Niquas Notes

Niquas Notes

I thought I might try some 'journalling' . Just write a little blurb out each day, basically what I'm already doing . . . just giving it a name . . a title, I suppose? But to give it some 'umph' in my head I'm going to try & remember how to start a new thread & call it 'Niquas Notes' 🙂
It's not even 11.30am & I'm having a tomatoe & onion sandwich for lunch 🙂 I think I've been forgetting to 'get around' to a few meals lately. It's pretty good 🙂
I think I need to go into town today & check the post office, I may have a parcel to collect (evil ebay again!). I might get some meat while I'm in there (probably sausages ;)), I don't think I've had a lot of it lately - though I had Tuna in some fried rice the other night 🙂 Pretty sure I've got a couple of DVDs to collect from the library too 😉 {which means waiting until after 2pm at least as they close from 1-2pm for lunch} Today being Wednesday, it's an off-lead walk day, so I'll take the puppies along & drop into the local Forest on the way back home 🙂 I really enjoy that walk myself, it might be one I've done a million times, but that's sort of part of what I think I really enjoy about it?;)? & of the camp trips, beach walks & places that I have been going to for a little while now - the local 'home' forest walk still gives us the most freedom & me the most confidence 🙂
I think I am recovering from the xmas kerfuffle. I've just polished off a banana, which I would normally have at breakfast, so I've just combined morning & midday meals 😉 & I've got a bottle of water with just a touch of Apple Cider vinegar in it :x I actually quiet like the tang & I do beleive my insides appreciate it 🙂 I've been having quite a few nasty waves of nausea washing over me for a while now.
I need to start 'beating myself up a bit' about the housework! I did get some dishes done before I went away, but there's still a mountain of pots and pans there!! & my mountains of dirty washing are growing death defying peaks!!! I did also get 1/2 the yard mowed, but the other half is overgrown & the 1st 1/2 could do with a trim (00)! & the general clutter continues to compact.
I must look online at what the costs of registering my puppies will be in my council, maybe I can do that while I'm in town? If I got the genny going & started tackling the dirty washing, I could mow my little fella's feet inbetween cycles . . . & then we could go to a favourite 'look-out' spot for a walk 😛 . . . that'd be nice 🙂
Well, by the time I get online, it'll be past Potatoe hour. So I'd better stop blurbing & post 😉
Love to all that need or want it, everything positive gratefully accepted 🙂
❤️

Re: Niquas Notes

@Former-Member ...... yelling and screaming is actually a form of communication ......

It’s not the best sort ...... but communication is better than no communication ...... way better ...... because as painful as this is, without communication people suffer in silence, and internalise their pain and negative feelings, negative self-talk included, and it makes them very unwell.

We haven’t had this sort of issue with our kids. We have had other issues. And we have had screaming, crying, whimpering, and feelings of guilt about it all.

Counsellors can help. We all tend to be better behaved, and this more patient with the communication process ...... more civil perhaps ...... but there is someone objective supporting, laying, upholding ground rules for communication which helps to keep it off the screaming / shouting / crying page.

Counselling is only possible at a family level when everyone is prepared to attend, and commit to the communication and change process. Without the family commitment, counselling for ours lives can be helpful ...... it can help us get out what we want to say ...... unpack it all over the table and work out how to package it so our communications don’t take us by surprise as much as the person we are angry and or distressed about.

Just wanted to share this with you so you know you are far from alone in these experiences ...... and you are doing what any normal, caring mother would do, quite apart from any mi issues also on board.

Oh, dearest Niqua! How awful this frightening moment between you and your child. I am reminded of an occasion several years ago when I had a similar wildly angry episode with my mother. We couldn't speak to each other for a few months. And yet here we are, having just spent three peaceful, kind weeks together and all is well.

I know that at this moment things feel very dark for you, that you are afraid of what has occurred, that you are understandably concerned for your child's wellbeing. I know it might feel there is no hope. But I am here to tell you these things are survived and overcome with time, that great healer. Mum and I have had so many awful times over the years and decades, with anger and abuse thrown from either side. But peace has prevailed in the long run, as it can too for you and your child.

The fact is you have been driven to this point of anger by financial abuse, neglect and lack of respect. It may well be that there was no other way to wake your child up to how truly unacceptable it has been. Please forgive yourself this outburst and give yourself as much time as it takes to do this.

Mum now says that my terrible outburst several years ago taught her so much, including things that have led to a better relationship now and beyond.

But enough banging on about hope from me. It may be hard to hear when you may be feeling so much despair.

Know at the least that I write all this to convey my love and caring for you, even if it is not all that much help.

I am waiting to board the plane home as I write this. Looking forward to being there and able to write more often and easily, with better focus and connection.

Biggest hugs, Mazy oxoxoxoxox

Re: Niquas Notes

I don't know what to do. I even pressed the button for the lifeline online chat, but they don't work until night time. I can't make phone calls, I'm usless. I can't trust my own judgement, am I blowing this all out of proportion - have I ruined everything over nothing - have I just put my child through more misery. I think my childs partner has been abusing my child financially since they met. I don't think it is love that keeps them together, I think it's tolerance of the problems they see in each other and that they enable those problems with each other. I don't think the partners parents are making the situation any healthier, they made the statement that the 3 elder children were not their grandchildren, only the 2 younger children were; that is genetically correct and probably legally, but I think it is blatently obvious they are only supporting thier grandchildren. I am very concerned about my childs state of health right now and all 5 of my grandchildrens. My eldest grand daugther seems to be going off the rails, but I know some time ago she came home one night very drunk & told her mother she'd been through rape, yet to my knowledge all her mother did was get very angry at the disgusting behaviour of her daughter being so drunk. If she was raped she needs help, if she wasn't what made her so desperate to make such a serious accusation - she still needs help. I know there is marajuana in the shed at all times, and the shed doesn't even have a latch never loan a lock - it is completely accessable by all the children, I think my eldest may already be doing so. I smoke marajuana, but I do not condone children being exposed to it. I don't know what to do.

Hi @Former-Member,

I can hear that things are overwhelming right now and that you're unsure of where to turn. I hope that we can support you somehow. I'm sending you a check in email.

It's so hard to talk to my child, I've never been honest about that to myself. I have just let this happen for too long.
