Twisted -self care
Every morning I drive east into the sun.
At traffic lights I put sunscreen on the backs of my hands.
This morning I realised that this is self care,
Very rare for me.
I need to do more of this....

No , my eldest has been studying at a country uni for 9 yrs, next two live in share houses , youngest two live with us.
I love having them visit, lucky for me the kids mostly cooked and cleaned up. My partner was late home but we were still sitting round the table. Lots of laughs.
I only got stressed when my partner asked me to locate scans, letters, reports for an appointment he has tomorrow.
Had to retreat with a cuppa after that .
It has been a long day .

S2 playing the piano. He has hardly played in the last year ..... so good to hear it back in the house. He has a strong hand on the keyboard.

For around three and a half years now I have cared for my increasingly frail mother. Up to six days a week driving 45 minutes to her home, I have cooked, cleaned, gardened, driven her to appointments, , doctors, hearing aids, hairdressers, social occasions. Called ambulances on several occasions, attended to wounds, ensured medication was taken and made her high protein meals and drinks as she became worryingly thin.
More recently I have organised mobility aids, domestic cleaners, physiotherapy, meals on wheels and shower assistants.
She resents the loss of her independence and unleashes her anger at me.
She makes it difficult for me to seek medical advice when she is clearly unwell.
I don’t know how much longer I can take it....

Hi @Catcakes .....
Was coming looking for you cos I can see something has not worked well there ..... but my D2 just had an “accident” where we were out ..... never happens ..... but have had to do a clean up and on our way home.
Will check in here later and hope to find you.
