Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Note* Ive just started this thread again so it will be visible. Once I deleted my account it no longer shows up.

please join in again if and when needed.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi @Teej, @Faith-and-Hope,

I smiled at your description of yesterday, Teej, especially imagining you dashing after your group. You are good to get your clean clothes together at all. It may not surprise you to know there have been times for sure when I've been out in day old undies. Ah, but the feeling of clean clothes is so good. Just the fact that you cook dinner means you are ahead of me most days.

Faith, that's a decent list of things you have done today. Good to hear there is actually some benefit coming from the therapies that are happening with your family. Especially glad to hear that father is easing up, looking at things differently, and being well intentioned (if panicked at times).

Well, I've basically just been on the forum today. But here is my small list of ticks so far:

  • got up, 'dressed' (threw yesterday's hippy dress over me again, no bra)
  • breakfast, meds, music on (not motivating me much today though)
  • bed made
  • lunched on leftovers from the dinner I cooked last night (for the first time in more than a year)
  • very rough dusting job on corner unit, desk, bookshelf, tv unit and exercise bike.

For now, it'll do.

Smiled at the hippy dress with no bra @Mazarita and questioned if there is any other kind or way to wear a dress 😘 mind you no bra for me should be illegal as an asult on ones eyes but comfort over looks every time. It’s hot here again 37 yesterday, it’s 35 now and next few days 38, 38, 39 so it’s hair up and free flowing clothes, bra definitely optional 😁.

I found this the other day and thought of you Maz. It was interesting to me. I always love that you make your bed everyday. I’m still on my mattress on the floor but really aiming to make up my bed sometime soon when it’s not stifling in my room and I’m not AWOL which there hasn’t been much of in the last month here. Anyway you have rambling teej now but here is the video if you are interested, it’s a bit gung-ho but I like the message.

Oh yeah ... got dressed ✔️ .... haven’t been running around in jammies all day ..... not today anyway ... lol ..... @Mazarita

If we’re showered often enough I don’t think it’s a big deal if the underwear is not washed daily every now and then .... I think most of us could admit to that .... but yeah, clean clothes are goooood !!

I agree @Teej. S2 just needs to be enrolled and attending something that deactivates his self-worth ..... the rest will be recovery in time I think.

I went head over heels a bit last week. I had some distressing symptoms that indicated a health problem that could have been serious, but wasn’t, as it turns out. It has been put down to post viral fatigue .... exacerbated by the stress of our circumstances no doubt. There are a couple of silver linings though ..... the tests showed that I am in excellent overall health (thanks daily walks) ✔️ ..... and it has also drawn the attention of my family to minding my health needs .... ✔️

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

That’s great news re your health @Faith-and-Hope. I’m glad it was a health scare and nothing more 🙏. I’m supposed to go and have tests done but keep forgetting.....am also not sure it’s a good thing just now, I’ve got a small addiction to Aldi ice creams 😱😳. I keep justifying them cos they are cheap, will need to address this soon........oh so many daily goals and things to work on. Oops all about me :face_with_rolling_eyes:. It’s great you are able to get back into walking and looking after you. How has D2 adjusted with the move?

I hope s2 does find something so he can find his feet again. It makes such a huge difference. I still can’t believe how s4 landed on his feet and has gone forwards in leaps and bounds since then after all the difficult times with his depression.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

I’m feeding my face with coffee ice cream now @Teej .... was hot here today and I’m tired .... and can recognise there is still stress-loading .... considering the ice cream medicine for the moment ..... it comes in all sorts of forms, right ? @NikNik uses doughnuts to keep the doctor away ... lol ....

So glad your S4 has landed on his feet after a battle with depression @Teej. That’s encouraging to hear for my S2.

D2 is familiar with this environment, and she’s as fine here as she was back there, considering the circumstances. She has her bratty moments, especially sister-jealousy.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hey again @Bubbles3, @Teej, @Faith-and-Hope,

Just stopping in to give myself a break again from my cleaning. Since last posting, I've managed to drag my (irritable) self to the glass doors to the courtyard, and have now given them a (grumpy) spot clean. I also tried to rethread the loose latches at the bottom of the vertical blinds, but the blinds are so useless the thingie kept falling out again (more grumpiness). Cleaned the one vertical slat that was the grimiest and most visible. Whoever invented vertical blinds must be a sadist. They are such a horribly huge job to clean properly and the bottom latches always fall loose and look bad. But they were like that when we got here (minus the dust), so hopefully what I've done will be enough for the flat inspection.

Oh yes, Teej and Bubbles, no bra is supreme. I don't leave home without one these days (for same reasons as you, Teej), but when I'm not leaving the flat, okay. But my definition of bra includes those stretchy 'ahh bra' things, so not really talking serious bra very often with me anyway. I am an old hippy after all.

Faith, cool that you got dressed, though I know with your stylish pj bottoms it's never compulsory. I also had a good top and tail wash today that I didn't dot point earlier. Maybe later for the shower.

Teej, only you could get me watching a video of a US admiral doing a talk (wasn't too long for me BTW). He spoke wise words, though I'd never pass the military morning inspection in regards quality of bed making (mostly I just chuck the doona over to neaten it all up). It was @BlueBells who started me doing this every day. That was when I was also an occasional visitor to the old BlueBoard forum. She started a bedmaking thread there. I am eternally grateful to her for the lesson.
