Something’s not right

I know this post is going to be 'moderated', but I really don't care.

I know this post is going to be 'moderated', but I really don't care.

Does anyone else ever get to the point with sh that they just want to cause as much destruction as possible? Total and utter urge to self destruct?
I don't care about the ramifications, I don't care about the downstream impacts.
I just want to destroy myself.
What do you do?

@Faith-and-Hope,
Reading through stuff on DID, I can't possibly have it. You need to have had a really traumatising past to develop it. I've had some crappy experiences, but nothing 'traumatic'.

There are so many questions I want to ask him -
How long will therapy take?
What's my diagnosis?
Is therapy working? Am I doing it right? How will I know if it's working?
Why is it so hard, why am I finding it so very difficult?
Will I be able to reach my goals?

I just don't know how to ask him.

Why is my memory so bad?
Why do I zone out when I get emotional?
Why do I get so horrendously anxious and scared about being vulnerable?
Will I ever feel like a 'good' person?
Why my brothers hate me, why people don't like me. Why I'm such a shit person?

@Faith-and-Hope
Now I've just wasted a few hours reading and I'm super scared.
When I get overwhelmed, or sad, or emotional or angry - it's like I switch off and switch back on again, but I'm at a distance and things are fuzzy and not really real.
I've always done this, as long as I can remember.
And from what I've read - this is what switching is like.

And ages ago I was seeing a different therapist who talked about how my personality was fragmented.

And last time I was in hospital the doctor on the discharge letter actually asked me what I thought I had (which I find very rude) and when I said 'depression' he made a big deal talking about childhood trauma too.

Yes, I think I might email him some questions.

@Faith-and-Hope.......
Do you think I have DID?
I'm just so confused.

Just take baby steps @Former-Member and see where they lead you. Each new piece of information or quarantining, or answer, will
Need to be puzzled over a bit to work it all into place ...... it’s a process that will take time. Look at the path in front of your feet rather than worrying about how high the mountain might be or not ...... just walk the next little bit of the path and take the time to rest when you need to.

@Former-Member If i were you I would be careful with self-diagnosis. It's a trap I have fallen into in the past. Technically speaking, ANYONE can have ANY mental health condition if they look hard enough for evidence. It's the disadvantage of being self aware. When we start looking for 'confirming evidence' as opposed to looking at the evidence itself THEN determining what the condition might be. I guess trying to look for counter examples can work, but even if you can't then it's not PROOF that you have a said condition.
Don't get too confused 🙂

Re: I know this post is going to be 'moderated', but I really don't care.

I am Not in a position to know whether you did or didn’t @Former-Member, but some of the circumstances you are struggling with sound a little bit like it, from what little I know ......

This is where it is worth asking questions of people who are in a position to know, cos they might rule it out for you, and then you can stop worrying about it.

If they did tho k you had it, helping you to work with the condition rather than being troubled by the symptoms and not knowing how to control them, would improve your quality of life, give you a sense of control over what is happening to you.
