Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1 I am currently in survival mode and have been for a couple of days - so your humour and company yesterday was the best medicine for me

I think we all have the potential to offend/upset/hurt others with what we write on occasions but it shows the character of the person that they acknowledge and accept that not everyone has the same views/ideas and that some things others cannot relate to. That should not stop you writing what you feel @Sophia1 - if someone takes offence then they have the right of rely and/or to not read that thread, Nothing written here is ever personally targetted at anyone but in our emotionsl states sometimes we may feel that way - that is no-ones fault - it is just part of our own vulnerabilities.

I, for one, love your perspective on things - it is only by accepting difference that we can be different within ourselves - and that equates to growth.

Keep writing, keep being you becsuse in the end that is all you can be and all you need to be.

Re: Living with Ourselves

@eudemonism. I do feel it's important for most of us to have our diagnosis reviewed occasionally. And if you don't think the diagnosis is a true reflection of your symptoms - then it's even more important to have a review done.

But what if the review, done by a different psychiatrist, without looking at previous diagnosis - was then to come up with the sane diagnosis conclusion. Then what?

And yes, I strongly believe that we should be our own advocates for our health - if we can be.

@eudemonism. Honestly, I don't know how to answer your question.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Thank you @Zoe7

laugh I managed to do it again...write something at great length that came across in a different way to what was intended...

This is not my being upset with you either....

My post was meant to reassure anyone who might be offended or felt discluded...I have felt that myself at times on these forums....more than likely as a result of my being a very sensitive person...

so I responded sensitively as a sensitive person to all of those who are sensitive in nature......

oh now this is turning into a soliloquy.....

@Owlunar you will get me...

Yes I have at times in the past responded to someone whom has taken my words to mean something other than intended...rephrased what I have written and attempted to reassure...not always successful...worth the effort...

I do love having lengthy interesting conversations with others who have the ability to listen to another's point of view ...at the same time accepting that neither are right or wrong...purely different points of view...

there is also a positive in this ....at times I tap into a different point of view...look at it from a different perspective...acknowledge that I had not thought of whatever in that light...

agreeing to agree to disagree is part of my vocabulary....

healthy debating ....interesting conversations are a passion of mine...

along with good humour...

particularly dry humour..

as for difference that is what the forums are here for ...

My mind is malfunctioning as Utopia mentioned....scrambled...fragmented...

am back on antibiotics again which do not help...

I have been working very hard over the last nine years at being me....the real me....

it is not an easy path to take...it is a rewarding one for self-discovery....

one downside is that those who knew me previously ...not noticing the gradual adaptations....are slightly confused at times..

in learning to be true to ourselves ....some people are unable to cope with that as it challenges their own insecurities...

this I have seen in my real life...particularly within family..

look forward to another episode of spontaneity..

was happily listening to eagle rock before...

have to go back and check out the other ones listed on that thread...

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Appleblossom @Zoe7. I so want to do the tshirts in real life. But I think I lack the ambition, and let fear control me.

But would love ut if someone did it for real. I'd definitely buy one or two.

Re: Living with Ourselves

@utopia there's been far to much dealing and coping with side effects then living life. It's not right. And it's not bye choice. It's forced. Who's fault is this? Who is too blame? So essentially the side effects have become worse than initial symptoms.

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1. I don't see you as an oddity at all. How you described yourself is very sinilar to how I'd describe myself - when well - like now.

I am well now. I have no idea where depression has gone - but he's no where I can see or feel him. Yay!!!

But memory and cognition have taken a beating over these past 18 months, so they will take a little longer before they are able to function as 'normal'.

Re: Living with Ourselves

@eudemonism when the side affects are worse than the symptoms, that's when you really need to start questioning everything - including the team looking after you who are meant to be the experts.

Makes me think of the Doctors oath. Do no harm.

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1 I never thought you were being upset with me at all Hon - I was trying there to re-assure you that whatever you write is ok because it is what you are thinking and we all have our own (sometimes strange, funny, etc.) ways of putting things. I had a giggle again at your laugh - you always make me see the funny side of things - sometimes without even meaning to and that is a gift

@utopia I would love to produce thise t-shirts but I would never do it without you and as that is not possible it seems our wonderful venture may never get off the ground - bugger!

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1I've gone one step beyond your dreams of being chased bye snakes. I'm actually dreaming of being eating bye snakes. Am going to research meaning in a minute.

@Appleblossomyears ago I thought about doing a t-shirt business. And using my own writing or art as the logo / symbol. But I never got around to doing anything about it. - I've heard of a few similar stories from others since then as well.

+too whom it may concern 😀 I've had my fair share deviant thoughts and committed my fair share delinquent behaviour.

Eude.
