Broken beyond repair

Broken beyond repair

I've been fooling myself long enough, nothing is ever going to work for me. Some pieces will never fit, the others are crushed. There is no therapy for a mind in chaos. Reading, hopeing the next technique might work, but it never does. The darkness is overwhelming and that is all I have to offer, darkness and emptiness. Small steps always end up back where I started, in the deepest darkest pit, alone. There seems no point. I am too broken. It is all too hard and I no longer have the energy to keep swimming. Hopeless cases do exist, I am one of them.

Re: Broken beyond repair

Hi @Maggie. I love that you have such a great understanding and insight into all this Maggie. And yes, very true, if you can open a few doors for others by educating the medical profession in general, definitely a job well done. Congratulations to you Maggie.

Are you getting the moon down in Tassie tonight? Its been overcast here all day, and still is. Bit of a pity, as I was hoping to see the eclipse tonight. Still time I guess, as it doesnt start until 10.48pm. Come on cloud, clear up, just for a couple of hours. Of course I dont want to send the rain away, the few showers we've had today has been lovely.

Re: Broken beyond repair

@Maggie. I love learning more about DID and how it affects you.
I never would have thought of medication problems due to different personalities having different illnesses or not. But it makes a lot of sense.
We all know that one medication doesn't help everyone living with depression. So why should it work that easily for you and your jigsaw family.

Re: Broken beyond repair

Hi @Former-Member im watching the moon through my bedroom window. It's not looking much atm, but I'm hoping for something worth watching. I understand about the rain, we have had only two days all summer. Tassie is dry and burnt, just not like us. But it's been cold today, 19 I think. Melting one day, cold the next, it's a funny summer this one.

Are you at the party?? I'm not up to partying, but hope everyone has a good evening.

Hope you are doing okish.

Thanks for reading my splurge, I was thinking I might be wasting my time, at least someone is reading.

Good night. I know you won't get much sleep, but hope you get some rest at least.

Re: Broken beyond repair

@Maggie - I poked my head in briefly to the Eclipse Party an hour or so ago, but didnt stay. It looked like fun though, and everyone there seemed to be enjoying it. So thats good.

I was just outside to check for the moon again. I sat outside in the cool (yes its been cold here too today, only around 22C tops I think) for about 15 mins and was finally rewarded with several glimpse of the silvery coloured moon. I could see if the eclipse had started because cloud obscured part of it anyway. But the cloud kept moving over it and then it would come out again before disappearing once again behind the cloud. So I'm not going to wait around any longer for something which I'm unlikely to be able to see anyway.

Oh Maggie, its always a pleasure reading what you write. You express yourself so well, its a pleasure to read along. And you are doing a real service to others by writing and informing people about something which is so badly misunderstood, even by many professionals. Good on you Maggie, I think you're great, and a truly wonderful human being.

I'm doing okay at present I guess, getting by at any rate. Hubby had another really tough day today, after a better day yesterday. Not sure why that is, but its really getting him down. I guess we just have to be patient a little longer. I really cant wait for them to say we can start to reduce the steriod dosage though. His temper is attrocious, and I worry he'll blow a gasket. My Mum also has been back to hospital, and remains very unwell, though she is back home now.

And tomorrow is February .. already! Argh.

Good night Maggie, sleep well, and I hope you get a good view of the eclipse soon.

Sherry xx

Re: Broken beyond repair

@Former-Member It's February, a difficult time for you. I just want you to know you can vent, cry or whatever makes you feel better here. Always here with you.

The moon last night was quite lovely, though I must admit, I was expecting a bit more excitement. I guess you need a good telescope to see the action. I followed it into my lounge room and took a few pics to share, but they really are not worth sharing, just a light in the sky really.

Hubbys temper sounds scary @Former-Member, he's volatile at the best of times. I hope they reduce the steroids soon also. Do you tell the Drs about his outbursts, or is that kept be hide closed doors ?

I've just returned from the vet. Yearly injection time. My girl still has more weight loss to go, but, we are getting there.

I also had to buy a tv, my old one stopped speaking. Set it all up so I can sit up in bed and watch home and away and my kitchen rules. Are you into any of that or still watching cricket???

Well @Former-Member nice talking to you, take care of yourself. Remember, always here with and for you.💜💕💗🐾🎶🐾🎶

Re: Broken beyond repair

Thank you @Maggie, I really appreciate that.

Glad you saw the moon last night. Perhaps they made it out to be such a momentus thing that it was a bit of a non event for you? Expecting too much perhaps.

I spoke to the oncologist registrar this morning and spoke about trying to reduce the steriods. But given he had a really bad day yesterday and last night, now is not the time to try to change it. But they said that if he has 2 decent full days, that I can cut it back a little and just monitor closely to ensure no setbacks. I'm hoping that will work. But he is really ill today, and barely eating. Pale and wobbly, low blood pressure and plainly sick. The way I see it, the steriods havent seemed to improve things much at all, so why continue on them? I think the answer to that, is that they dont have any alternatives. Damn!

Oh dear, poor little Maggie. Does she get really worried at the vets? Holly turns into the biggest wimp out, and she is normally a fairly confident little thing. And is able to totally bluff even big dogs. But as soon as she sees where we have pulled up, at the vet's, she hides under the seat, or under a blanket, anything so she doesnt have to go in. I have to pick her up and carry her in, while she hides her little head under my armpit. I dont seem to have any problems with Hollys weight, she has always remained very stable. She eats well, but I guess she had a good metabolism. Now that she's 9yo though, perhaps that will change and I might need to cut back on the daily tid bits.

A new TV, well done. I do like MKR actually, and watch it every year. Although this week I did miss one full episode and bits and pieces of the others. But yes, I'm watching. Cricket has quietened down since the end of the tests. But there will be some T20 domestic Big Bash semi's on tonight and tomorrow. Since MKR is not on, I will probably watch some of those games. And on Saturday night there is an international T20 match between Aust and NZ, and I will definitely watch that. I watched a number of tennis matches during the Australian Open, which I very much enjoyed as well.

Again, many thanks Maggie, its lovely that you're there for me. I very much appreciate that. I hope you feel that I am here for you also. So please don't hesitate to tag me if you need an ear to listen in.

Sherry

Re: Broken beyond repair

@Former-Member Maggie shakes as only a chihuahua can at the vet. Poor Holly, they do stress.

Sorry about the steroid thing, Humm, no alternatives is tricky. Hubby does sound sick. It must be so hard for you being there watching, wondering. Also your mum, it never stops for you.

Have you seen your psych recently?? You might need some extra support this month, just for you.

Thanks for the listening ear. I always fear dragging others In to my deep dark pit with me. I never stay out for long. Life is so tough. All I've really done in the last month is watered the garden, and that was an effort. But I at least have clean windows ans a new tv.

Im glad you watch MKR, looks like some excitement coming up.

Anyway, just dropping off some thoughts for you. Take care.

Re: Broken beyond repair

@Maggie.

Yes I saw my psych 2 weeks ago today, and I'll be seeing her again in 2 weeks time. She said the same as you, that I could use some additional support right now.

Some me time you say? Well today I went to the dentist for my annual checkup, clean and flouride. Does that count?

Please dont ever fear dragging others down with you Maggie. I dont think it works like that. I find you inspirational, and I suspect most people do. So I repeat, if you ever need someone to listen, please tag me in and I'll be here if I possibly can be.

Watering the gardens is a good thing, and if thats all you can manage, then celebrate that. Your plants, trees, shrubs, herbs, etc will be there to show the benefits of your efforts. Its really quite a rewarding thing to do, because you see the results.

Yes, you have clean windows. I wish I could say the same. And the new TV, all set up just right for comfortable viewing, sounds pretty good.

Yes I think there is some excitement coming up on MKR, maybe even the next episode on Sunday. I'm sure a lot of the drama is exaggerated for the sake of viewing pleasure, but thats okay, its fun anyway. I also keep a bit of an eye on the "I'm a celebrity, get me outta here" show. There are a few celebrities there that I quite like. It was disappointing to see the tennis player Bernard Tomic quit after 3 days. Sad that he seems depressed, and its likely a large part of his problem over the years. So I have my work cut out switching channels between MKR and Celebrities in the African jungle.

Okay bed time for me. It's a lovely cool night, and I'm hopeful of getting some sleep tonight. I think its cool enough even to have a light quilt on, rather than just a sheet. I always feel much safer and snug when I have a quilt. Thats part of the reason why I much prefer winter.

Broken beyond repair, is a fallacy Maggie. The fragments of almost any thing broken can be put back together and it ends up being stronger, and often more beautiful than the original. Think of a beautiful and unique mosaic. Okay, goodnight Maggie. xx

Re: Broken beyond repair

Morning @Former-Member from my personal opinion, the dentist definitely, definitely does NOT count as ME time. Sorry about that, but they have a bad name. Can't remember the last time I went, as I only go when I absolutely have to, so you might have to look for a better ME time adventure.

I was thrilled to read you are seeing your psych though, that Is ME time, of the best kind. I saw my counsellor yesterday. She brought me and Maggie to the vet and helped buy the tv. I checked out the net and knew what I wanted, so just needed support in the purchase part.

Yes watering the garden is a good thing, I couldn't let all those beautiful plants die in the heat. A cool change here atm, so good, makes things a little easier.

I too like the safety of being under a doona,,it's funny how simple things can do that, bring a feeling of safety. Maggie is tucked in there during winter also. Lol.

Yes I agree MKR has some set ups, but it gets us watching. I just can't watch I'm a celebrity get me out of here. All those bugs and things crawling all over people, and the things they eat. OMG!!!!

If it's a coolish day daZi has weeding plans, she has to get me moving though, no doubt she will, she has her unspoken language working well.

I do hope you find a bit of ME time today @Former-Member you certainly deserve that. Sending warm thoughts your way. 🐾🐾🐾💕💕💕💛💛💛
