I have been getting out for walks in between resting up @Mazarita.
Father has actually been right on board with trying to get S2 into uni. He is the one who has come up with Plans B and C ..... but he has needed me as an emotional interpreter in his dealings with S2, and he is recognising that. Although it is his son who has gone through CBT and DBT, mr f&h is learning on the job.
He is still driven by some sort of internal panic, but his intentions are for the best. Now that his control methods (ones he grew up with under controlling parents) have been labelled inappropriate by the mh team, he is having to learn other coping methods, and the kids are starting to speak up to him again too ..... so it’s a bit rough and ready, but learning is happening in this frigging washing machine we’re in ..... :face_with_rolling_eyes:🤪🤨😞😳🤭
Somewhere at the end of it I am assuming a pathway entry to the uni course for S2, along with some rebuilding of resilience.
I am having to alternately step in as a mediator, and step back to preserve my own health and well-being .... and while I am stepped back, the other family members are having to step up and make the communications work and have their feelings acknowledged and respected.
So ....
