factor for me...I know that you have had pets also..

Your warm thoughts are worth more than you can imagine...

Write to me when you feel up to it....I love hearing from you...

I will also tag you ...if I see that you are not responding...I will respect that and check in with you later...

you are so loving maggie...thank you for being you and staying in touch xxx

Hello @Adge

Thank you for the information...I shall take a note of that...

For now if I start creating more pots my husband will flip his lid...he is trying to get me to minimise laugh

I still have to supervise the pruning or trimming I prefer sounds less cuthroat.....of my double ficus in the pot which the little birds love and nest in...so we have chirping all around us...birds nesting in the beams of the double carport.....gum trees..

apricot tree...my double ficus by the dining room french doors....when I open one of the doors the birds fly off in a mass...

Amnesia....trauma....childhood loss is very difficult...

You have spoken about your family life before and I can understand how you would have been affected...

It is well researched children living in a home where there are others suffering from severe mental illness often have issues of their own later....some genetic some responsive...

As long as you have a strong relationship with your psychologist ...feel safe and trust her....a slow process of growth will occur...you might not remember much of your childhood...you will have the opportunity to grow as the lovely man who Adge is and that is what is most important...

Being everything that is you Adge....your vast knowledge of nature and the environment is something to be very proud of...I hope that one day when you are more settled in yourself...perhaps when you retire or transitioning(the buzz word now) into retirement...you can make use of that wonderful knowledge....writing....sketching....photography...community centre groups...garden clubs....junior school activities...volunteering in wild life parks....community gardens..

there is so much that you have to offer your community within your own personal boundaries....physical abilities..

sorry I do get carried away...

when I see men who are held back and they have such beautiful caring souls....such gifts....I just want to rush over and help...

I suppose I could be seen as smothering or being overbearing by some...

then again I have learnt the opinion of others...judgement of others is more about them not for me to take on board...

keep in touch

Sophia

Re: Living with Ourselves

you are more than welcome @Maggie

It brings tears to my eyes knowing that I have reached someone experiencing what I am going through..

Even though our experiences are unique to ourselves as are our lives...

write when you can...looking after you...

perhaps we can make suggestions about little things to get us through..

one thing that I know

for now I have to get off of here

bless you Maggie

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1 My cat is buried at my parents' place in a spot she used to like to sit in when she was there. It has been nearly 10 years since she passed away

It seems like you have it sorted for your cats when you move - hopefully they settle in quickly.

It is a big job moving house and I understand it is even harder because of your limitations in being able to help with the packing - take care of yourself Hon - it is natural to want to help but don't over extend yourself - I know this is hard with a short timeframe to move though.

Re: Living with Ourselves

hello @Zoe7

Thank you....

yes I would not go as far as to say i have it sorted for my cats...moreso that they are at the forefront of my mind..

I am looking at moving into rental property on my own with cats a week before settlement....will only have a bed ....perhaps smaller settee of two...

definitely cat stuff and cat food...

hopefully we will all calm each other

Re: Living with Ourselves

I slept on my couch for a couple of weeks while I was getting my cat settled @Sophia1 - going between 2 places moving things but spending nights with her so she felt more like it was her home. It takes so re-adjustment for our fury friends but they are usually okay if we are with them. It sounds like you are doing everything you cn to get you cats settled too

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1 Yesterday ended up being one of the many " forget that one " days. My move came out of the blue 6 weeks ago. It was decided I needed support accommodation. I think everything that could go wrong did, then some more. I ended up in hospital the last 2 weeks, and the move happened last Friday. I was allowed out of hospital to organise, ( if that's what you call it ) the final removal, and carpet clean. Then on Monday I was discharged, starting again, again!!!!! I'm observing for 3 mths, before making any future decisions.

Tips.....Do you have anyone you trust to help. I had my social worker ( worth her weight in gold... Then some ). It's hard on every level, you already know that. Just saying it so you have a few moments of...( this is normal under the circumstances). I wrecked my antenna. A moment of sheer frustration. I belted it on the floor and twisted it to pieces. Did that help, momentarily....yes....long term....no. But allow yourself the frustration of the "Big."

Its all big. Boxes, stuff everywhere. We will get through this. Sending lots of these and warm wishes. In it all you are not alone.💕💕💕💕💕💜💜💜💜💜
